Yoona just went out from the bathroom when she heard her doorbell is ringing. She frowned and goes to the mini screen to see who’s outside but she didn’t see anyone. She hurriedly back to her room, changing into any random clothes and rushed again to open the door. In the second she open the door, she gasped when she saw who is it.

“JONGHYUN???”

“Hi.” Jonghyun greeted her casually with his calm smile.

Yoona widened the door to let him in, while still looking very surprised. “You didn’t tell me that you’ll come.” She said while taking out a pair of guest slipper from the shoe rack and put it in front of Jonghyun. “Come in, first.”

Jonghyun followed her trough the living room “Sorry for this surprising visit.” He started to speak. “I was from some places and passing by here. Then I guess I should come to see you. I hope you won’t be disturbed.” He stared at Yoona. “It’s been a week that I didn’t see you at all.” His gaze softened.

“Eiy, of course it’s not disturbing at all. I’m just very surprised. I thought you won’t ever come here.” Yoona grimaced, although she feels that her heart is pounding a bit fast because of Jonghyun’s soft gaze. “I came to see you yesterday but they said that you’re in the middle of operation.” She sighed. “Have a seat, Jonghyun.”

“I also went to your office, Yoona.” Jonghyun held his smile as he saw Yoona’s eyes widened, totally ignoring to take a seat first. “Two days ago. And nurse Han said that you’re still having some patients. And a lot of queueing patients.” He finally let out a smile. “That’s why I came today. It feels good to see you again... and I want to do something before I sit down.” And before Yoona could even asked what is that, he already pulled Yoona softly and hugged her.

Yoona couldn’t even let out any responds. She has too many mixed feelings right now. Surprise, shocked, happy, all of those became one. But she didn’t care about that right now. All she cares is how to maintain her heartbeat in normal, since it thumped crazily and she afraid Jonghyun might noticed it since he still hugged her right now. Oh jebal… I think I’m becoming a jelly right now… My heart can’t contain such a sudden movement like this…

Jonghyun broke the hug after a while and stared at Yoona with her profound eyes. “Why I didn’t do it early?”

“H—Huh?”

“I should be come here since yesterday. Why I wasted such a day if I knew the impact of hugging you is very big…” Jonghyun seems like talked to himself.

“I—impact?”

“Yes.” Jonghyun nodded. “This is strange, but I suddenly feel happy…” he paused. “I don’t even know when the last time I said that I’m happy…” he bitterly smiled. “Thanks to you, Yoona.”

Yoona finally smiled and patted Jonghyun’s arms softly. “A rough week?”

“Every week is always getting rougher and rougher in hospital…” Jonghyun grimaced and seated himself on the couch, followed by Yoona. “What were you doing before I came?”

“I just finished shower.” Yoona answered while still staring at Jonghyun’s tired face. “Tell me, Jonghyun. What are you usually doing in weekend?”

“Hm? Sleeping, of course.”

Yoona folded her arms. “Anything else?”

“The basic. Sleep, eat, shower, watch tv, play games, and it keeps repeated.”

Yoona grimaced upon hearing Jonghyun’s answer. “That answered why your dark circles aren’t going to reduce even for a little. Don’t you ever go out?”

“Go where?”

“Any place. Any place that can make you feel refresh again.”

Jonghyun thought for a while. “No.”

Yoona sighed. I understand. It must be because his past… “How about today?”

Jonghyun frowned. “Today? Going out? Where?”

Yoona’s lips formed a wide smile. “Just follow my direction, okay? And can you wait for 30 mins? I have to get ready.”

Jonghyun thought for a moment again, but seeing Yoona’s excited face, he didn’t have any choices except to agree. Beside it doesn’t sound bad at all… “Call!”

“Well... how is it?” Yoona turned at Jonghyun and let out a satisfied smile when she saw Jonghyun is still in a daze. She just giggled quietly and followed him to go near the beach. She actually already expected that Jonghyun will have that kind of expression since she knew how long that he suffered... or maybe until now. That’s why bringing him to the beach is a good thing, I think.

“Woah this is the best!” Jonghyun’s voice is full of excitement. “Yoona, come here!”

“Yya, take off your shirt, first. No one goes to water like that!” Yoona hurriedly approached him before Jonghyun entered the water. “You wear a tshirt inside, right?”

“No. Let me get one, first. It’s in the car.” Jonghyun took out his car key and stared at Yoona. “Aaah... that’s why you dressed very casually like that...” he finally understood why Yoona only wore a short and a white t-shirt. “You brought another pieces?”

“Of course. What are you going to do in beach if you don’t want to get wet?”

Jonghyun smiled with full of excitement again. “Okay, wait a moment. I’ll change my clothes first! Don’t touch the water without me!!!!” he shouted as he ran to his car. Leaving Yoona, once again, smiled towards his-surprisingly-childish action.

 

 

 

“I never saw you laugh like that before, you know...” Yoona commented when both of them already sat exhaustedly on the sand after playing like kids for almost three hours.

Jonghyun glanced at her with unreadable expression. “I think I almost forgot how to laugh sincerely, Yoona...” he muttered. “Thanks to you...”

“Anii...” Yoona shook her head and smiled. “You’re too rude for yourself. Don’t be like that, Jonghyun. There must be so many people want to see you happy again. I’m lucky that I saw you laugh like that. Somehow it gives me a warm feeling in my heart when I saw you like that...”

Jonghyun didn’t say anything but suddenly leaned his head on Yoona’s shoulder. “Suddenly I’m afraid…”

“Why??” Yoona asked, trying to maintain her heartbeats.

“I’m starting to feel happy more and more often…”

“Hey, what’s wrong with that??” Yoona frowned although she couldn’t see Jonghyun’s expression right now.

“How if I’m starting to forget my sin?” Jonghyun said in husky voice. “That’s not fair.”

“Hey, don’t say like that, please...”

“No.” Jonghyun raised his head and finally facing her. “It’s true, Yoona. I dont even have any rights to feel happiness...”

“Jonghyun...”

“Yoona, listen.” Jonghyun closed his eyes as he sighed. And the second when he opened his eyes, those eyes looks so sad and regretful. “After the accident, after my twin dead, there are a few times I’ve tried to commit a suicide...”

“WHAT??” Yoona couldn’t hide her surprise feeling. “SUICIDE??”

“What else I can think of, Yoona?” Jonghyun sighed. “After I’ve tried a few times, it never succeed. Of course, because I’m still alive until now, that’s not fair at all...” he bitterly smiled. “After I fully recovered—from those suicide sickness—I decided to live my life like I should be. I shouldn’t feel any good feelings anymore. I suppose to live and remember what I’ve just done to my twin. That’s why, I know I have no right to feel happy. It’s not fair for Jaehyun…”

“What if…” Yoona’s voice cracked as she tried to hold her tears. “What if I want to make you happy? What if I want to share my happiness with you? What if I think that you shouldn’t punish yourself like that? What if I think that it’s time to end you punishment? That you also have the right to feel happy? Can you, Jonghyun…?”

Jonghyun was silent but staring intensely at Yoona with his painful eyes. “You don’t have to try that hard, Yoona. Of course YOU have to be happy, don’t mind me… really…”

“What do you mean by ‘don’t mind you’??” Yoona unconsciously raised her voice while staring in disbelief at Jonghyun. “I don’t care what you think about me, but for me, you are a part of me now!”

Jonghyun almost couldn’t believe what he just heard. He blinked his eyes, still looks surprised. From Yoona’s expression right now, he knew that it was something that slipped out from , but he also knew that Yoona is telling the truth. “Now I’m totally afraid…” he said, almost whispered.

“W—why…?” Yoona stuttered because of embarrassment and nervous at the same time because Jonghyun’s face is very close to her.

“I’m starting to like my life… when you’re beside me…” he stared at Yoona with his genuine eyes, while Yoona is also looking at him with unreadable gaze. And it makes him sighed and gave up. He leaned forward and kissed Yoona’s lips tenderly. He knew that Yoona was very surprised and even widened her eyes, but he didn’t break the kiss, instead he deepen the kiss and finally made Yoona closed her eyes and replied his kiss.

It took a while until Yoona feels that Jonghyun finally broke the kiss. She slowly opened her eyes and found that Jonghyun’s eyes are looking at her straightly. They were staring at each other until Yoona finally spoke up. “Is it your first kiss?” she asked after clearing .

Jonghyun frowned. “Am I that bad?”

Omo! It’s really his first time! Yoona couldn’t help but turning a bit red when she realized that she just got Jonghyun’s first kiss. “No… Actually, you’re such a good kisser…” she said while looking away, trying to hide her red cheeks. And that’s the truth… I almost doubted that he did his first kiss just now… it feels like he’s already a pro one. Ough, I think my brain is so dirty right now.

Jonghyun stared at Yoona and let out a smile. “I’m 26 years old and just got my first kiss. Isn’t it pathetic? People usually experienced their first kisses around high school or even junior high…” he chuckled.

“But you nailed it.” Yoona glanced at him and smiled.

Jonghyun raised one of his eyebrows. “Am I the best among your previous experiences?”

Yoona cleared again and shrugged her shoulders. “It’s a secret.” She gave him a teased smile.

“Woah…” Jonghyun let out an exclamation. “It will hurt my pride if the answer is no. Should I do it again to make sure that I’m the best?”

“Arasseo! You are!” Yoona finally gave up when Jonghyun started to again by approaching her with a smirk on his face. My heart is going to burst if he did it again. One is already enough to make my heart thumped like crazy…

Jonghyun stopped his move and finally grinned. He pulled Yoona’s shoulder to make her sit closer to him and ruffled her hairs. “Should I tell you something?”

“What?”

“I realized that it’s a good thing that I just gave my first kiss after 26 years…”

“Huh?” Yoona tilted her head. “Why?”

“Because I did it with you.” Jonghyun stared at her genuinely. “It’s worthy enough.”

They stared at each other for a while until Yoona finally let out a smile to him. “You know what, Jonghyun? I think I really like this kind of you…”

“This… kind? What kind of me?”

“This one. You, who started to like your own life…” Yoona smiled sincerely. “And I hope you’ll like it more and more…” she leaned her head on Jonghyun’s shoulder, signaled that she didn’t want to hear any objections from him. “It’s not a wrong thing, Jonghyun.” She said softly and smiled silently as she realized that Jonghyun didn’t even argue with her and finally leaned his head on top of Yoona’s head, enjoying the sunset together.

“Isn’t it better if we cook rather than call a delivery?” Yoona asked while Jonghyun and her are entering the lift in Jonghyun’s apartment. After they spending time on the beach, they decided to have a dinner together in Jonghyun’s house. But Jonghyun decided to just call a delivery.

“You already did too much for me today. I feel bad if you have to cook a dinner for me. You’ll be tired.” Jonghyun ruffled her hairs and smiled.

“Eiy I won’t. Beside, I didn’t do that much…”

Jonghyun just chuckled a little as they arrived on 34^th floor and heading to his unit and entered the passcode. But as soon as he stepped into his house, someone’s voice already heard, following with the appearance of that person.

“Welcome ho—WOW! You’re not alone. Hi there, Doctor Im.”

“You’re also not alone.” Jonghyun responded with a flat voice. “Hello, noona. Long time no see.” He bowed his head at the woman beside Yonghwa politely. “She's my soon to be sister in law.” He explained at Yoona.

“Oh annyeonghaseyo. Im Yoona imnida.” Yoona bowed politely—although she’s still surprised with the situation.

“Long time no see, Jonghyun.” Seohyun greeted him, looks very pleasant to see them both. “And nice to meet you, Doctor Im. Very pleasure to meet you. I’m Seo Joohyun. But you can call me Seohyun. I heard a lot about you from Yonghwa oppa.” She smiled warmly at Yoona before turned at Jonghyun again. “I’m sorry for barging into your house, Jonghyun. Blame him.” She tilted her head to Yonghwa.

“Eiy, it’s because you haven’t meet Seohyun ever since you moved into Korea. She really wanted to visit you.” Yonghwa defended.

“I’m sorry, noona. I should be the one who visited you first.” Jonghyun apologized politely.

“Eiiy… anii. I understand how busy the surgeon is.” Seohyun gave him a reassuring smile.

“Well, it’s a good thing that we decided to visit you. Because we also meet Doctor Im.” Yonghwa grinned happily. “And are you going to stand there forever? Don’t want to enter?”

“Oh I forgot that I’m in my own house.” Jonghyun said in sarcasm—which earning a laughter from Yonghwa. He took out a guest slipper for Yoona. “Come in, Yoona.” He guided her. “Are you guys cooking?”

“Yes.” Seohyun nodded. “Yonghwa said that I should make for four servings in case Doctor Im is also here. And turned out he’s right!” she said with full of excitement. While Yonghwa smiled proudly.

“Seriously, hyung. You’re spying on me, right?” Jonghyun looks a bit annoyed, earning a chuckle from Yonghwa and Seohyun.

“No. I just guessed. Who else the person that you’ve spent your whole day beside Doctor Im? No one.” Yonghwa grinned.

“Excuse me,” Yoona suddenly spoke up. “Can I help you, Seohyun-ssi?” she asked since she saw Seohyun is cooking alone. “I feel bad if I just stand here without helping…”

“Sure!!” Seohyun said, full of excitement. “Please help me to wash the vegetables. And you guys, you can do something else while waiting for dinner.”

Jonghyun glanced at Yoona, asking if she’s okay through eye contacts. Since this is the first time she met Seohyun, he’s kinda worried if Yoona feels uncomfortable. But seems like he didn’t have any reasons to worry because Yoona gave him a sincere and reassuring smile. He replied her smile before he left the kitchen, joined Yonghwa who’s already in the living room.

“You guys are so cute.” Seohyun commented as soon as Jonghyun left. Seems like she noticed their eye contacts. “It is the first time I saw Jonghyun stared at someone like that.”

“Like… what?”

“Lovingly.” Seohyun glanced at Yoona and smiled.

Yoona just grimaced over Seohyun’s words. “Uhm… can I ask, Seohyun-ssi?”

“Of course. By the way, you can drop the honorific. Hearing from Yonghwa oppa, I think we shared the same age. I’m also 26 years old. But Jonghyun used to call me ‘noona’ right since Yonghwa introduced me to him four years ago.” Seohyun chuckled.

“Aah I see…” Yoona nodded. “That means you and Yonghwa-ssi are already in a relationship for four years? Then, you must be his fiancée already, right?”

“Yes. And no.” Seohyun smiled. “Yes, I’m in a relationship with him since four years ago. And no, I’m not his fiancée. Yet.”

Yoona looks a bit surprised. Not yet?

Seohyun chuckled again upon seeing Yoona’s expression. “I know you must be curious. I got a lot of questions about that. Yonghwa oppa has his own reason why he didn’t propose yet until now. And I can accept it.”

Yoona nodded understandly. “I’m sorry. I just can’t hold back my curiosity. Because usually chaebol always have to get married early… you know, like in the drama…” she grimaced.

Seohyun couldn’t help but laughed hearing Yoona’s innocent words. “Fortunately, he’s not like the common chaebol.” She winked at Yoona. “It’s a good thing. If he’s like the others, I might get rejected by his family.”

“Huh? Museun…?”

Seohyun paused her movement from stirring the soup and facing Yoona. “If Yonghwa oppa’s parents acted like as seen on dramas, of course I will be rejected since I’m not a daughter of super-mega-rich parents, Doctor Im.”

“That’s so cool, Seohyun-ssi.” Yoona sincerely praised.

“How about you, Doctor Im?”

“Eh? Me?”

“Yes.” Seohyun nodded. “Have you meet Jonghyun’s parents?”

“No, of course not yet.” Yoona shook her head in a hurry. “I don’t think it’s even possible…” she grimaced. We’re just starting our relationship… and we’re even aware that our relationship is a bit different since both of us are still not sure about falling in love with each other… There’s no reason to meet his parents yet. Beside… come to think about it, I don’t even know what kind Jonghyun’s parents is. He always avoided the questions about his family, except Yonghwa-ssi.

Seohyun stared at Yoona with unreadable expression. “I think his Mom will like—“ her words are suddenly being cutted by Yonghwa, who entered the kitchen along with Jonghyun.

“Done already? I’m starving to death right now…” Yonghwa whined as soon as he entered the kitchen.

“One minute.” Seohyun and Yoona said in unison. “Let’s talk later, Doctor Im. We surely have many things to talk about.” Seohyun whispered to Yoona and exchanged a smile secretly.

“Can’t you just stay?”

Yoona laughed as she heard Jonghyun’s question as she’s getting ready to go home. After the dinner, four of them had a long chit chat until Yonghwa and Seohyun left first. An hour after that, Yoona decided that it’s time for her to go home also. “You shouldn’t drive me home, you know. Just take a rest. I’ll get a taxi.” She said to Jonghyun.

“What are you talking about?” Jonghyun frowned as he took his coat and his car key. “Of course I should drive you home.”

“It’s Jamsil, Jonghyun. You may waste two hours in road.”

“I don’t mind at all rather than sending you to your home by taxi. C’mon.” He hugged Yoona’s shoulder and guided her, so she won’t protest anymore. He kept hugging her shoulder until they arrived on the parking area.

“Wait!” Yoona suddenly stopped when she realized that Jonghyun unlocked the other car. Not the white Aston Martin Vanquish that he used to ride. “Isn’t it your car?”

“Yes.” Jonghyun nodded. “Why?”

“Then why you unlocked the other car?”

“Oh…” Jonghyun finally understand. “I forgot to refill it. I’m afraid it won’t be last until we reached the nearest gas station.” He grimaced. “C’mon.”

Yoona stared at the car that Jonghyun approached, right beside the white one. What? Don’t tell me it’s also his car! Seriously? One luxury car already made many speculations in hospital about how much his income in NY. And now… I wonder what they’ll say if they knew that actually he also owned a red Lamborghini… Yoona thought in her mind as she approached the car and got in.

 

 

 

“Thank you so much for driving me home, Jonghyun.” Yoona said as they arrived in front of her apartment building. “You still have to drive for an hour. I’m very sorry… It must be tired…”

Jonghyun ruffled Yoona’s hairs. “Don’t mind me. Thanks to you, Yoona. I have a very great day. Although you may feel burdened because Yonghwa hyung and his girlfriend joined us.”

“No, not at all.” Yoona shook her head while grinning. “I do like them. Actually it’s nice to talk with Seohyun.”

“Woah… you’re really get along so well with people.” Jonghyun looks amazed. “Glad to hear that.”

Yoona smiled upon hearing Jonghyun’s praise. “I’ll get going, then. Drive safely, okay? Can you let me know if you already arrived at home safely?”

Jonghyun let out a small chuckle and nodded. “I’ll text you. Go, then. It’s getting late.”

Yoona nodded and about to open the car’s door but suddenly being stopped by Jonghyun. “Huh? Why?” she asked confusedly.

“Feel bad just letting you get out from the car like that.” Jonghyun took off his own seatbelt and leaned forward. He landed a soft peck on Yoona’s cheek. “Good night.”

Yoona unconsciously touched her cheek. She’s still a bit surprised with Jonghyun’s sudden movement. She blinked her eyes several times before she replied him with a smile. “What a very nice way to say ‘good night’.”

“Don’t you want to give a reply?” Jonghyun raised one of his eyebrows, slightly smirked.

“Not right now.” Yoona shook her head while holding her smile. “I’ll reply it later. If I give it now, you might couldn’t focus when driving on your way home.” She said playfully, which earned a laugh from Jonghyun.

“Okay, okay. I got it.” Jonghyun said in the middle of his laughter. “Go, then. See you tomorrow.”

Yoona gave him a sweet smile before she got down. “See you tomorrow, Jonghyun.”

Jonghyun waited until Yoona entered the building before he the car. But suddenly his phone is ringing softly. He stopped the car and glanced at his phone screen. As he read the caller ID, he sighed loudly. He stared for a few seconds before he tapped the answer button. “Lee Jonghyun’s speaking.” He listened for a moment before he replied. “No. And I’ve said this for a numerous times. Please don’t involve me anymore.” And with that, he ended the call and threw his phone to the seat behind.

“Did you tell him?”

“No.” Yonghwa said in apologetic voice. “I just… can’t find out the timing. You know it can drastically change his mood whenever I talked about that… and… it’s very hard to me to talk about that when I saw him look so happy…”

“Did you say that he looks so happy…?”

“Yes.” Yonghwa nodded, although it can’t be seen with the person that he’s talking with over phone right now. “Although he didn’t want to admit it. But he looks happy. Thanks to that woman.”

“I want to meet that woman, Yonghwa.”

“Meet her only if Jonghyun agreed. I don’t think it’s a good idea to meet her without Jonghyun knew about that. It will make the situation became worse…”
