Chapter 23
Marriage Contract
Naeun wakes up to the pink surrounding so she quickly look for Kai.
“You are awake.”
He said, smiling warmly as he walks to her.
“I just send eomonim out. Abeonim came to fetch her. How are you feeling?”
He asks way too softly and caresses her cheek but Naeun suddenly sobs.
“Did something happen to me? Why are you whispering? Am I diagnosed with deadly disease?”
She asks innocently and Kai burst out laughing before he calm down and apologized to Naeun who still have no reaction.
“You are totally fine baby. You are pregnant. We are going to be parents.”
“What? Pregnant? Why did I faint then? And ouch.”
She childishly whine when she realize there is needle attached to her hand.
“You are weak. You eat little so you are kinda drained of vitamin and glucose.”
Kai still smile when he holds her hand in his; kissing her knuckles.
“Oh you make me have more sense of responsibility. I’ve started to think on how should I act around you.”
“I’m sorry.”
She said, all of a sudden.
“Now why is that sorry for?”
“You said you don’t want children for now.”
“No. I don’t mean it. Am I crazy? Of course I want children. And lots of them. Oh honey. I’m so happy.”
He hugs her now and caresses her hair. Naeun sniffles few times before she lets Kai wipes her tears.
“Now stop crying. How are you going to take care of our baby if you act like a baby now?”
“Now I’m jealous of our baby.”
She pouts. Kai chuckles and pecks her pouting lips.
“I love this baby the most.”
He said on her lips and Naeun grins happily.
“I’m pregnant.”
She said, palming her stomach.
“Yes baby. You are pregnant.”
He said, suddenly emotional with how Naeun eyes went to her stomach which obviously still thin. And soon his thought went out of the window when she suddenly screams in happiness.
“Thank God we are in a private ward. Being alone with my omma makes you act like her too.”
He shakes his head and she laughs before hugging her husband.
“I’m so happy!”
She screams again and Kai shuts her with a kiss.

“Seriously?”
Naeun nods and Krystal screams too.
“I did that too when I knew.”
“What? Screaming?”
Naeun nods again.
“Aww. You waited long.”
“Heyy. I didn’t get married to have babies.”
“And what? You got married because you love your husband?”
“I do now. He is happy to know that I’m expecting too. It’s heart-warming since he doesn’t like kids.”
“Men can change.”
“Of course. So are you planning to have babies too?”
“Since you are pregnant now, I will.”
“What? You are waiting for me?”
“Nope. I’m loving the attention my husband is giving me.”
Krystal said in a sing sang voice. Naeun laughs.
“I have to go now.”
“This early?”
Naeun nods.
“I’m out without telling him. He will be so mad.”
“Why? He is not permitting you out?”
“Yes. Ever since he knew I’m pregnant; his over protective instinct grew.”
“Awww. That’s sweet.”
“It’s not Krys. You should seen him. Urghh.”
“Don’t fake that. You love it.”
“Is it obvious?”
“Yes lady. You are not groaning, you are whining and cutely at that.”
Naeun cups her own cheek and giggles.
“I love him so much I guess.”
“You are.”
Krystal said and squeezes Naeun’s hand.
“And I’m happy for you.”
Naeun pats Krystal’s hand and both leave for their own car after bidding goodbye.

“It looks bigger than mine too.”
Bomi said when the rest commented about Naeun’s baby bump.
“Really?”
Naeun asks, eyes bulging. Jimin nods while she sang lullaby for her baby to sleep; Baekhyun sulking next to her.
“Don’t you want to scan them Naeunnie?”
Bomi asked and Naeun caresses her tummy.
“While it shows?”
“Of course.”
“Is this really bigger than yours unni?”
Bomi nods; smiling. Naeun glances at Jimin and she laughs
“You saw mine, don’t you remember?”
“What if?”
“There are three of them?”
Jongdae who pops up from the main door asked; teasing smile ghosts on his lips.
“Stop it oppa.”
Bomi scolded and let her twins ran to her husband. Jongdae carry them both before sitting down with the ladies.
“There is no harm in checking though.”
He said; defending himself. Jimin excuses herself to place her baby in the cot.
“This is just your first trimester. You have 2 more to go. Check now so you can be prepare.”
Jimin added after she come back, ruffling Baekhyun’s hair who now finally smiling.
“I guess I should.”
Said Naeun, sighing.
“Kai is on leave tomorrow. Bring him along. Never go alone to prenatal check-up. Let the husband hear what Doctor said too so they know how to act.”
Said Bomi and Jongdae nods despite the twins trying to wrestle his tie from him.
“Neh.”
And Naeun look at her tummy again.

“Will you be okay.”
“Wae?”
Naeun asks as she look at her husband.
“If there really are three of them.”
Kai asked again, smiling nervously.
“I am a little nervous but I will be fine I guess.”
She said, holding tightly on her husband hand while they wait for their number.
And Naeun heaves a breath before they walk into the Doctor’s room.
“Ready?”
She asks and Naeun chuckles before answering yes.
“Oh. There is three of them.”
She said in awe.
“Where?”
Kai asked and Naeun too quickly look at the monitor.
“Here, here and there.”
Kai’s eyes are sparkling while Naeun’s nervousness flew away. Seeing the little spot on the monitor and that they are their children makes her feel emotional.
“Let’s see them again on your next appointment Mrs Kim. Then, we can hear the heart beat.”
Naeun smiles and Kai quickly kisses her forehead.
“Jongdae hyung is really good in this.”
Kai said and Naeun laughs.
“Get ready honey. We are gonna have three of them.”
She said when they are walking to the car and Jongin salute like an army. Naeun happily laughs and despite being scared; she is more than excited now that she knows she is pregnant with triplet.
“Omma and eomonim will be happy.”
“My mom will cry.”
“Omma will too.”
Kai said and kisses Naeun’s palm.
“I’ll act maturely from now on.”
“You ca be childish at time. I love you that way too.”
She said and smooch him. Kai had that big grin and he never let her hand go while Naeun cosily rested on his arm.

Few months later
“No.”
Kai sternly rejected her idea which makes Naeun pouts.
“Whyyy?”
“Honey. I know it’s your favourite oppa’s wedding but no means no.”
“You are being ridiculous.”
“No. You are Son Naeun.”
“You don’t love me anymore.”
She said as she sat on the bed; caressing her extra round belly. Kai sighs.
“I would definitely let you if they held the wedding like normal people do.”
“Are you saying that my Wonshik oppa is not normal?”
“My Wonshik oppa?”
Kai hands is on his hips.
“You said you are not going to get angry at me.”
“I am not.”
He slowly rested his hand on his side. Heave a breath to calm himself.
“Okay I will let you go but I’m coming with you.”
“No you have meetingggg.”
She said in whiny tone but Kai sternly look at his dear wife.
“That meeting is not my priority. You are. I want you safe and sound. How can I go to the meeting when I know you are going to the wedding in the rainforest?”
“Oh how sweet.”
She pinches his cheeks and gives him a smooch.
“Now what should I wear?”
Naeun stands and pulls Kai towards the closet.
“Slowly baby. Take a slow step.”
Naeun rolls her eyes again that day. Extra protective Kai is adorable at times but mostly irritating.

“This is unique.”
Kai said to Wonshik when the ceremony ended. Wonshik laughs; looking at the surrounding.
“I love nature and so does Yura. We love the idea that our planner suggested so here we are.”
Naeun happily smiling at them and Kai huffs.
“You should consider others too.”
“Sorry Nangni.”
Wonshik said to the heavily pregnant lady as he pats her hair and Naeun just shrugs his apology off.
“I don’t mind. My husband is just being over dramatic.”
Kai glares at his wife but Naeun stuck out her tongue at him instead.
“Oh we have to go home now.”
Said Naeun and Yura thanked her for coming.
“That’s not nice.”
She said as soon as they are in the car. Kai glances at her and raises his shoulder.
“I don’t mind what will they think about me. You are the most important.”
“Aww how sweet.”
She said, pinching his cheek before a proud smile lit on his face.
“Listen to that babies; your daddy is the best right?”
She said to her tummy and pats them.
“I’m going to pamper you forever.”
He said as he holds her hand. Naeun giggles and kisses his hand before leaning on his arm.
“I have the most perfect husband.”
I have to end it this way. Sorry but this is all I can come up with. See you in another story. I will still update Naeun one shot at times if I am not busy with projects.
