It was known that the Kims and the Dos were great friends since one of them shifted to the house next to the other. They’ve been living cordially for a pretty long time and shortly after the Do got their second son, Kyungsoo and the year that followed the Kims got their third child Jongin. Both of the families were rejoiced by the idea that the youngest of their families would get along but who knew it would be totally different as they grow up, as babies they didn’t really paid much attention to their appearances but when Kyungsoo was five and jongin was four the latter pointed at the small yet squishy boy while saying this to his mom

 

 

“U-umma he l-looks like an oo-owl”

 

 

And he hooted at the elder one which caused big fat tears sliding down on the latter’s cheeks and making him run back home. As soon as kyungsoo ran back home jongin’s mom was somehow angry at what her son did, she personally loved the little squishy boy, with a dramatic sigh she pulled her son’s ear while scolding him lightly and obliged him to ask for forgiveness to kyungsoo.

 

 

The next day both mom and son were infront of their neighbour’s house, it was the eldest son of the Do family who opened the door and needless to say jongin’s mom also found him adorable, with his baby like face and his puffy cheeks she always imagined as a baozi when she looked at the boy, with her free hand she slightly pinched the latter’s cheek, jongin who was holding on his mom’s other hand felt neglected, he puffed his cheeks and whined

 

 

“Ummmmaaaa”

 

 

His mom who seemed to catch up the mood of her son, sighed and gave a little smile to the other boy

 

 

“Annyeong Minseok ah is your mummy at home?”

 

 

“Annyeong aunty umm no mommy is at the hospital”

 

 

Jongin’s mom looked appalled, and held jongin’s arm a bit tighter causing the latter to whimper

 

 

“Oh my god is she okay?”

 

 

Minseok nodded carefully and said in a small voice

 

“She’s fine aunty”

 

 

“But you said she’s in the hospital!”

 

 

“Yes for kyungie”

 

 

“Kyungsoo? Waeyo?”

 

 

But before minseok could reply his mom made her entry with a sleepy kyungsoo secured in her arms,

 

 

“Minah how come you are here?”

 

 

Jongin’s mom turned around and approached her friend concernedly while ruffling kyungsoo’s hair lovingly,

 

 

“Jieun is he okay?”

 

 

“Hmm let’s get inside I’ll tell you”

 

 

With that all of them went inside, kyungsoo’s mom laid her son on his  bed and as soon as his body made contact on the soft mattress, he automatically reached for his pororo plush toy and tugged it to his chest by hugging it tightly and was pouting slightly in his sleep, jongin who was also present in the room was in awe, his whole face lit up when he saw kyungsoo doing this action,

 

 

“A-aunty c-cute”

 

 

Jieun smiled and ruffled his hair, which made jongin pout a little,

 

 

“Jongin ah I know you’re too young to understand what I’m about to say but all I wish is that when you both grow up and become adults, always keep an eye on my son. Promise aunty jieun that no matter what happens you’ll always be there for kyungsoo.”

 

 

Jongin who was listening attentively to his aunty, had his eye brows furrowed and his lips were slightly pursed, his mind couldn’t really process what was his aunty trying to say but nevertheless he flashed her a toothy smile

 

 

 

“D-deh aunty”

 

 

Jieun smiled and pressed peck to jongin’s chubby cheeks and then scoped him in her arms while walking in the living room an action which made Jongin smile gleefully, while reaching the living room she made him sit on the couch next to Minseok who was engrossed in the cartoons he was watching, soon jongin also was engrossed in the cartoons that he barely listened to the conversation that his mom and aunt were having, he also missed the action where his mother hugged her friend who was shedding a few tears.

Soon when Kyungsoo and Jongin grew up, they both had contrasting personalities, jongin was the introvert one so he did not have many friends, he made it to kindergarten up till college with his only 2 friends Chanyeol and Sehun whereas Kyungsoo was a social butterfly, and he had a lot of friends in his group and was always happy around them. Coming to the relationship between them, they were awkward towards each other they were neither friends nor close, even if they were neighbours they still didn’t talk just a nod of the head here and there or just a simple good morning was said whenever they see each other, otherwise nothing. Though Jongin always had an eye on the elder, no matter what he was doing, he always made sure to look at the elder, as he never forgot about the promise.

 

 

This year Kyungsoo was graduating and jongin had one more year to go. Despite being a low key in college, jongin had his share of popularity, as he was known to be the iest dancer of the college and dated a few girls but none of them last for 1 month, currently he was dating  the queen bee of the college Seoyeon, they were all in the canteen, he had his arm draped over the shoulders of his girlfriend and from time to time, was whispering some sweet nothings in her ear, sehun who saw this rolled his eyes, it was the same thing every time with Jongin and his girlfriends, whispers which makes them blush, then a date which ends in the bed at night and then the same thing is repeated for a few weeks minus the date of course and after jongin was bored he just dumps them.

 

 

This time he was damn sure the same thing was bound to happen, in the corner of his eyes he saw kyungsoo and his friends making an entry in the canteen, he looked at the elder, Kyungsoo who spotted him gave him a small smile, he also did the same, and Jongin who saw his friend smiling at someone got curious, he also averted his eyes in the direction where Sehun was looking, andalso spotted Kyungsoo, he flashed a smile at the latter while giving him a nod, and in return he was greeted the same way,

 

 

“Baby are you friends with those dweebs?”

 

 

Jongin who had his eyes on the elder averted his eyes to his girlfriend and frowned a little

 

 

“Dweebs?”

 

 

Sehun who heard his friend cold tone knew that jongin wasn’t pleased right now and he sincerely hoped the girl wasn’t that stupid and will catch up with the tone of his friend, but as expected the girl didn’t get it, he shook his head sympathetically for her

 

 

“Yea those dweebs! Who are good for nothing and are always found in the library and all classes! Their faces are always plastered in their books and honestly everyone knows that they don’t have a social life and always have the same group of friends. Bloody losers”

 

 

Whoa! Was all Sehun could think of, sneakily typed a message to his other friend,

 

 

To: Yoda

Yo some1 is bout to get her… Whip! Canteen ASAP! ^0^

 

 

He tapped his mobile’s screen impatiently and within seconds he got a message

 

 

From: Yoda

Coming!!!! >3<

 

 

Sehun snickered and waited impatiently in his seat for Jongin to explode, personally Chanyeol and him didn’t like the queen bee per say, and now seeing his friend fuming as she insulted kyungsoo was a sight to see, personally he didn’t like it when she insulted the latter and his friends, he knew kyungsoo for a long time, he knew that the latter was the nicest person ever alongside with his friends especially the panda looking guy who is lovely and saying that they are nerds without social life isn’t nice at all.

 

 

He huffed and soon a giant dashed to their table and sat next to him he nudged Sehun, the latter nodded and with his eyes, he signalled him to look at the couple infront of them. How they wished they had some popcorn with them! But bubble tea was alright too, both were sipping on their drink and waiting for Jongin to react and the said latter did it, he took his bottle of water, opened it and poured all the content over the girl’s head, an action which made them choke on their drinks

 

 

“You know what to hell with you! This is the problem with girls like you, girls who are fake and superficial and always think about looks and material things, you may think that when boys are parading behind you, you’re the queen but sorry to disillusion you! Cheap things always attract huge amount of people! Looks and material things never define a person’s personality get that in your crammed head! Now get the hell out of here I don’t want to see your fake face in front of me!”

 

 

 

Sehun and chanyeol shared a look and then glanced at Seoyeon who’s black mascara or eyeliner was smudged under her eyes, she looked like a living witch, instead of going away like Jongin ordered her to, she just stood up and pressed her finger to jongin’s chest who in return looked irritated

 

 

“You’ll regret this Kim Jongin! You’ll regret what you did to me right now! You’ll pay for this!”

 

 

Jongin rolled his eyes while sitting down on his seat he picked his cheese burger from the tray and began to munch on it, Seoyeon huffed and went away while muttering a few profanities, the 2 friends who were silent in the whole ordeal gulped before speaking,

 

 

“Dude you okay?”

 

 

“Yea totally you know you won’t be getting laid now!”

 

 

Jongin who was still eating his cheese burger flashed them his middle finger, but then again averted his eyes to kyungsoo’s table, the latter was already looking at him, their eyes met briefly before he averted his eyes swiftly from the other. He knew that kungsoo saw what he did, maybe it was him acting impulsively but he didn’t bother that wasn’t what he needed anyways sure he won’t get laid but this doesn’t matter, she got what she deserved for insulting kyungsoo. Somehow in the back of his mind he still couldn’t understand how can kyungsoo have an impact on him is it because of the promise he made he doesn’t know. But the urge to protect the elder was overwhelming he always wanted to see kyungsoo smiling, and needless to say that jongin observed that the latter has heart shaped lips, and personally he found this cute.

 

 

And like this the day went on like this, jongin spent the majority of his afternoon in the dance room and kyungsoo was in the music room singing with his friends.

After dancing for which felt like an eternity, jongin plopped down on the floor, he sat in indian style while panting heavily yet he was satisfied with his dance routine all he needs to do is show it to Sehun tomorrow so that they can practice it for the pre-graduation festivities. He sighed while standing up and advanced towards his bag, slung it over his shoulder, and was making his way out when he saw kyungsoo also coming out of the music room, he was lost, should he wait for him or just go? But his feet automatically stopped and waited for the said boy to approach him. Kyungsoo flashed him a small smile, to which he returned whole heartedly, he cleared his voice and said

 

 

“Eh you going home?”

 

 

“Yea and you?”

 

 

“Yea I am”

 

 

They both stood awkwardly in silence, Jongin was looking at kyungsoo who was busy staring at his shoes,

 

 

“Eh hyung you can accompany if you want it’s already late. I mean I have my car and we live next to each other so I can drop you home. If that’s what you want”

 

 

He scratched the back of his head sheepishly, he never knew how should he engage a conversation with kyungsoo they were just so weird together yet it was endearing to be next to the elder,

 

 

“I guess it’s okay. I mean if you don’t mind”

 

 

“Ah aniyo I’m the one who asked you anyway! Ermh right come with me hyung”

 

 

And with that both of them advanced towards the parking lot, jongin unlocked his car and opened the passenger door, kyungsoo thanked him softly and got inside, he smiled and went to the driver’s side and go in, he the ignition and soon the car roared in life.

 

 

The car ride to their house was awkward yet peaceful, Kyuhyun’s A Million Pieces was blasting softly against the speakers, from time to time jongin could hear kyungsoo singing along the lines and personally he found the elder’s voice very soothing,

 

 

“Hyung you have such a beautiful voice”

 

 

Kyungsoo bit his lower lip in embarrassment he forgot that he was in jongin’s car, they were both quiet that it slipped his mind that the latter was next to him,

 

“Ah kamsahamnida jongin”

 

 

“I’m just stating the truth so no need to say thank you hyung”

 

 

“Hmmm”

 

 

And again a silence fell, and it was somehow bothering jongin he wanted to listen to kyungsoo’s voice, it’s true that they don’t talk to each other frequently but right now he wants to speak to the elder,

 

 

“So hyung do you like ballad songs?”

 

 

Kyungsoo who had his hands on his laps was clasping and unclasping them, an action which Jongin noted, the elder do that only when he is nervous or embarrassed,

 

 

“Y-yes I do but then again I like a few hip hop songs”

 

 

“Ah that’s nice to know. Any particular band you like?”

 

 

“Super Junior, BTS, One Direction and EXO”

 

 

Jongin snickered

 

 

“You listen to English songs too?”

 

 

“Y-yea they’re kinda nice and catchy actually”

 

 

Jongin nodded,

 

 

“But then again what type of songs do you like to sing? I think that ballads are more your thing. It suits your voice perfectly”

 

 

Kyungsoo smiled slightly

 

 

“Yes I also prefer ballads as I can try the high notes that I’ve been learning”

 

 

“Whoa that’s good to know hyung”

 

 

There was still 5 minutes until they reach their destination, before jongin could speak, kyungsoo did

 

 

“Jongin ah can I ask you something?”

 

 

“Yea hyung anything?”

 

 

“What happened in the canteen during the day with Seoyeon? I know it’s none of my business and I shouldn’t meddle but still I was a bit shocked by your attitude”

 

 

Jongin bit his inside cheeks to prevent him from getting angry by remembering why he did that in the first place, his tightened his jaw and looked ahead to calm himself a bit.

 

 

“Ah mianhaeyo jongin! Forget what I asked”

 

 

“No hyung it’s okay. It’s just that sometimes when people insult someone that means something to you even if you’re not close, you tend to get angry, and so this is what happened! Seoyeon happened to push all the wrong buttons in me so I got angry and broke up with her”

 

 

Kyungsoo hummed but didn’t say anything more, soon they reached in front of kyungsoo’s house, and the latter unbuckled his seat bealt and looked at jongin who was already staring at him

 

 

“Thank you jongin”

 

 

“It’s okay hyung it was nice having someone to talk to while coming back home”

 

 

Kyungsoo smiled a little

 

 

“Jongin I know we’re not friends per say but I really want us to talk more frequently from now on. If that’s ok with you.”

 

 

Jongin flashed kyungsoo a grin and retrieved his mobile from his pocket, and handed it to kyungsoo who was a bit confused

 

 

“Hyung just save your number in there will you? I also share the same feeling! I think we should just drop that awkwardness and become friends.”

 

 

Kyungsoo nodded and with shaky hands he saved his number on jongin’s mobile and handed it back,

 

 

“Thanks jongin and see you tomorrow I guess”

 

 

“Yep bye kyungsoo hyung see you tomorrow morning”

 

 

 

The latter nodded and got down, jongin smiled a little feeling happy all a sudden, he waited for the elder to get in in house and then drove towards his house and parked his car outside. He got inside of his house and greeted his parents hastily while dashing in his room, he quickly went in the bathroom to take a shower. After 25 minutes he came out with his hair slightly damped and was wearing a pair of comforting sweatpants, he glanced at his mobile which was on his bed, pouting slightly he reached for the device, and went through recent contacts and saw Kyungsoo’s number, the latter saved his number under his full name, he frowned slightly and edited the name. But then again another idea popped in his mind,

 

 

To: Squishy 

Hey hyung it’s jongin. U can save my num now ^^

 

 

With that he let his whole body fall back on his bed, and was waiting for the latter’s reply and after a few minutes his mobile beeped

 

 

From: Squishy

Ah okay, Ty I just saved it. ^0^

 

 

Jongin smiled at the use of the emoticon it was squishy just like his hyung, he shook his head and typed another message

 

To: Squishy

Hehe ^^ It was nice talkin to u. ;)

 

 

From: squishy

Yea it was nice >.<

 

 

To: Squishy

Ha! ^^ Hyung u go to college by bus right?

 

 

From: Squishy

Yea… Waeyo?

Was wonderin if u’d like to go to college with me tomrw? ^^;

 

Jongin began to panic when he noticed that the elder wasn’t replying was he being too confident or imposing? He was about to type another message when he received a reply

 

From: Squishy

Would tht b ok? I dn’t want to impose >.<

Aniyo hyung! It’d b real nice! Consider it as bonding time ;)

And let’s just say jongin and kyungsoo were both on cloud nine, the awkwardness barrier was finally broken, and now all they were set to become friends.

After 3 months things gradually changed between kyungsoo and Jongin, the elder one had 2 more months to graduate and he was in glee, firstly because Jongin and him got over the phase where they were awkward, right now you could say they were somehow pretty close, and he couldn’t wish for anything much more better than this, as far as Jongin is concerned he hasn’t banged anyone during these 3 months and his friends found it really strange coming from  him, sure he was flirting here and there but it never ended in his bedroom. The ultimate question that was on their lips was: Did jongin fall for Kyungsoo? But they couldn’t decipher it yet.

 

Kyungsoo and his friends were often joining the 3 friends table’s for lunch, yea they had their table too. But this not only benefited Jongin and kyungsoo, it also benefited the other 2 friends, as the giant had his eyes on a certain someone who loved eyeliners, and it could be seen that it was mutual and at any time they could be in a relationship, on the other hand Sehun was always flustered to be infront of his crush of 2 years and at the end of last month he mustered his courage to ask the panda looking guy out and the other was actually really happy and said yes so they’ve been together for a few weeks now.

 

 

“Soo can I come over today?”

 

 

Kyungsoo was sipping on his bubble tea, courtesy of Sehun by the way, nodded and replied

 

 

“Yea mom wanted to meet you too”

 

 

Jongin grinned and then threw an arm around kyungsoo’s shoulders, and with his free hand he was also sipping on a bubble tea, sehun and tao were looking at these 2 wondering why sometimes they act like lovers yet they aren’t. Tao sighed and leaned his head on his boyfriend’s shoulder, while sehun draped an arm around tao’s waist and held him close to him,

 

 

“Hunnie?”

 

 

“Hmm?”

 

 

“Don’t you think we should do something for these 2?”

 

 

Sehun hummed and threw a scrutinizing look towards the 2 friends, currently jognin had his head on kyungsoo’s shoulder and they were both talking softly from time to time and were smiling blissfully, but sehun wasn’t sure. Does jongin like kyungsoo? Given the fact that his friend was straight as a needle and to confirm it he was always flirting with girls and even started to get laid since he was 17. But right now he wasn’t sure, Jongin was never this close to him or Chanyeol heck he never leaned his head on their shoulder before but with kyungsoo he was surprisingly touchy. He sighed

 

 

“I don’t know taozi. I know jongin doesn’t swing that way but right now I’m unsure and  coming to kyungsoo I don’t even know”

 

 

Toa sighed and hugged his boyfriend's waist

 

 

“I don’t even know baby kyungsoo never dated anyone uptill now. I know he has a crush on someone since middle school but we don’t even have any idea who that person is!”

 

 

Sehun racked his brains trying to connect the dots, what if the person kyungsoo had a crush on is jongin? But then again what if he’s not? He huffed and leaned his head over tao’s head and glanced towards his two friends wondering what are their relation together? He could swear he was about to get a pounding head with all this mental torture he’s inflicting to himself.

Soon the 2 friends were in jongin’s car, Siwon’s Only You was resonating softly in the car, kyungsoo got that habit to sing along and jongin always loved listening to him, he still thinks that his hyung is the best and his voice is soothing, a voice he came to love actually.

 

 

“Soo will minseok hyung be at home today?”

 

 

“Yea he told mom and dad that he wanted to tell them something very important.”

 

 

“Ah are you sure I can come then? It’s your family private matter”

 

 

“Pabo! You’re family too so you may join us.”

 

 

“Aigoo okay then hyung”

 

 

They arrived shortly at kyungsoo’s place both of them got down and went in the house, jongin as usual was greeted by his Jieun aunty’s loving hugs. After exchanging a few pleasantries, minseok made his grand entry with another guy, who was slightly taller than him and if you didn’t look properly you would think that he’s a girl due to his feminine facial features. Jongin could see that his aunty and uncle were unfazed by the presence of the boy, instead they smiled at him and mentioned him to sit down, and the guy nodded and sat down next to minseok. After the dinner and dessert everyone went in the living room and settled down, but minseok was getting fidgety all a sudden, he stood up and fisted his hands and said nervously

 

 

“Umma, appa I’ve got something to tell you”

 

 

He signalled the guy, Luhan to stand next to him, which he did

 

 

“What is it minseok ah?”

 

 

“I-I’m gay and lu-luhan is my b-boyfriend”

 

 

Jongin widened his eyes, suddenly the atmosphere got eerie, and kyungsoo looked at his brother and his boyfriend sympathetically,

 

 

“Since when minseok?”

 

 

“Since high school dad, we’ve been dating for nearly 3 years”

 

 

“Is he the reason you’ve shifted to your own apartment?”

 

 

Minseok nodded, too afraid to speak but what shocked everyone was when Jieun stood up and hugged her son,

 

 

“Minseok ah it’s okay baby. Umma and appa won’t disowned you as our son. Baby you’ve got the right to love whoever you want, you’re an adult and also we’ve learn to live with your generation, so don’t worry”

 

 

Minseok hugged his mom tightly and jongin could see that his uncle stood up and hugged his son and soon luhan was dragged to join the hug. To be frank he was happy for both of them, in the corner of his eyes he could see kyungsoo sniffling lightly, he shook his head and then leaned onto the elder and hugged him tightly.

 

 

“Their relationship just got accepted hyung why are you crying?”

 

 

Kyungsoo who held onto jongin’s shirt mumbled with difficulty

 

 

“Hyung was so scared of my parents’ reaction I’m so glad that mom and dad accepted them. I’m so relieved I can’t tell you.”

 

 

“Pabo hyung. They’re fine now relax.”

It was a frosty Saturday morning when kyungsoo’s mobile beeped, he was hidden underneath his comforter, he whined a little and threw his hand on the night stand to grab his mobile, he squinted his eyes due to the brightness of his mobile nevertheless he saw that it was a message from jongin

 

From: Jongnnie

Hyung can u come out now? I want to tell u somthng. ^^;

 

 

To: Jongnnie

Now!!! It’s freezing outside! >.<

 

 

From: Jongnnie

Kyungie plz! I’m bout to freeze to death if u don’t come out! T_T

 

 

To: Jongnnie

Aish okay! ­-_-

 

 

 

Kyungsoo whined as he got down the bed, it was frigging cold and it was frigging 06:30 a.m what does that stupid jongin wants now? Nevertheless he wrapped a scarf around his neck and put on his favourite woollen mittens and, got down the stairs without any noise as his parents were still asleep, also when he had to open the front door he did it ever so delicately wishing that the old door doesn’t creak. Outside it was still dark, the street lamps were still on and the snow was still falling, he tried to find Jongin and he did, the latter was under the lamp post that was near his house.

 

 

While clutching on tightly to his muffler he advanced towards the said boy, he gasped when he saw that the younger was in his casual clothes and just had a beanie on his head! That is why he said he was freezing to death! He hastily went towards jongin and held both of his hands between his palms

 

 

“Are you crazy? Why are dressed so lightly when it’s frigging 2 degrees outside! You’ll get sick stupid let’s get inside”

 

 

He tried to drag the younger but he didn’t budge, and this made him whine

 

“Joongiiin!”

 

 

“No hyung let me talk first”

 

 

“But you’ll get sick pabo!”

 

 

“Hyung please”

 

 

Kyungsoo never heard jongin’s pleading tone before, and right now he could tell how much jongin was getting fidgety and wanted to talk,

 

 

“What is it jongin?”

 

 

Jongin looked up and locked his eyes with the latter,

 

 

“I-I like you kyungsoo”

 

 

Kyungsoo let out a silent gasp and widened his eyes, he retrieved his hands back and stared at the younger,

 

 

“W-what?”

 

 

Jongin sighed and said it again firmly

 

 

“I said I like you kyungsoo”

 

 

The second time jongin said it, he found it overwhelming, he could feel his eyes getting moist, he didn’t know if it was because of the cold or was it because he voiced out his feelings? To be honest he never really liked someone, before saying someone I like you was just an act but now voicing it out with his real feelings made his stomach feel funny things and he could literally feel his heartbeats thumping loudly against his ribcage. Kyungsoo was immobile and didn’t say anything, and this was making his stomach churn in anxiety

 

 

“H-hyung?”

 

 

“Jong-jongin I like you too”

 

 

Jongin could feel that he was about to get a panic attack he dropped on the ground and with his right hand he clutched onto his shirt, kyungsoo who saw the younger drop to the ground bend down too and looked at him,

 

 

“Hy-hyung are you serious?”

 

 

Kyungsoo smiled and nodded, and this time jongin could literally bawl his eyes out, he let out a sniffle and then leaned his body on kyungsoo and engulfed him in a tight hug, kyungsoo chuckled and in return hugged the younger while slowly rubbing his hands comfortingly on the latter’s back, all this time jongin was sobbing silently,

 

 

“Jongin you pabo! You like me so much that you’re crying”

 

 

Jongin could only nod by hugging the elder tightly to his chest.

Jongin made his confession 2 weeks ago, after bawling his eyes out and holding onto kyungsoo like his whole life depended on it, this did make him feel less manly but it was worth it. He knew that kyungsoo was the one, he could literally feel it with all his being. He allowed himself to love his hyung, his kyungsoo, and the elder reciprocated his feelings like the way he wanted him to.

 

Initially he didn’t want to tell his parents fearing his father, but when he told the elder he doesn’t want to hide their relationship, kyungsoo accepted, afterall why should you be ashamed when you found the one. So when they announced it to their parents they were dating they were like oh we always knew it was gonna happen, as Jongin was always mesmerized by kyungsoo and kyungsoo was always looking out for the younger one when he wasn’t paying attention.

 

 

But what made jongin’s heart flutter was when his Jieun aunty hugged him tight and thanked him. He smiled, also breaking the news to his friends wasn’t that difficult Sehun and Tao high-fived saying they somehow knew there was something going on between them and baekhyun and chanyeol got a shock, which resulted in baekhyun hitting chanyeol and saying “What are you waiting for to date me you awful peasant! I don't want to die being single all my life!”

 

 

Apart from that everything was fine, part of the students in school got to know that jongin and kyungsoo were dating, some agreed and some disagreed saying it was immoral and it was a sin but personally both of them didn’t give a about it.

 

 

Currently they were both in kyungsoo’s room, jongin had his head on the lap of the younger, and he had a blissful smile on his face, as kyungsoo was massaging his scalp ever so lightly. The elder was singing Exo’s XOXO and he found this moment perfect,

 

“Baby?”

 

 

“Hmm?”

 

 

“After you graduate what do you want to do?”

 

 

“I was thinking that I should open a bakery or café.”

 

 

While hearing that jongin sat up in indian style facing the elder,

 

 

“You don’t want to sing?”

 

 

Kyungsoo shook his head, while smiling

 

 

“Aniyo! It demands a lot of sacrifices and I’m not sure I’m ready for that”

 

 

“That’s a waste hyung you should sing! Your voice is too precious to be kept.”

 

 

And with that jongin pouted, which made kyungsoo pinch his cheeks

 

 

“Forget about me. What do want to do?”

 

 

“I always wanted to be a dancer, so I thought maybe I’ll open a dance studio or join a company. Yea probably a company”

 

 

“Whoa I’m sure you’re gonna do it nini. Afterall you’re not the college’s iest dancer for nothing!”

 

 

“Hyuuung stop teasing me! But there’s one more thing I want though”

 

 

“And what is that?”

 

 

“To be with you, always, forever and ever. I want us to move in together in an apartment, where we’ll decorate our house as you want. I’ll give you many kisses and hugs, we’ll cuddle in bed or in the kitchen while you’re cooking. At night we’ll love each other and in the morning too. Then I’ll drop you to your workplace and in the afternoon we’ll make dinner together, I mean you’ll be cooking and me showering you with kisses. To sum up I want you to be with me forever and ever.”

 

 

Kyungsoo was blushing all this time, he swore that jongin was the king of cheesiness. But then again it’s this side of his boyfriend that he adores so much. But right now that they’re talking about their future kyungsoo also wanted to admit something to his lover,

 

 

“Jongin?”

 

 

“Yes baby?”

 

 

“I’ve got something to tell you.”

 

 

“Okay”

 

He took jongin’s hand in his and entwined their fingers,

 

 

“Jongin do you remember the time when we were younger and you called me an owl and hooted at me?”

 

 

“I’m really sorry baby I didn’t mean to be so rude to you.”

 

 

“It’s okay, but do you remember the next day you came over and my hyung said mom brought me to the hospital?”

 

 

Jongin could feel an uneasiness filling the atmosphere, he remembered it correctly, and he nodded

 

 

“well that day I accidently fell down and scrapped my knees and you know what happened even if it was a small wound I was literally bleeding like I had  a huge cut across my knee, I kept on bleeding and the sight of the blood made me feel dizzy and I fainted. To sum up the situation when mom saw me like this, she brought me to the hospital and it’s there that the doctor told her that I have Haemophilia.”

 

 

Jongin gasped and widened his eyes, he had a fair knowledge on haemophilia, but knowing that kyungsoo has it made him feel anxious. He held on tightly to their clasped hands and waited for kyungsoo to continue

 

 

“All I wanna say is that I want to be fair towards you. On a regular basis I administer an injection to replace the missing blood. From time to time I get nosebleeds and it’s horrendous and also sometimes due to the injection that I administer, I bleed obnoxiously and I have to be transported to the hospital without any further delay.  We’re together and I don’t want to keep you in the dark and neither want to scare you. But I’m afraid jongin one small wound or cut can cost my life and I don’t want you to suffer because of this. I know we’ve been dating for only 2 weeks and a few days and I preferred to tell you this, when you talked about the future, our future I felt happy really happy but then again I don’t want to be an obstacle in that. It’s up to you to decide if you wanna be with me or no now.”

 

 

Jongin who was still processing all that his boyfriend was saying, could finally connect the dots now so this was the reason why his aunt told him to look after kyungsoo. He unclasped their hands and engulfed his lover in his arms

 

 

“Even if we’re dating for 2 weeks soo that doesn’t mean I’m gonna leave you just because of this. Baby I love you okay I really do. And this disease that you have isn’t an obstacle all we need to do is be very cautious that’s all. I’ll make sure that you won’t get hurt hyung. I’m not leaving, not now nor tomorrow and I’ll be with you until my last breath. You’re my precious baby, my angel whom I really treasure so no. We’re together in this. Arasso?”

 

 

Kyungsoo was slightly sniffling hugged jongin tightly and whispered

 

 

“I love you too and yes I understood and also thank you”

 

 

“Anytime baby. Any time. Just remember that I really, really really love you okay.”

 

 

“Okay.”

 

 

“Cool so can I stay over? I don’t have the heart to leave now. You and your bed is quite tempting actually”

 

“Shut up you punk!”

 

Jongin detached himself from kyungsoo and cupped the elder’s face, he cleared the tears and leaned his forehead onto the other’s,

 

 

“Saranghae”

 

 

“Me too nini. Me too”

 

 

Jongin smiled and softly pressed his plump lips against kyungsoo’s soft ones, they shared a few kisses and soon decided to cuddle and sleep as it was school night and they didn’t want kyungsoo’s mother to barge in and witness them kissing or worse make out.

Kyungsoo was the first one to wake up the next day, he was about to get up but a pair of arms which was securely draped around his waist prevented him to move, with a bit of difficulty he managed to turn around facing his lover, he admired the way jongin’s skin was glowing slightly by the shy sun rays which were coming through the closed curtains, currently his lover had his lips slightly parted and he was whining softly, kyungsoo couldn’t help but trace his boyfriend’s jawline with his finger, jongin’s skin was surprisingly soft, he smiled a little and tentatively pecked his boyfriend’s cheek, the latter stirred a little but he didn’t open his eyes yet, but kyungsoo knew better it was time to wake up and go to school,

 

 

“Jongin ireona”

 

 

“Ummmm”

 

 

He shook his boyfriend a little but in response the latter hugged him close to him

 

 

“Jongin come on wake up! We’ve got to go to college today!”

 

 

“N-No let’s not”

 

 

 

But kyungsoo wasn’t having it afterall he’ll be graduating soon, he needs to attend the last lectures left, he leaned towards jongin’s ear and yelled

 

 

“Aish! Wake up you punk!”

 

 

The latter jolted up from the bed, and rubbed his eyes while pouting slightly

 

 

“Is this a way to treat your boyfriend?”

 

 

“Yes! Now move your arse and go get ready! We need to go to college! I’ve got morning lectures for god sake.”

 

 

 

But jongin had other ideas, he advanced towards his boyfriend who was now rearranging the bed, he hugged the latter from behind which made kyungsoo gasp but didn’t push his touchy boyfriend away,

 

 

“Kyungie let’s bunk today”

 

 

“No jongin! I’m graduating soon and I can’t afford to miss any lectures!”

 

 

“Baby please something doesn’t feel right”

 

 

This managed to stop kyungsoo momentarily, he turned around and cupped his boyfriend’s face

 

 

“Jongin what is it?”

 

 

Jongin placed his hands over kyungsoo’s hands and sighed

 

 

“I don’t know hyung but I feel something is gonna happen! Something bad! And I can’t help but feel restless! Let’s not go today please”

 

 

Kyungsoo sighed and then pecked jongin’s lips softly and pulled back

 

 

“Come on you big baby nothing’s gonna happen okay. Now please go get ready and stop worrying yourself. Sometimes it happens that we feel restless but in the end its okay”

 

 

Unwillingly jongin nodded and made his way back home, but still he couldn’t help but feel anxious. He just prayed that nothing bad happens.

Soon the 2 of them were in the college’s hallway, kyungsoo was about to go to his class but jognin was being extra clingy,

 

 

“Jongin please will you let me go! I’m going in my class it’s not like I’m going to disappear or something”

 

 

Jongin gasped and hugged his boyfriend tighter to him

 

 

“Don’t say such things hyung! It’s not even funny!”

 

 

Kyungsoo sighed and patted jongin’s back

 

 

“Mianhae baby but please let me go.”

 

 

Again unwillingly jongin detached himself from the elder and kissed his boyfriend deeply,

 

“I love you okay?”

 

 

“I love you too nini. Can I go now?”

 

 

Reluctantly he let go of kyungsoo and stared at his boyfriend’s retreating back with a feeling of restlessness, but he tried to brush it off, his boyfriend is okay. So no need to worry, he advanced towards his class where he met Sehun and Chanyeol, the 2 friends saw their friend’s sour mood but decided to let him be a grumpy Jongin tends to get very mean.

 

 

Like this the morning classes went on, and jongin wasn’t feeling okay at all, he was getting more restless and fidgety, how the hell could he concentrate on his lecture, sneakily he took out his mobile and began to text his boyfriend

 

 

To: Squishy ❤️ 

Baby! T^T

 

 

After 5 minutes he got a reply

 

From: Squishy ❤️

What now? >.<

I’m missing you so bad! Can’t wait to see u >3<

I knw! But u’re so clingy >.<

 

Jongin smiled slightly and leaned his head on the table who cares about morning classes any way. After torturing hours of morning classes finally it was time to have lunch, and jongin was so happy. He dashed towards the canteen in hope to spot kyungsoo but no, Baekhyun and Tao were there but no sign of his boyfriend, he approached them feeling disappointed and sat down,

 

 

“Where’s kyungsoo?”

 

 

Baekhyun rolled his eyes at him

 

 

“Morning to you too you ungrateful brat! And to answer your question kyungie was talking to our lecturer about some notes he didn’t understand so he told me to tell you he’s gonna be a bit late!”

 

 

Jongin sighed and averted his eyes to the canteen’s entry, he didn’t want to see his friends who now joined the table getting flirty with their partners. 10 minutes passed and still no kyungsoo, and the feeling of restlessness resurfaced. He wanted to call the elder but was afraid to disturb him. Like this 30 minutes went by and he was getting more anxious! Where the hell is his boyfriend!

 

 

He was about to go and search for his boyfriend but before he could do that Seoyeon came running to him and clung onto his arm, she was a crying mess, he tried to pry his arms from her but couldn’t free himself from her grip

 

 

“what the ing hell seoyeon leave my arm will you”

 

 

“J-Jongin I’m s-sorry”

 

 

“It’s been 2 weeks seoyeon! Leave it! Let me find go my boyfriend okay! Leave me my arm!”

 

 

He was trying to move but seoyeon didn’t leave him, he got angry and pushed her

 

 

“What the actual ing hell is your problem damn it!”

 

 

“K-kyungsoo h-he—“

 

 

Jongin felt more alerted when he heard his boyfriend’s name from his ex, he approached her and  held her arms tightly, and glared at her

 

 

“what did you do to him?”

 

 

But before she could speak someone else came running to jongin

 

 

“Jongin please go save kyungsoo! He fell down the stairs and is bleeding a lot! He got bruises over his body too! We just found him lying down unconscious!”

 

 

Jongin who heard the word blood and brusies rapidly dashed towards the staircase where he see off his boyfriend  in the morning, when he reached there he saw people surrounding his boyfriend who was now in a bleeding mess, he could feel his heart beats accelerated he pushed everyone who were holding his boyfriend he bend down on the ground and pulled kyungsoo’s head onto his lap while tapping his face

 

 

“Baby! Baby wake up! Baby please wake up don’t do this to me! Wake up please wake up!”

 

 

He kept on chanting baby wake up but kyungsoo didn’t open his eyes, jognin was now crying and was holding onto kyungsoo, Sehun who was near him immediately decided it was time to take the elder to the hospital

 

 

“Jongin let’s bring him to the hospital let’s go please!”

 

 

That was now when it clicked jongin mind, he needs to bring kyungsoo to the hospital, the elder needs medical help immediately. He lifted his now unconscious boyfriend in his arms and ran to the parking lot with his friends following closely behind.

For jongin the car ride to the hospital was scary, kyungsoo was bleeding excessively, he tried to stop kyungsoo from bleeding by pressing a cloth on the wounds but it didn’t help at all, his clothes were now tainted with kyungsoo’s blood, and kyungsoo was still unconscious scaring him to death.

 

 

When they got inside the hospital he couldn’t even say a word so Sehun just told the doctor what happened and they rushed kyungsoo to the operation theatre. It’s been nearly half an hour since kyungsoo was inside, jongin was on the bench and was frozen and still clutching on the cloth that he used to stop the bleeding of the wounds, he still couldn’t over the fact that his boyfriend is in there fighting to live, he didn’t want to be negative but he was scared, scared to bits that he’ll lose his lover.

 

 

His parents, kyungsoo’s parents, Minseok, luhan and even his friends were there. As soon as his jieun aunty came she broke down completely when Chanyeol told her that some students harmed kyungsoo in college and pushed him down the stairs. Jongin didn’t want to hear anything, all he wanted was his boyfriend to be okay.

 

 

After what seemed an eternity the doctor came out, jongin sprang up from his seat but when he saw the doctor’s expression he felt like he was going to faint,

 

 

“I’m extremely sorry, we tried our best to stop the bleeding but we couldn’t! The impact that he had, made him bleed internally and his brain got a huge blood clot, I’m afraid to say that but given the fact that the patient is already attained of haemophilia and he’s delicate we can’t do any surgery as it could lead to severe consequences, he may be paralysed or even go into coma. We administered him some blood but his body kept on rejecting it! I’m really sorry my team and I tried our best but we can’t do more than this. He gained consciousness for now but… I’m extremely sorry.”

 

 

And with that the doctor walked away, Jongin felt sick, he could hear kyungsoo’s parents cry, but he didn’t want to bother. His boyfriend is leaving him, kyungsoo is dying and he didn’t keep his promise! A nurse came out and said

 

 

“Who is jongin? The patient wants to meet him!”

 

 

Jongin nodded at the nurse and with heavy steps he got inside the OT, as soon as he saw kyungsoo he felt like he was going to die. His boyfriend had all sort of wires attached to him, a huge bandage was wrapped around his head and had an oxygen mask on, and he couldn’t see anything anymore as he was crying hard,

 

 

“J-Jongin p-please c-come h-here!”

 

 

Without wasting time he ran towards his boyfriend, and sat down on the stool while holding kyungsoo’s hand tightly between his palms, kyungsoo who now removed his oxygen mask was smiling slightly at him

 

 

“H-hey why are you c-crying?”

 

 

Jongin couldn’t help it any more he let out a sob

 

 

“I- b-baby I’m sorry. I didn’t protect you I didn’t keep my promise. I’m so sorry forgive me kyungsoo forgive me!”

 

 

Kyungsoo squeezed his boyfriend hand and said

 

 

“y-you k-ept your p-promise nini.”

 

 

“Aniyo if I did you wouldn’t have been here like this.”

 

 

“It’s o-okay don’t b-blame yourself. B-baby hear me o-out”

 

Jongin nodded and tugged their clasped hands to his chest

 

 

“P-promise me y-you’ll l-live normally e-even if I’m n-not h-here”

 

 

“Aniyo! Aniyo! I don’t wanna! Kyungsoo, baby we’ve got so much to do together! We have so many things to do! And no I don’t wanna live without you!”

 

 

And again jongin started to sob, kyungsoo who saw this state of his boyfriend couldn’t help but cry too,

 

 

“J-jongin baby p-please! F-for me! D-do it for m-me”

 

 

“No! No! I need you hyung just you.”

 

 

“S-stop being s-stuborn you! I-I want you to b-become the best dancer that the w-world could e-ever s-see!”

 

 

“Hyung please”

 

“Jongin p-promise m-me”

 

By biting back a sob he nodded

 

“I promise!”

 

 

“Good! Nini?”

 

 

Jongin stood up and cupped his boyfriend’s face

 

 

“Yes baby?”

 

 

“I- I Love you so much”

 

 

Jongin smiled through his tears, and pecked his boyfriend’s lips

 

 

“I know soo and I love you too so much”

 

 

“I- I know. Jongin?”

 

 

“Yes?”

 

 

“You were my crush!”

 

 

Jongin gasped and then tenderly began to caress the cheek of his lover,

 

 

“I’m speechless what can I say more? I feel so loved right now”

 

 

Kyungsoo smiled and said

 

 

“N-nothing! Hug me b-baby p-please”

 

 

Jongin nodded and ever so gently leaned his body over kyungsoo and then hugged his boyfriend close to him, he was reeling in the feeling of having his lover in his arms, he felt complete, but he knew this was the last time he’s gonna hold his boyfriend, his angel, his precious love. He held kyungsoo’s body close to him and could feel his boyfriend sobbing silently, he pecked his boyfriend’s forehead and hugged him again, saying these words killed him but he had to say it

 

 

“K-kyungsoo b-baby you’re my precious angel. But I guess now it’s time to say goodbye. Bye my love just don’t forget me wherever you go. I’ll always love you and will do anything to keep the promise I made to you. Whatever Kim Jongin would do from now on he’ll do it for his love Do Kyungsoo. Bye my baby soo sleep well. Saranghae forever and ever.”

 

 

It was like kyungsoo needed to hear these words from his boyfriend, he took a deep yet painful breath and soon in the silent room, we could hear the machine attached to him beep simultaneously and jongin loud sobs could be heard outside of the OT.

Right now Jongin was infront of the tombstone of his boyfriend. It’s been 5 years since kyungsoo left him and never once he forgot to visit his boyfriend who meant so much to him. After kyungsoo’s death, he began to live on auto pilot, he remembered crying in his jieun aunty’s arms asking her to forgive him and for not keeping the promise he made to her but she kissed his forehead and told him he did, and he made his son the happiest person ever until his last breath.

 

 

Jongin looked at his boyfriend’s tombstone with teary eyes, he laid a red rose on the middle and then began to speak

 

 

“Hey baby, guess who is here? It’s me you’re ever so clingy boyfriend! Hope you’re fine? Ah what can I tell you? Being an idol is literally tiring I tell you. As you know I joined the band which you liked. You remember EXO? Yea! I’m their lead dancer in that group and I’m a rapper too but it’s literally tiring with this hectic schedule and I recently hurt my leg too! I know if you were here you would’ve fussed about this and nurse me and pamper me with your love. Sehun and Tao are in a long distance relationship as the latter is in his home country china so he’s being extra clingy to me and keeps on whining all the time!”

 

 

“Baekhyun and Chanyeol are married secretly! Yea those idiots! Can’t believe they did it without any fear of the management! But I know if you would’ve been here I would’ve done the same thing though. But what is more important is that Seoyeon is still jail for what she did to you! I know that she said that she’s gonna make me regret for what I did to her but I never knew that she’ll make me pay by snatching you away from me.”

 

 

Jongin cleared his tears and resumed on talking

 

 

“The guys who inflicteded you so many bruises are also in jail. The newest development I know is that it’s Seyoen who persuaded them to harm you and when you were hazy she just pushed you down the stairs. That ing ! Currently my lawyers are seeing to it that they never come out. I’ll make them pay for what they’ve done to you!”

 

 

“Oh and yea I recently bought an apartment in Gangnam, I somehow decorated it according to your taste and guess what I helped Jieun aunty to open a bakery and you know what? We named it after your name baby. Isn’t that great? Its luhan and Minseok who are handling the business and oh yea they’re also married and adopted a girl. Haha! Ah she’s really cute I tell you. You would’ve adored her so much.”

 

 

“Baby I kept your promise you know. I’m Kim Kai now but still there’s something missing baby and it’s you! I feel that each day is getting hard for me to live, kyungsoo I miss you! Sure we didn’t date for a longtime and I regret it! I regret that we wasted so much time in being awkward and not talking! The sooner we talked the sooner I would’ve been with you! But that’s okay too I guess, for the short span of time that we were together I was happy and felt loved by you. I still live with your memories love, I still imagine your singing voice lulling me to sleep. My whole existence is dedicated to you love. I love you so much baby! So much! I yearn for you every day wishing that you’ll be here in my arms forever. But I know that i can’t have it. If only I could go back in time and rewind everything I would’ve stop that incident from happening.”

 

Jongin bend down and brushed the tombstone gently, and then stood up

 

 

“I guess that’s it for now baby. I’ll see you tomorrow! Bye bye and Saranghae forever and ever.”

 

 

And this what kim Jongin had been doing everyday, no matter how hectic his schedule was he always managed to come and meet his boyfriend, people were dying to know if jongin was single but his answer was always no, I’m in a committed relationship. His band members asked him to move on but his answers was the same, no I did it for kyungsoo I’m no more living for me but for both of us. Kim jongin’s existence is solely based on his one and only love Do Kyungsoo.

Personally i never really prefer sad endings or character deaths . Still i tried to write this one. Hope it was up to expectations. *sigh* >.<

 

Anyways i've been dying in feels when i saw all those Kaisoo moments in Manila. Not that i'm complaining we need more ^0^
