Chapter 3
Passerby
It never once feeling awkward with him in SNS. We always have a lot of things to talk about in ten minutes. Weather, recent news, books, even a stranger passerby can become a hot topic for ten minutes. He would have more time in SNS at weekdays, usually Tuesday and Wednesday and we’ll talk a whole day. Then he would get busy in weekend and thirty minute is all I have. Ten minutes in morning, ten minutes in lunch, and ten minutes before bed.
Did I told you that Halla also went to the same college as us, same major with Sehun? I’m not jealous. Really. Halla is a very good hoobae. She recognized me as Sehun’s book buddy and sometime greet me in the hallway. She indeed looks pretty without her make-up on, looks so pure Sehun said. But still, I slightly feel awkward to her. Slightly hate.
Sehun, despite of his busy schedule, always have time to have a chat with me in school. He said I was his runaway from fans who would always follow him everywhere. We have this favorite bubble tea store nearby where not many students come here, Dul-Eo. He would order me taro bubble tea for me and chocolate bubble tea for himself then he would start the console time.
I remembered first time coming to the Dul-Eo was the time when his Kris-hyung decided to leave the group. He dragged me by force from library, taking a longer route exiting the building and ended up in this bubble tea store. Black sunglasses and black shade covering his pale face and red eyes. He told me everything I wish he wouldn’t. But indeed he told me everything, like literally everything. He sobbed a lot. That’s when I realized something. He’s not as useless as they said.
“What again today, Mr. Oh?” was my first sentence after he dragged me all the way from canteen to Dul-Eo while I was still chewing my precious sandwich.
“Is that your first greeting after a month?” he said while giving me his child-like smile.
“Was that how you treat me after a freaking month we didn’t see each other and you didn’t even bother to reply my text? Drag me all the way from canteen to this place, not bother taking a longer route, and passing your group of fans who gave me death glare saying ‘who-are-you-to-our-precious-Oh-Sehun? Is that even fair? God!”
He laughed. Well, I was expecting something more than that.
“Laugh? Funny? Great, Oh Sehun. I’m leaving.”
“Sunbaae~ Don’t leave. I’m sorry, okay? Really really sorry. Sorry for not replying your text, I just too busy lately. I didn’t even realized that. I’m sorry for dragging you….”
“…dragging me forcefully…”
“I’m sorry for dragging you forcefully, okay?”
“Fine.”
“Yehet! Smile then, sunbae. Why still pouting like that.”
“I smile when I want to smile. Don’t tell me what to do.”
“Got it. Got it. Taro again for today?”
“I drink taro yesterday. Make it Strawberry Smoothies for today.”
“It’s on me today.”
“Yah!”
“Why why why?”
“I don’t take money from idol, Oh Sehun. In case you forget.”
“I don’t forget. Take it as my treat. End of conversation.”
“Whatever.”
He headed to cashier and order for one strawberry smoothies with less sugar, lesser ice, and more whipped cream for me and Okinawa classic tea for himself.
“Lemon-sshi. Order for Lemon-sshi.” said the barista.
“Who the hell named Lemon?” I said.
“That’s ours, sunbae. Wait, I’ll go take it.”
He back couple of seconds later with my strawberry smoothies and his Okinawa classic, along with a slice of red velvet cake.
“Why Lemon?” I asked him.
“Cannot possibly be Sehun, right?”
“Then why not my name?”
“I don’t want to use yours.”
“Who the hell is Lemon?”
“First name crossing my head was Lemony Snicket. That’s all.”
“Jerk.”
“You’re welcome, pretty. Strawberry smoothies with less sugar, lesser ice, and overflowing whipped cream, yours. Okinawa classic for me and red velvet for you.”
“I didn’t ask you for the red velvet thing.”
“Just eat it.”
“Tell me a reason why I have to eat it.”
“You didn’t eat since yesterday, right?”
“I ea
