Since their Gayo Daejun stage, the media was suspiscious of the relationship between Yoona and Taecyeon. Though there was no truth to it, the networks wanted to embrace the interest from the public. Talk shows invited them and asked them about their relationship which they both denied good naturedly. While SM and JYP thought it was good publicity for their groups, they also realized that if it became a reality the public’s curiosity could quickly turn sour.

SBS scouted Taecyeon and Yoona to be regulars on a revamped version of Family Outing featuring current idols. However, their casting was contingent on both of them joining. The rough scripts presented to JYP Entertainment and SM Entertainment for the first few episodes suggested a possible relationship between Taecyeon and Yoona, but revealing nothing concrete. Yoona was reluctant, but gave in to pressure from the promotion division. Taecyeon on the other hand was conflicted about the offer. He was still not quite not over Yoona. He saw her at shows or gatherings with friends, but they no longer met one-on-one anymore. One would think not seeing her would make it easier to get over her, but instead it made him miss her even more. Jessica tried to help him charm Yoona through scripted romance between them on the show, but Yoona was well aware of Jessica’s involvement. Unable to talk any sense into the stubborn SNSD member, Yoona realized the only way was to address the issue with Taecyeon again.

Yoona stepped out of the elevator onto the bottom floor of the SM building’s underground parking garage. Access to this particular level of the garage was restricted to high-ranked executives and the SM celebrities who have earned their status within the company, requiring a keycard to enter. Yoona stood by the driver’s side door of her Volkswagon as she silently scanned the garage. There were a few vehicles in the lot. Not many executive stayed this late, but some of the actors and singers stayed late to practice.

Convinced the garage was empty, she checked the time. It was already 1 AM. Taecyeon was late. Yoona was not worried. She felt same in the SM building. Even in the off-chance that someone came to the lot in the middle of the night, what happened in the SM family, stayed in the SM family. Yoona noticed Tiffany’s Chevrolet and a couple of the Super Junior’s Audis in the lot. She was wondering why Tiffany was still there when she heard a faint tapping on the metal gate separating this level of the garage from the rest of the garage. She opened her car door and pressed a remote button, raising the gate. Taecyeon parked his manager’s car next to her. His tall, lean figure stepped out of the car in one swift movement. He gave her an awkward grin as they made eye contact before closing his door and leaning against her car beside her. She looked up at him as he stared out into the empty garage, avoiding eye contact with her.
