He likes me....

Torments In Powder Pink

“Do it a-again....”

Those words echoed in his mind, sending him cascading into an uncontrollable wreck. His head told him no to but his feet disagreed, turning him around and walking him straight over to where Sungmin lay. Kneeling down again, he looked deeply into Sungmin's face. He waited a few moments for him to say something else before he prompted him with:

“do what again?” his words solid and definite.

Stirring gently in his sleep, he replied “mmmm, that thing you did before...... I-I think I l-liked it.”

That was enough for Kyuhyun, he couldn't stay there any longer and trust that he would be able to control himself. Those words were all he needed. He may only be dreaming but dreams don't count for anything do they? Its said that dreams are subconscious wish fulfilment. So was Sungmin fulfilling a wish? Rising to his feet once again, Kyuhyun ordered himself to move. His heart was pounding, and his body was telling him to scoop the sleeping man into his arms and kiss him again – like he had sleep-asked – but he knew it was wrong. He would wait until morning. Until a new day had fully awoken.

The short walk to his room seemed almost labourours and Kyuhyun had that familiar quick-sand feeling on his feet. When he reached his bed, he allowed his limbs to go completely limp, causing him ungracefully to flop onto the bed. Like it took every effort to move, he shuffled up the bed, shimmying his body from side to side until his head was up on his pillow. Sleep was in no hurry that night.

*

Sungmin awoke. The sun through a slither in his curtains, typically managing to land one of his eyes, creating a bright line of light down his face. Opening his eyes only to squeeze them shut again straight away, Sungmin sighed deeply. He blindly reached over the the alarm clock on his bed side table, recovering it and bringing it to his face. Squinting his eyes to look at it, he exclaimed: “Eleven O'clock!”. In a panic he immediately threw himself forward, evidently forgetting the amount of alcohol he had consumed the previous night, but remembering as soon as he felt a searing pain through his head. Clutching his hand to his head he flopped back onto his bed. Oh yeah, he thought as realisation set in. With this came the remembrance of the kiss – the second time a sudden remembrance came. Strangely this time, he felt a little more calm about it. Maybe Eunhyuk's words really did help.

Thinking he needed to move and get a drink of water to try to settle the vicious headache that was spreading over his head, Sungmin got up and headed out of his room, kitchen bound. Not seconds after leaving his rood did he regret it. On rounding the corner, he was faced with Kyuhyun stood – with his back to him - in the kitchen , making breakfast. He was stopped in his tracks for mere seconds before hurriedly turning and heading back to his room. The head ache would have to wait. Kyuhyun, who had heard Sungmin's door open, heard the footsteps on the floor and the timid breaths and the return steps of someone running away, shouted in an effort to stop them.

“I heard you. Come in here. Breakfast is ready”, his voice as cheery as possible although his stomach was going somersaults.

Sungmin stopped in his tracks upon hearing his voice. He really didn't want to do this today. Quieter than before, he tried to continue his escape.

“I can hear you. Come here!” the other man ordered again.

Taking a deep breath and turning around, Sungmin headed back for the kitchen. I guess I have to face it sometime. Head hanging low and focusing on his feet, he forced himself to move towards the waiting man, feeling as though he was walking to his execution.

“Sit at the table, I'll bring the food over” announced Kyuhyun. Sungmin obeyed, choosing the closest seat to him; the closest to his bedroom. Tentatively he pulled out the seat, still staring at his feet. Sitting down, his feet were no longer visible, so his hands took their place. Straight away, Kyuhyun brought the food over and Sungmin could smell it, instantly making him feel naucious. Placing it down, Kyuhyun sat down, choosing the seat opposite Sungmin.

“Enjoy!” Said Kyuhyun with a smile.

Sungmin reached forward and picked up some of the bacon, attempting to eat it, but with every inch it got closer to his mouth, the sicker he started to feel. He didn't know whether it was because of how much he'd drunk the night before or just how tense he was feeling. Rejecting his thoughts, he brought the food to his lips only to rip it away again in defeat. Kyuhyun saw this and couldn't help but feel anxious.

“No good? Want me to make you something else?” Asked Kyuhyun.

Speak! Break the ice! “N-no. Its f-fine. I just think I d-drank too much. I don't feel w-well,” finishing with a daring glance up to Kyuhyuns face which his instantly regretted when he realised it was fixed on him, making him feel much worse.

Not entirely convinced, Kyuhyun tried to peruse it further, asking him: “are you sure? I mean, are you sure that's all that's wrong?” He knew one other possibility, but he daren't voice it. He wanted Sungmin to bring the topic up.

Without thinking, Sungmin answered: “t-there's nothing else that could be wrong.” Then the answer seemed so clear: I'll pretend I don't remember.

Confused, Kyuhyun asked: “Nothing? Nothing at all? Nothing happen last night that bothered you?” His eyes were almost burning a hole into Sungmin's head while he willed him to say it.

If I'm going to covince him, I need to be strong. “Not that I can remember. It was a great night, why would anything have bothered me? ” he replied, looking up at Kyuhyuns face fully now. He saw those big brown eyes slowly blink as he completed his statement, disappointment evident on his face. He doesn't remember?!

“Oh. Okay then.”

Kyuhyun couldn't help but feel disappointed, bringing his gaze down to his plate to mask it.. Back at stage one. He played with his food a bit, pushing the scraps around his plate with his fork, then it hit him: Why would he try to run away from me if he doesn't remember? Other times when he's hungover, he pesters me for drinks and painkillers. That can't be the only thing that's wrong with him! Well if that's how you want to play it.....

Bringing his gaze up to meet Sungmin's once again, narrowing his eyes slightly, he asked: “so.... you're okay with me kissing you?” His question was blunt, his eyes stern. Sungmin's eyes widened in shock before blinking several times in quick succession.

“Wh-what? You didn't ki-kiss me!” he shouted.

Kyuhyun grinned- he had him right where he wanted him. Allowing a smug look to take over his features, he announced: “I did. Last night, after we won. I kissed you.” He watched as Sungmin broke their gaze and started to fidget in his seat.

“I kissed you,” he repeated, the words strong and definite, hovering in the air between them before slowly dissipating. His eyes were now burning straight through Sungmin.

Without a seconds notice, Sungmin dived up from his seat and hurtled himself towards the hallway, in seek of his bedroom for refuge. But he wasn't quick enough. Kyuhyun, sensing the tension, and predicting Sungmin's reaction, was ready to move. So when he finally did, Kyuhyun pounced at him, grabbing at his wrists and dragging him to the nearest wall. A little rougher than meant, he pushed Sungmin up against it, slamming the palms of his hand to the wall either side of his head.

“You're not getting away from this that easy,” he told the almost cowering Sungmin who was before him, holding his back hard against the wall. He felt so angry, but he didn't quite know why. Passion?

“Look at me.” He ordered, receiving no movement from the smaller man. “Look at me,” he said again, this time more forcefully. Still no movement. Defeated he lowered his head, leaving it to hang on his shoulders hovering just centimetres above Sungmin's shoulder. It was rare that he was this close to him so he took the opportunity to breathe in his scent. It was the typical manly smell with the gentlest hint of strawberries. Kyuhyun had to control himself from kissing him again. Moving his head further down, he gently brushed his nose against Sungmin's shoulder eliciting a low gasp, bringing him back to reality. I have to make him talk now or else it will never happen, he thought.

“Sungmin,” his voice now softer but still stern. He raised his head to look at Sungmin again who had his head turned fully to the side, his eyes squeezed tightly shut. “I kissed you.”

Sungmin shook his head. “No.”

“I did.” Kyuhyun said, slowly moving his head so that his lips were close to Sungmin's ear.

“No. No!” Sungmin shouted.

Kyuhyun voice now a soft whisper. Sungmin could feel the soft breath against his ear, pushing him over the edge. “I did it because I li........”

Not wanting to hear anymore, he harshly pushed one of Kyuhyun's unsteady arms out of the way and darted to his bedroom, not stopping until he was safely in his room with his door shut. He was successful that time. Slamming the door he pushed his forehead against it, panting heavily and relying on the wall to hold him up. His heart felt like it was going to beat through his chest and he tried in vain to calm his breathing. Slowly he lowered himself to the floor, not trusting his legs to hold him up any longer. When on the floor, he turned around so that his back was leaning against the door. Bringing his hands up to his pounding head, he cried.

On the other side of the door, Kyuhyun sat down. He had tried to catch Sungmin but wasn't quick enough, feeling the full brunt of a door slamming in his face. Defeated, he leaned back against the door and closed his eyes.

Feeling utterly helpless, Sungmin started to wrack his brain. What am I going to do? Things can't stay like this. There was no answer that seemed clear. Giving up, he stood up and walked to his bed-side table to find his phone. He would ring Eunhyuk. He was his oldest friend and he had experience since he's in a relationship with Donghae... plus he knows about the kiss. Grabbing at his phone and searching though his phone-book, he found Eunhyuk's name and dialled the number. After a couple of rings, he answered.

“Hey Sungmin. What's up?” he asked, voice as cheery as ever.

“Eunhyuk! You need to help me!” his voice breaking slightly.

“Hyung, whats wro,-hahahaha.... Donghae, get away, don't tickle me there, haha...... sorry, just a minute” the sound of a fight followed by Donghae pleading for mercy could be heard at the other end of the phone. “Sorry about that hyung, he's gone now. What's wrong?” Concern was evident in his voice.

“What am I going to do about Kyuhyun. I saw him this morning and he was pushing me about the kiss, trying to get me to talk about it. I don't know what to do!” panic rising in his voice, making him breathless.

“First of all, you need to calm down!” He ordered, hearing Sungmin taking deep breaths down the phone. “Good. So, did you talk to him about it?”

“NO!” he shouted back, almost shocked. “Why would I talk to him about it?!”

“Well, he did kiss you. Its not really something that can be brushed under the carpet.”

“But I don't want to talk about it.......... Why did he kiss me?!” Sungmin shouted and Eunhyuk could almost hear the pout at the other end.

~

Outside, Kyuhyun was roused by the sound of shouting coming from within Sungmin's room. Out of curiosity he turned around, placing his ear against the door, only to hear Sungmin acknowledge the kiss. His mouth dropped open in shock as his moved his head away and stared at the door, contemplating going in but deciding to just listen instead.

~

“Oh hyung. Grow up. You're both adults. You've lived together for years now and you're both so close. If you can't talk about the kiss, then you don't deserve to be friends.” Announced Eunhyuk, his voice forceful.

Sungmin pondered this for a few seconds before saying: “But what if he asks me how I feel about it?” sounding genuinely concerned.

“How do you feel about it?” Eunhyuk enquired.

Stopping again to organize his thoughts and sift through his feelings, he slowly said: “I.. I think I.... liked it......”

~

Kyuhyun moved his head away from the door again, his face a mixture of shock, happiness and excitement. He does remember me kissing him AND he liked it!

~

Shouts of happiness and the pounding of feet could be heard down the phone – an obvious sign that a happy dance was being done. “Oh hyung!! That's great!! You have to tell him!”

“NO! I can't” Protested Sungmin, panicking again.

“Of course you can. You have to! You liked it, so you must like him. He kissed you, so he obviously likes you. What reason is there not to?”

Sungmin hadn't thought about it like that. He likes me.

Getting bored of the silence, Eunhyuk repeated: “You have to tell him!” this time more forceful.

“I have to go. I'll ring you tomorrow or something. Bye” Sungmin hung up the phone, placing it on the bed next to him. He was in genuine shock. How had he not realised this before. Bringing his hand up to his face he placed his fingers on his lips like he had done the night of of the kiss.

He likes me......
