Seo Joohyun or Joohyun Seo as she had been known ever since she moved to the United Kingdom, was walking calmly, pushing her cart through King Cross station, trying not to look too suspicious as she casually walked between Platform 9 and 10 to Platform 9 ¾ or should she say… through it?

This was her fifth year as a Hogwarts’ student but she had a feeling that this would be a special year, mainly because along with her Hogwarts’ letter this year a prefect badge came along with it, but also because four of her friends were graduating this year. She was sort of sad, because next year the other four would graduate and that would make her the last Korean girl in Hogwarts the year after that, but right now she didn’t want to think about that.

She wanted to focus on the fact that she wanted to make the best out of this year and create great memories with all her friends.

Suddenly, she was brought out of her thoughts as a floating pack of pumpkin bread came in her direction.

“Take it Seohyun.” Tiffany said in her great and almighty English, as she eye-smiled . “I know you love it.”

“Thank you Tiffany.” Seohyun replied with a shy smile, even after all the time they’ve spent in the UK she still couldn’t get fully accustomed to the fact that she didn’t call her older friends ‘unnies’, but they had been the ones who insisted that since they were in the UK they should stop using it and that they should try to communicate in English in order to perfect their knowledge of the language.

“I feel so cool for being able to use magic outside of Hogwarts.” Tiffany said with an excited smile on her features.

“You’re still excited? Didn’t you turn seventeen like a month ago?” Hyoyeon said with a teasing smile as she approached the girls.

“Please, I’ve been able to use magic since March and I’m still excited.” Taeyeon appeared behind Hyoyeon with a smirk on her features, Seohyun didn’t fail to notice the way Tiffany’s eyes lightened up at the sight of Taeyeon.

“Yet you look younger than Seohyun.” Yoona said as she got closer to them with a bright smile, her arm place itself naturally over Seohyun’s shoulder, causing the latter to blush at feeling her older friend so close.

“Well, for your info, London girls love the fact that I look so young, they all think I’m super cute.” Taeyeon said cockily.

“How do you know that?” Tiffany asked her, her brows furrowed.

“Yuri and I went to a muggle club in London the other day, the girls seemed to love us, you know with us being all exotic since we’re Korean and stuff, but I didn’t find anyone that caught my eye.” She said, staring deeply into Tiffany’s eyes, the rest of them chuckled, wondering when would those two confess their feelings and start dating.

“You went to a club with her, Kwon Yuri?” Suddenly Jessica’s voice sounded from behind them, Yuri stood beside her, pushing the cart of the older girl while Jessica just held her cat, Krystal.

“I was staying in the Leaky Cauldron with Yoona, Seohyun and Taeyeon…Taeyeon really wanted to go and of course Seohyun didn’t want to go and if she doesn’t want then it means Yoona isn’t going, and I was not going to let this kid wondering around.” Yuri said calmly before she kissed Jessica’s cheek.

Jessica blushed at the action but tried to act nonchalant.

“I’ll go say goodbye to my parents.” Jessica said and left quickly.

“Oohh, did anything interesting happen between you and our Jessica during vacations?” Sooyoung said as she arrived.

Yuri opened to answer but just then Professor Lockwood started motioning the students, requesting them to get into the train since it was nearly eleven.

“I’ll tell you once Jessica is with us in the train, okay?”

“No~” Whined Seohyun cutely, causing the other girls to look at her weirdly, since the younger one rarely acted cute, consciously at least. “I’m a prefect, I won’t be with you during the train ride.”

“Well, how about we talk after dinner in the great hall? You know that once Professor McGonagall gives her speech and they sort the new kids into their respective houses we can go to Myrtle’s bathroom.” They all nodded.

“Ok, but we don’t have to take long, remember it’ll be my duty to the new Ravenclaw students to their dorms.”

They entered the train, looking for an empty cabin, they always sat together, although they always cramped, even more so since they weren’t small kids anymore, they didn’t care as long as they got to be together.

Seohyun took a small bag she had separated from the rest of her stuff, containing her uniform and her prefect badge.

“Well, I have to go and change into my uniform to start with my duties as a prefect.” She stood up to leave and Yoona stood up at the same time.

“What… what is your first duty?” The older one asked as the rest of the girls elbowed each other, eyeing intently their interaction.

“Well… I just have to patrol around a bit, checking that no students are breaking the rules for a while.” She smiled shyly at the older one.

“You make it sound so cool.” Yoona said, scratching the back of her neck with her hand. “You think I could… come with you?”

“Wow, so unexpected, Yoona offering to be with Seohyun.” Taeyeon said while she laughed, her hand unconsciously lay on Tiffany’s leg.

“You don’t have to come with me.” Seohyun said, ignoring the teasing comments that could be heard in the background, Yoona just smiled brightly at her and she felt her heart skip a beat.

“I want to, don’t worry.”

“Okay let’s go.”

They both changed quickly and Yoona offered to head back quickly to their cabin to pack their clothes again, once Yoona came back, they both headed off.

They started walking through the cabins and Yoona couldn’t help but gaze at Seohyun that walked, her look turned proud as she stared at the prefect badge that was placed on Seohyun’s chest.

“Yoona… what are you looking at?” Seohyun asked with a bright blush on her cheeks, Yoona then realized how weird it must look from the outside the way she was staring at Seohyun’s chest.

“Am… I was looking at your prefect badge.” She said as she smiled awkwardly at the younger one, Seohyun smiled back… just as awkwardly of course.

“Look, we reached the last cabin.” Seohyun pointed out. Yoona noticed it was closed, so she tried to open it, only to find it was locked.

“How weird…it’s closed and locked.” Yoona said at Seohyun, the latter just frowned at this.

Seohyun knocked on the door, figuring that maybe someone was sleeping inside and when she received no reply she took out her wand and softly whispered. “Alohomora.”

The door unlocked and they opened it quickly, they were surprised to find a student laying on the floor, Yoona leaned down, wanting to help him but Seohyun stopped her.

“Go look for Professor Lockwood.” The younger said with an unreadable expression, eyes glossing over the figure on the floor.

“Why?” Yoona said. “We should just help him!” She yelled, surprised at Seohyun’s behavior.

“Yoona, he’s cursed!” She yelled back. “If any of us touches him we’ll be cursed too!”

“How can you know? We can’t just leave him like that!”

“Yoona, look at his eyes.” Seohyun said calmly, Yoona took a peek at the student’s open eyes, noticing that they were a bright blue turquoise, no pupil to be found. Yoona nodded, knowing that the younger one was more observant than she was and suddenly feeling a bit dumb for yelling at her for being cautious.

“Go for Professor Lockwood, I’ll wait here.” Yoona nodded and sped, heading directly to the mentioned professor’s cabin.

“Professor!” She exclaimed, feeling breathless from running.

“What is it Im.” He said; a tone of annoyance in his voice.

“Seo and I found a student, she thinks he’s cursed!” And with that, the professor stood up, letting Yoona guide him to where the student was and couldn’t help but wonder if this was the start of what McGonagall had told him seven years ago, before these Korean girls made their appearance in this place where she knew they didn’t belong.

When they got into the cabin, the professor immediately kneeled and approached him, not daring to touch him, after checking him carefully; he realized that the young girl was right.

“He’s indeed cursed,” He did some motions with his wand, causing the student to levitate and then he placed him on the seat. “How did you know, Ms. Seo?” He asked her, a weird expression in his eyes.

“I remember reading in the Defense against the Dark Arts text book that you recommended us that when a person’s cursed their pupils disappear and their iris turns turquoise.”

The professor just nodded, and he didn’t look fully convinced.

“Lend me your wands.” The girls handed him the wands with no hesitation, which caused him to hesitate.

He checked the last spells used on both wands, only to find harmless ones.

“Leave, I’ll take care of him.” The girls just nodded. “Don’t get out of your cabin, okay?”

“Yes, Sir.” Seohyun said and with that, she took Yoona’s hand in hers and led her to the cabin where the rest of the girls will be.

During their ride Yoona and Seohyun told the other girls what had happened, only to be welcomed with horrified and surprised expression.

“What a way to start the school year…” Yuri said; her tone very serious.

All of them just nodded along, not having the slightest idea of what had just started for them.

First of all, I just want to remind you that Hogwarts invites all the kids that turn eleven before September first(ex. Hermione is a year older than Harry and Hermione but since she turned 11 on September 19 they sent her her letter at the same time they did to Harry and Ron), so Hyoyeon and Yuri would recieve their letters at the same time Sooyoung and Yoona because of that, not because I'm making them a year younger or something like that :)

Also, I'd really like to thank you because so far I have over 150 subscribers and I must admit the preview I gave you wasn't exactly my best work. This first chapter is more like an introduction of what is about to come, I hope you are patient since next week I have three exams and I really want to think throughly the chapters, but I'll try to make lengthy chapter to make it up :)
