Author’s POV

After an hour crying endlessly, Jiyeon finally had calmed down a little and apologizes to Shannon for having to see that side of her.

“I’m sorry you had to stay here in the cold with me” she answered as they were still on the side road of the busy city.

“It’s ok, unnie… Are you ok now?” Shannon asked considerably.

“Yes, I’m fine… let’s go home now… you must be freezing already” Jiyeon said and stands up to hail for a cab to ride.

Inside the cab both of them remained silent, Shannon wanted to talk to Jiyeon but she just didn’t know what to say, she haven’t been in love, so how was she supposed to know what she truly felt? She just barely out of high school.

In silent she watched her older cousin Jiyeon as she looked in nothing in particular outside the cab window and as if the fate was playing some nasty joke on them the radio that the cab driver was listening to played a rather heartbreaking song which perfectly fits for Jiyeon. Shannon almost wanted to curse the singer of the song. Her unnie was already on a depressed mode and now she just have to listen to all this. On the other hand Jiyeon remained silent.

Finally the song registered to Jiyeon. She remembered the day Seung Ho said that he wouldn’t leave her. But right now he just left her without saying a word. Six month ago he left her without a single goodbye and left her hanging.

            To be honest, the reason why Jiyeon never even thought of coming back to Korea even though Seung Ho had not been contacting her for the past few months was this. She could have come back sooner to talk to him and even when she had returned she could have searched for him right away. She knows where exactly to find him. If not in their old house, they in his parents’ house.

            But then never did she go and searched for him ever since she had return. Because she was afraid this time would eventually come. She was afraid of hurting herself if she found out that he had fallen out of love to her. She wasn’t prepared to get hurt once again by the once she loves. She couldn’t even imagine herself without him anymore. She just learned how to live her life beside him.
