Small Resolve

My Princess's Servant

'Who is Rainie Yang...?'

that one simple question resonated within Mike's memory, haunting him. He stared at the Rainie before him and shook his head, from pain that came from his heart. "Rainie Yang was someone from my past and even knowing it's impossible-"

"Was she your lover?" Rainie couldn't help but ask, her anger and frustration somehow fading from Mike's sad expression.

Mike chuckled, his body trembling, "She was- but I hate her...I hate her...I hate her...I-"

Rainie tore her eyes off from Mike. "Forget it. I was being unreasonable somehow I just lost it so, please pretend I never asked."

Mike crouched on the floor, allowing his knees to support his menatally crippling body. "You remind me too much of her- too much. So for unnecessary things I've done to you, I think I should say sorry to you, Rainie Yeung."

Rainie exhaled with slight relief. Even unhappy and not satisfied, she at least found out what she wanted to - why Mike treated her so badly. It was because she reminded him of his past lover, whom he hates for some reason. But Rainie was thankful that it wasn't completely her fault that Mike disliked her. She felt more confident, they were two different people and even with the same name, they aren't the same. Rainie had a belief she could slowly make Mike accept her. With that hope, she uttered, "I accept. I'll accept your apology."

Mike looked up about to speak but stopped as black mist invaded the room. He bit his lips knowing fully who was to come and he was right. In a defensive attitude he asked, "What are you doing?"

Carrying Tavia and entering the room, Raymond smiled, "hmm, I was sumoned here."

Mike glanced at Tavia who gave a shallow nod. "I thought we discussed that he's not-"

"I want to find grandpa faster Mike. With Raymond's power- it's possible. I want answers, quick," Tavia explained.

Mike considered for a moment. 'Answers...if I decide to really devote myself to princess then I need to know more about her and...it's been ages since me and Raymond could be together so peacefully- his eyes are innocent again. I can tell so...just this time...' Making a run towards Raymond who was still carrying Tavia, Mike grabbed for Rainie. He gave a sly smile to Raymond, "let's play together like in the past..."

Raymond couldn't help but laugh, "whilst I'm still me, let's do it!"

Black mist circled the four, their bodies eventually disappearing from the binding of the room. They vanished.

Tavia was overwhelmed with amazement. "H-how, I still don't..."

"Forget what it is ok," Raymond said with a brilliant smile, "think of it as some magic trick for now..."

Tavia turned round. She was staring at her granfather's cottage. It was no mistake, she wa standing before it. Though she asked Raymond to help her get here, she didn't expect it to be like that. One moment she was in the hotel room and then black and then she was here. Tavia gulped, "Rainie, I'm not hallucinating am I?"

Rainie ran up to Tavia and held her hands, "I remember this is grandpa's cottage too. See the buttercup filled patches and that weird rabbit ornament is still there as always."

Feeling relieved, Tavia knocked on the wooden door with Rainie. For once in the past few days, this seemed normal to her and very accepting. The idea of her just visiting her grandfather. It made her feel home again and sure enough, that was the feeling Rainie felt. She could tell by Rainie's softened clench on her hand.

The wooden door slowly creaked open. Peering from behind the door, an elderly but smiling man stood. "T-tavia and R-rainie...my two grand-daughters..."

Rainie and Tavia gave the elderly man a light hug. Mike and Raymond stood watching from behind. It was a touching family reunion. It wasn't long though before the elderly man glanced at the two strangers before his door, "may I ask."

Tavia gripped onto her grandfather's arm but in a gentle fashion. "Grandpa, have you ever heard of Soul Knights and-" Tavia took out the two coins. The black and silver. "Do you remember, these belonged to grandma before she passed away..."

Tavia's grandfather heaved a deep sigh. He looked up into the sky, then back at Mike and Raymond, "I see. It's a pleasure to meet two of the four legendary Knights of the Soul Knights. I am Ah-Yat Yeung, the husband of the former royal princess..."
