- Chapter 15 - 

"What's wrong with you, Taeyeon?" 

"My heart.."

Baekhyun felt a twitch on his left eyes. He then slowed down his pace.

"What's wrong, oppa?" Hyuna caressed his face.

Baekhyun removed her hands, and shook his head.

"Nothing."

Reaching the doorstep of Hyuna's luxurious apartment, Hyuna refused to let go of Baekhyun's hands.

"Do you want to come in?"

"My parents are out of town. There will only be two of us.."

Baekhyun looked up, and Hyuna took the chance to place a kiss on his lips. 

"I am really happy today. What you did certainly deserve a reward from me.. if you know what I mean." Hyuna added as she played with Baekhyun's collar. 

Of course Baekhyun knew what Hyuna meant.

She wanted him to stay for the night.

"Sorry, I can't stay." Baekhyun rejected.

"I still have things to work on."

Leaving Hyuna's apartment, Baekyun quickly ran his way to pick up a nearest cab.

On cab, Baekhyun recalled those words he said that slashed Taeyeon's heart brutally. That wasn't his original intention. On the balcony when he saw her... he almost wanted to tell her the truth and hold her in his arms to tell her how much he loves her. But he couldn't.

"You think I am like you?"

"Able to forget everything so quickly. Able to take it as nothing happened and happily moved on..??"

Hearing those words from Taeyeon, Baekhyun almost gave up on what he promised.

"I remember this place."

"This is where we started. And I never forget those things that I promised you." 

Baekhyun was about to tell Taeyeon the truth on the balcony. But he found Hyuna's reflection standing behind them, eavesdropping. Baekhyun held back. He didn't want his impulsiveness to ruin the plan, and tarnish the only hope Taeyeon's father has.  And so, Baekhyun decided to change his words, and did what he did to hurt Taeyeon so Hyuna would be convinced.

But what Baekhyun didn't realize was how hurtful his words were, until the slap on his face. 

Recalling that, Baekhyun lowered his head and bit his lips. No, he couldn't do this anymore. He can't hurt Taeyeon like the way he did again and again. She needs to know the truth.

The cab finally reached Taeyeon's apartment. 

Baekhyun quickly alighted from it and rang the doorbell. But no one answered.
