WARD 19

“Now, mind telling me if how uncle did knew about it?” Krystal immediately asked as they were alone inside their office. It’s been a week since they discovered that Jack actually knew about it all along, Krystal has wanted to know why but she always get caught up with emergencies that she can’t help but postpone the talk with Victoria.

Victoria smiled upon recalling how her dad actually knew about it all along. Her dad perfectly knows her.

“How did you know dad?” Victoria can’t help but ask.

“I know my daughter too well.” Jack replied with a chuckle which made Victoria raise a brow while Nichkhun is just watching and listening to their conversation.

“I know my daughter well, after learning from Mr. Chan that you’re actually ‘dating’.” He started as he gave emphasis to the last word.

“And?”

“And I believe the same way he did. If a man can’t get your heart in just a year or two as what you’ve said before… then what could have happened? Change of heart?” Jack continued playfully which made both Nichkhun and Victoria laugh.

“Honestly, I got my princess followed by some of my men to check on you…. If my thoughts are right that you’ll get someone to act as your partner… and I was right. And since I knew Nichkhun before, I expected a nice act from you young lady… and you didn’t disappoint me… and from my point of view, it was as if…. Never an act… am I right?” Jack added as he eyed the two which just made Victoria blush and look down. Nichkhun on the other hand glanced at her.

“You’re right dad, it was all her plan and I tagged along… but with the act… I must say that the first few months, it was really an act, she’s giving a cold shoulder and I’m not minding it…. But maybe time brought us closer and eventually…..” Nichkhun didn’t finish his sentenced as he got hold of Victoria’s hand and kissed it which obviously made her blush for more. Jack couldn’t help but smile, his daughter has found a perfect guy.

“Khun it’s the first time that I could feel the baby move…” Victoria excitedly said as she touched her bump, obviously agitated with the feeling. Truth she already had felt small movements before, being a doctor she obviously knows that it’s the first movements her baby is doing inside her. But now that she’s on her 22nd week of pregnancy, she’s too thrilled feeling the baby’s movement inside her. It’s not just a small one since now when you get hold of her bump, you can really feel it.

“Oh Qian….” Khun’s smile never left his face after Victoria stormed in inside his office while he’s working. He actually left her after lunch inside her office but few minutes later she stormed inside his to inform him about the baby’s development.

“You want an ultrasound? Sonogram?” Khun immediately asked as he continued to feel their baby move, his eyes were glittering of excitement too. It made Victoria laugh.

“No need Khun…. I just got excited with the movement….” Victoria replied with a giggle but was immediately caught off-guard when Nichkhun’s face suddenly came near her and ended up kissing her cheeks… which she never mind.  The past few weeks after Nichkhun’s admission and they started to become a ‘real’ couple… their sweet acts has prospered from just a hug at night it sometimes becomes a hug-kiss moment, a good morning, good afternoon, goodnight kiss, stolen moments and more… and Victoria can perfectly feel loved because of it.

“Do you want something? Take some rest?” Nichkhun asked with a sheepish smile which made Victoria stand up.

“Nopes… I just came here to make you feel it… I’m going back to my office now, I still need to do the result interpretation before giving it to you.” Victoria replied with a smile. As much as she wanted to have this lovey-dovey moment with her husband, she knows that duty first.

“You’re tiring yourself Qian… I told you I can just do the interpretation then let you check it after.” Nichkhun has always protested her decision in continuing her work in the medical center. He wanted her to be like Suzy, rested after she entered the 5th month of her pregnancy. Now Suzy is in her 8th month which made Taecyeon spend lesser time in the medical center to look after his wife. That made Nichkhun a bit more busier since he’s handling some of his jobs for the mean time.

“Are we going to talk about this again Khun? I’ve got two weeks left… promise.” Victoria swore with a pout which just made Nichkhun cup her face and kissed her forehead. Since Nichkhun always protest on this, Victoria promised him that once she gets into her 6th month of pregnancy, she’s filing her maternity leave until she gives birth. After much persuasion, Nichkhun eventually found it fair enough and ended up agreeing with her.

“Fine… let me you to your office then…” Nichkhun said as he just guided her. Victoria couldn’t help but smile. Such a good man…. And she’s lucky to have one.

“Hello Vic?”

“Dad! How are you?” Victoria excitedly asked as she just randomly clicked names on her phonebook to call… and yes she called her dad. She’s now on her 24th weeks of pregnancy and she has stopped going to work for almost two weeks now. At first she wanted to sneak peak but she decided not to as she didn’t want to disappoint Nichkhun for not following her promise. Now, they even hired three helpers in the house so that Victoria will have company while he’s not around. He also instructed them not let Victoria out of their sight. Once she’s inside the room, be sure that one of them should be on the second floor so that they can look after her even from the outside.

“I’m fine princess, why do you call?” Jack is a bit curious of the sudden call.

“Nothing dad, I’m honestly just bored and got nothing to do so I end up calling persons here in my inbox… and eventually click on you.” Victoria’s voice was even filled with excitement which made Jack’s eyes widen. He’s now in the US, Victoria called him internationally because she’s bored… and he’s in a middle of meeting one of his departments.

“Oww… princess as much as I want to spend longer time to talk to you… I’m a middle of a meeting now…” Jack tried to sound as calm as possible in order not to make Victoria feel bad.

“Aaaaahh… okay dad… goodluck with that… bye-bye love you!”

And the call ended with Victoria pouting. She badly want to do her work, she’s not used in staying idle like this. She suggested checking on Nichkhun’s interpretations of tests before surgeries but the lad didn’t agree saying that it’ll stress her out…. And yes he’s such an over protective soon-to-be dad.

“Baby, what should mama do?” Victoria caressed her belly as she pouted. She’s now in the porch for to take some rest. Since she’s on idle, she’s also feeling useless. Having to even walk from the kitchen to their room makes her feel so tired as her legs feels so bloated. That makes her settled in one place for almost three hours if she’ll do nothing. Even though Krystal said that it’s not an advisable deed, she got no choice.

“Take some rest with papa would do.” Victoria’s eyes widen upon hearing his voice, she immediately turned to the side where the voice came from, and there he is standing infront of her with a box of cake in his hand.

“Khun.” Her lips immediately formed into a smile as she wanted to give him a welcome kiss but instead he stooped to her side to give her a kiss which made her blush. Even though it’s been some time since they started doing this naturally, she still can’t help but feel butterflies and blush.

“I heard you looked for cake earlier so I decided to drop by to buy some.” Nichkhun said as he settled the cake on the table as he sat beside Victoria. He circled his arm around her as she automatically rested her head on his shoulder.

“It’s still early, why are you here?” Victoria asked.

“I miss my wife and my baby.” Nichkhun replied as he touched her belly which made her giggle.

“Stop being cheesy…”

“It’s true. Besides I’ve got nothing to do left so I just decided to come home and accompany you, I know you’re bored.” Nichkhun caressed his nose on her forehead which made her smile.

“Okay baby… move now so auntie can see you better…” Krystal touches Victoria’s belly as she concentrates on the screen. Victoria’s eyes are also glued in the screen though her belly is actually feeling cold because of the gel. Nichkun’s eyes were same as them, he was also holding Victoria’s hand. It’s her 28th weeks of pregnancy and she obviously got more bloated as the baby is becoming bigger. They’ve also agreed to know the baby’s gender on its 28th weeks.

“Baby, papa and mama wants to know your gender so please do move.” Nichkhun also talked to the baby as they were waiting for it to move on the right position so they can see its gender identity.
