Jang Mi just finished putting Bada to sleep when she heard her phone rang.
“Yoboseyo?”
“Jang Mi?”
“Yes? Who’s this please?”
“This is Leeteuk! Where are you now?”

How did he know I’ve come home already?

Yeah right, Michi. I’m so gonna kill you.

“Oppa! Uh… Yeah. I arrived 3 weeks ago. How did you know?”

She kept her coming back to Seoul as discrete as possible to those she knew.
Only very few people knew she’d come home; her parents, her uncle and Michi.

“I saw you the other day in your uncle’s office. Why did you not call us?”
“I… I was kinda busy lately. Sorry for not calling.”
“It’s just fine. We wanna see you! Can you come tomorrow?”

I’m not ready yet. My God! What should I say?

“Jang Mi?”
“Uh… Oppa…I’m really busy. I think I can’t come.”
“Why? Can’t you cancel your schedule? We have a celebration tomorrow. It’s Hyukjae’s birthday.”

Now she remembered. It’s Hyukjae’s birthday. She wanted to see them. And she missed her friends too. But is she ready to face Donghae? That’s all she’s worried about.

“He’ll be sad if you’ll not come. He knew you’ve come home already. He’s expecting you’ll come.”

Now she’s really having a problem.

“Uh… ok Oppa. I’ll see what I can do about my schedule.”

“Please tell come, Jang Mi. Just for Hyukjae ok?”

“Uh…. Ok oppa. I’ll be there.”

Now they knew I’m here. Surely, Donghae knew too. Maybe I should face him now.
But what would I say to him?

There are a lot of things going on in her mind. But she just realized one thing. She can’t escape the fact that they will soon meet whether she likes it or not. If it’s tomorrow or the next day, it doesn’t matter.

So she prepared herself for Hyukjae’s party the next evening.
She dressed in a simple semi formal dress. She let her hair fall down.
She looked at herself in the mirror.
Very simple.

“You looked so beautiful sweetie!” Her mom said went it went into her room.
“Mom, you don’t have to say that.”
“But you’re beautiful my dear.”
“I have to go now. Please take care of Bada.” She said, trying to change the topic.
“Of course I will” Her mother said.
“He had a slight fever awhile ago. Maybe due to sudden weather change. She’s used to the weather in the Philippines. He’s not adapting to it quite well.”
“I got it. Don’t worry. I know what to do.”
“Ok go now…” her mom sent her away.
“Uh.. Jang Mi, you might see him tonight. I hope you’ll be honest to him.”

She knew what her mom is trying to say. But she’s not sure if she can do it.

It’s so tough for her.

She then drove to the hotel Leeteuk told her. She just can’t imagine what might happen there.
She gave her keys to the valet and went in.
The two hotel staffs greeted her as she passed by them.

“Good evening Ma’am.”
“Good evening”, she replied.
“Good evening Sir.” The staffs again spoke.

Upon hearing this, Jang Mi turned around to see who’s behind her.

To her surprise, she didn’t know what to say.
It was Yunho.

He smiled at her. It was a very sweet smile.
He still looks as handsome as ever. He didn’t change a bit. He even looked more gorgeous on his black suit.

She smiled back at him.

“Hi.” Yunho said.
She responded with a “Hi” too.
“I haven’t seen you for a while.” He told her.
“Almost 2 years oppa.”

They walked together to the hall where the party is.

“Was it that long?”
“…yeah” She answered.
“I’m so happy to see you.”
“Me too, but… the last time we saw each other, it wasn’t that …”
“You don’t have to mention it Jang Mi. I’m alright now.”

She looked at him. It seemed like he’s really have moved on.
She smiled.

“Thank you.”

“I’m still here if you needed someone to talk to alright?”

“Yeah, thank you. I’m so happy that you never changed.”

“What would I change?”

“I don’t know. Maybe because of the things that has happened between us. Those unfortunate things.”

Yunho laughed upon hearing her.

“Really I’m fine with that. I would even help you about Donghae if you wanted…”

“No!” she cut him.

Yunho was surprised about her strong objection.

“Why?”

“I mean. I’m fine without him. I should let him go.”

She heard Yunho sighed.

They then went in together to the hall.

“Alright then. Just call me when you need me ok?”

She smiled back to him.

“Yes. And thank you again.”

“No problem. See you around.”

She’s glad Yunho already moved on. Unlike her, the past still haunts.



There were many people around. She saw many artists and her friends, Super Junior.

“Jang Mi!” Sung Min said happily as he gets near her.
“Oppa!”

They hugged each other. She saw the other boys going near her too. She hugged each one of them.
She noticed one thing. Donghae isn’t there.

And when she looked around, she saw Donghae at the corner.
He was just standing there staring at them.
She felt uneasy with that kind of stare.
 

Is he mad at me? If he knew, he would really have a reason to be.

Donghae’s hair grew longer. But he’s still very handsome with that look.
She never fails to get attracted to Donghae.

The boys then took her to their seats.
She saw Eunhyuk coming too.

“Oppa! Happy Birthday.” She then handed him her gift after she hugged him.
“Yah! We missed you. Why do you always leave and only comes back after years? “Why are you like that?” He asked her jokingly.
“I’m so sorry oppa. I’m really busy those days.”
She glanced at the corner. She was looking for Donghae but he wasn’t there.

“Jang Mi!” Heechul took her attention.
“Uh yes?” She said.
“Are you looking for something?”
“Anio.. You were saying?”
“Why did you go back to the Philippines that sudden? You haven’t emailed us or even called us that you’d leave.” Heechul asked.
“It was about… uhmm… my records at school! Yeah right. They called me up and said I have to fix it right away. I’m sorry for not informing you guys.”

What a stupid answer!

Jang Mi then felt someone standing beside her.
When she gazed up, she saw Donghae looking at her.
She felt her heart beat faster again. She’s never been this close to him after almost two years. She can’t explain the nervousness she felt.
Donghae then bent down and whispered to her.

“Can I talk to you for a minute?”

Her heart is beating terribly.
She didn’t say anything. Donghae was waiting for her answer.
She’s really tensed with Donghae’s presence.
Donghae spoke again.

“Please.”

She finally stood up.

“Excuse us guys.” She said.
“Donghaeya! Where are you taking her?” Yesung said.
“I’m just gonna borrow her for awhile.”

She then felt Donghae’s hands holding her hand. She tried to pull her hands off but Donghae was holding it tightly. All that she could do was just to follow Donghae’s steps.

If this is the right moment to talk to him, I might as well face it.

Donghae took her to the terrace. He let go of her hands.
The terrace is overlooking the city. The wind is blowing softly on her hair. Just a perfect place. But she can't appreciate it. She's so preoccupied with the feeling of Donghae beside her now. It's making her uneasy.

“Why did you leave me there that sudden?” Donghae started to talk.
“I’m sorry.” She said.
He saw his face so gloom.
“It’s not what I want to hear from you. Why did you left that sudden?”
“Oppa, that was so long ago. And that was just a … a mistake.”
“Mistake?”
“Oppa…”
“So you call that a mistake!”

But before Jang Mi could answer more she heard her phone rang.

“Jang Mi!”
“Umma? Why did you call?”
“I’m here at the hospital. Bada’s having a fever again. And his cough seemed worse. Come here at once.”
“I’ll be there!”

She then started walking off.

“Wait!" Donghae grabbed her arms.
“We’re not done talking yet!”
“Oppa, I have to go.”
“I have to go to the hospital now.”
“What? Who’s there? What happened?’
“I have to go. Bye.”
Jang Mi rushed and went to get her car.
Just as she went in the driver’s seat. Donghae also went in the opposite side and sat on the front seat.
“Oppa!”
“Let’s go. I’m going with you.”
“No! Get out!”
“No! I’m not. We’ll talk after. We have so many things to clear up.”

Jang Mi can’t send him away. He’s stubborn. Now she knew where did Bada got that attitude too.

They reached the hospital.
“Who’s here?” Donghae asked.

Jang Mi didn’t talk. She walked so fast to the room her mom said.
“Jang Mi…” Donghae called her again.
But she kept silent.

Jang Mi finally found the room.

“Stay there. Don’t come inside. If you wanted to talk to me, you wait here.”

That was the only way she could pacify him at the moment. She doesn’t know what else to do.

As she opened it, Jang Mi saw Bada lying on the bed and crying. Her mom is seated at the bedside.

Jang Mi then rushed to her son and embraced him. She pulled him up and took him to her arms.

Soon Bada stopped crying as he felt her mother’s embrace.

“He was looking for you.”

“I’m sorry baby. Momma’s here.”

But then the two of them suddenly heard a voice from the door.

“Auntie, who’s this child?”

Jang Mi’s mom looked so surprised seeing Donghae.

He really is stubborn.

Jang Mi answered as he carried Bada in her arms and faced Donghae.
“My son…”

She never saw Donghae as surprised as that.
