You wondered where in the world you were until yesterday’s events came flooding back into your memory. Oh, right. Monster Academy. You quickly did your morning rituals and went to the cafeteria to get some brunch. You made a quick check on the student lounge upstairs. It serves as the common room where everyone can hang around to watch TV, talk to other dorm tenants, etcetera. There were two TVs on opposite sides and a couple of couches. There were also gaming components that you were not familiar with and other appliances. Ten computer sets were lined in one area for everyone’s use and there was also a guitar placed in one corner. You also saw a Ping-Pong and a foosball table. Cool. You went back down to the cafeteria. There were a couple of people there eating, some were just talking, and some were just simply passing the time. You went to the food counter and got your choice of food, and started heading to an empty table near the windows when you saw a familiar face among the thin crowd. Ice king! You exclaimed the nickname you gave him inside your head. It was the cafeteria guy from yesterday. He was in front of the vending machine again, looking like a deity. You were so busy watching him that you forgot to watch where you’re going and suddenly found yourself face to face with someone else’s chest. It was too late for you to avoid him. The impact made you lose your grip on your tray and you unintentionally shoved it into the other person, including all of its contents. The tray fell with a clatter on the floor, causing everyone to turn their attention towards you. You gasped in horror as your eyes travelled from his light blue shirt which had now turned green from the curry stains, to his rice covered neck, and finally to his equally shocked face. He had fierce, dark eyes, making him seem like he was ready to kill any moment. Crap. I’m dead. The both of you just stared at each other until you finally had the common sense to apologize. “I’m sorry!” You blurted but it came out as a squeak. You brushed the rice off his neck in panic and took out your handkerchief to wipe the curry away from his shirt. He gently grabbed your wrist. “It’s okay,” he answered. “Tao? What happened here?” You turned at the voice and saw Ice King approaching. “Duizhang,” the guy called Tao said. “Actually it’s my fault. I wasn’t watching where I was going,” you said and turned to Tao. “I’m really sorry." Ice King knelt down and picked the fallen tray. He took the broken pieces of plate on the floor and placed it on the tray. Tao knelt down and did the same. “No, wait! I’ll do it,” you said and immediately did the same. To your panic you cut yourself from one of the sharp pieces. “Ow!” you muttered. You were about to put your finger into your mouth but Ice King gently seized your hand away. He took a handkerchief from his pocket and covered your bleeding finger with it. “Tao, finish this up then go get changed. I’ll meet you back here in ten minutes,” he said. “Yes duizhang,” Tao replied. Ice King stood up and started walking away, pulling you along. “Uh, wait!
