You opened your locker to deposit your notebooks for you morning classes. As usual, the hate notes were there. In fact, there were four of them now. You read them one by one. Go to hell, class Dung! Hey dung, why don’t you just die and make this world a better place? Class Dirts don’t belong here. Go away!   “Class Dirt. They finally thought of a new name,” you laughed sarcastically to yourself. You were getting used to the hate notes, and in fact, have always expected them every time you open your locker. You were getting more of them each day. You opened the next one. Stay away from them if you want to live, ! Useless dungs like you should die! I knew it, you sighed. You were not getting the hate notes just because you were Class D. Of course there are probably some who are racist against Class Ds. But lately you figured that you were getting this much hate because you were always with the soccer team. You thought about it last night. Sure, monsters might think of Class Ds as weak and lowly, but it didn’t make sense for you to get so much hate for that reason alone. You recalled that girls have been glaring at you every time you were with the soccer team though you ignored it at first, and the whole hate thing really started after you spent lunch with them. You also remembered that the ones who locked you up at the storeroom were also girls. The hate intensified when you were with the soccer team during practice on Wednesday, and again during practice yesterday. It was then that you concluded that your haters were most likely girls who, for some reason, didn’t want you near the soccer team. What you didn’t get though was why they would resort to these actions. Perhaps they were jealous that you are always with the boys, but it wasn’t as though you were doing something wrong. You were not even flirting with them, not even with Lay. And if they really did like the soccer team that much, then they should try making friends with them instead of wasting their time hating you. I’m still not getting the whole point of this. This feels like a typical story from a manhwa or something, you sighed. You received a few death glares as you walked down the hallway. Ji Min was not with you since you had to pass by the library first to borrow a book, which in the first place was not for you. You stopped by the door of Moon class. You peered hesitantly inside. The girl near the door looked at you in interest. You wanted to ask for her help but realized that she probably wouldn’t help you anyway. And Ji Min was not there; and is probably doing some retouch at the restroom. “Lu Han!” You called out, making the class’ attention turn to you, but you didn’t care. Lu Han saw you by the door and walked towards you. You shoved the book begrudgingly at him. “Actually, I don’t need this anymore,” he told you and gave the book back. “What?!” “I understand the lesson now so I don’t need it,” he said. “So what am I supposed to do with this?!” “I don’t know. Just return it or you can read it for yourself if you like,” he told you. You gritted your teeth as you tried to resist your urge to punch him. You gave him an irritated frown and walked away. “I’ll see you again at practice,” he called out. “Sorry but I have club activities,” you told him and stomped towards your classroom. “Curse you, you stupid, stupid jerk!” You cursed under your breath. -- FLASHBACK -- “So what do you want me to do?” You asked Lu Han. You have followed them all the way to the soccer field but he still hasn’t told you how you were supposed to ‘pay him back’. “I want you to be my personal helper,” he said. “What?” You asked as though he had just told you that the sky was green. “You just have to do whatever I tell you to do,” he explained casually. “And why would I want to do that?” “Because you owe me,” he said matter-of-factly. You laughed at him incredulously. “And if I don’t want to?” “Then I’ll tell Lay that you were peeping on him at our locker room,” he said. “What?! I wasn’t peeping! A-and what has Lay got to do with this?” He just gave you a knowing smirk. “You’re crazy. If you don’t have anything more to say, I’m going,” you told him and started to walk away. “Lay-ah! I have something to tell you!” He suddenly called out. Your eyes grew wide in shock. You immediately headed back and pulled on his shirt. “What are you doing?!” You hissed. “What is it?” Lay asked as he went to the two of you. “Did you know that Joo Ri here –” “Aaaaaaaaaaaaa I think you’re a good dancer,” you quickly cut him off. “Really?” Lay asked. “Yes! And I’m going to be your number one fan!” You said nervously. “Why, thank you,” Lay said shyly. “Yes! And uhm, that’s all. Haha. Excuse us,” you said and dragged Lu Han away. Lay looked a little confused but decided to not mind the two of you. “What are you doing?!” You yelled at Lu Han. “So, have you changed your mind?” He asked. “Why are you doing this?! Is this again because I’m class D?” “Your class has nothing to do with this. I already told you, you owe me so I just want you to pay me back.” “But this is so…ARRRGGGH! D.O. isn’t even asking me for anything!” “Well, I’m not D.O.,” he just shrugged. You clenched your teeth, wanting so much to hit him in the face. “GAAAAAAAHH!” You sighed. “How long?” “Hmm?” “For how long are we gonna do this?” “For as long as I want to,” he smirked. “But that’s unfair!” “Take it or leave it. I can always tell Lay about our little secret. Just so you know, we’re roommates.” “What makes you think he’ll believe you?” “He can ask D.O. Everyone knows D.O. doesn’t lie,” he said confidently. “ARRGH!” You sighed again as you face-palmed yourself while facing the skies. WHY HEAVENS, IS THIS HAPPENING TO ME?! “So, what now?” He asked you. “Aish! Fine! I’ll do it!” “Great! Now for a start, why don’t you buy me a bottle of water while I go change for practice?” He said while handing you a bill. You looked ready to kill him but took the bill anyway. “Is there anything else you want me to get you?” You asked irritably before going. “No, nothing. Just be back in five minutes.” -- END OF FLASHBACK -- DEVIL WITH THE FACE OF AN ANGEL! You reached your classroom and slumped on your seat. “Hey, what’s with your mood today? Want me to brighten up your day?” Kai asked. “Don’t talk to me. I’ve had enough jerks for today,” you told him. “Ouch!” He pretended to be hurt but smirked afterwards. You gave a worn out sigh. You thanked God it was Friday. You were looking forward to a nice, peaceful weekend. Looking back, this week had really stressed you out. Your first week of school should have been fun and exciting just like any other normal first weeks. Well, I’m not normal anymore. Not even in the monster world. Your eyes landed on Lee Hee Jun and you saw him glaring at you. He had been doing it a lot ever since that day at the hallway. It made you more restless to think that he might hurt you any moment. But so far, he hadn’t really done anything. …yet, you thought. Mr. Bae came in to start hell period. His eyes automatically fixed on Kai. Kai just sat there looking comfortable as ever while Mr. Bae gave him a contemptuous glare. You immediately moved your desk to adjoin Kris’ before you got scolded again. “Page one hundred and eight,” Mr. Bae said. Kris opened the book to the said page and shoved his book closer to you like usual. You still feel really uncomfortable around him, though not as much as before. You sneaked a glance at him and wondered if it had really been him who left you the sandwich and the can of coke. You have always wanted to ask him but you didn’t have the courage to do so. And you didn’t want to embarrass yourself just in case you turned out to be wrong. Besides, the only reason why you thought it was him was because of the coke. Anyone can buy coke. “Park Chanyeol, where is your book?” Mr. Bae said, distracting you from your Kris-gazing. “I-I left it in my locker, sonsaengnim,” Chanyeol answered. “Then what are you still doing in my class?” “I’ll go get it for a while, sonsaengnim,” Chanyeol said as he stood up. “No need. Get out of my class.” “But sonsaengnim –” Chanyeol reasoned but Mr. Bae cut him off. “Out. Now.” Chanyeol scratched his head in frustration and slowly walked out of the room. What the –, you stared dumbfounded at your teacher then at Chanyeol who had now disappeared out of the door. “Your book is equal to your attendance in this class,” Kris suddenly said in a low voice. You looked up at him then back at Mr. Bae. You were gritting your teeth in irritation and didn’t notice that you were also clenching your hands into fists. But Chanyeol’s book is just at his locker! It won’t hurt for him if Chanyeol would go get it for a while! Damn demon teacher! “It is better for you not to get involved if you don’t want to also get into trouble,” Kris told you. He was right. You let out an irritated huff and fixed your eyes on the textbook before Mr. Bae could see you glaring at him. Then you turned to look at Kai. He was also wearing a somewhat sour expression. You knew he was also displeased, probably more than you, and you just hoped that he wouldn’t do anything stupid. Hell, period finally ended, with Mr. Bae announcing that you’re having a long quiz next week. Chanyeol came in a little after Mr. Bae left. “Chanyeol…,” you approached him though you were not so sure what to say. He looked a little annoyed, or a little sad, or probably a mixture of both. You were so used to seeing the usual mischievous grin on his face that you were not sure how you should act around him now. “I’m fine!” Chanyeol patted your back when he saw your expression. He was wearing his usual bright expression again. “I’m still far from being kicked out so it’s okay.” “I always remind you to bring your history book, hyung,” Sehun told him. “Well, I forgot it today,” Chanyeol said scratching his head. “So! Did he say anything important?” “We’re having a quiz next week about Roman history,” you told him. “Ugh! I hate history quizzes,” he said. “You hate all quizzes,” Kai said. “True. But at least I still come to class,” Chanyeol retorted. Kai just shrugged. “Really hyung, you should tone down your habit of cutting classes. It’s still the first half of the term and you’re already close to being kicked out of history class,” Sehun said. “So you always cut classes?” You asked. “It’s boring here,” Kai shrugged. “But you’re always in class now.” “Maybe because you’re here?” He smirked. “Wow. I’m so touched,” you answered sarcastically. “Alright, go back to your seats,” your teacher for next period came in. All of you went back to your seats. “Today you’re doing an activity. Answer everything at pages ninety-eight through one hundred and one.” You moved your desk again to adjoin Kris’. You were tired of all this moving around. You hoped that your books would really arrive next week. You started answering the four-page activities with difficulty. Though you were allowed to scan through the book for the answers, you were too shy to do it so since you might be disturbing Kris. You were still half-way on the page when you noticed that Kris was no longer doing anything. He was staring out of the window like he usually did when he had nothing to do in particular. You sneaked a glanced at his paper and saw that he was already done answering everything in page ninety-eight. You scratched your head and went back to answering in a panic. You didn’t know how long he had been waiting for you to finish. Finally you just decided to turn the page though you were not done in the first page yet. Kris turned his attention back to the book when he heard you flipping it. You saw him throwing a quick glance at your paper and you secretly covered it with your arm. You tried answering as quickly as you can. You kept on glancing over at Kris to see if he had finished answering everything up to page one hundred. After about five minutes, he put his pen down again. You on the other hand were still on page ninety-nine. You hastily scribbled the answer of the item you were currently on and turned the page. Kris glanced at you with an unreadable expression. “May I borrow this for a while?” He asked, holding the book. “Uh, sure,” you answered. He took the book and started scribbling. You secretly scolded yourself for not being smart enough. “Here,” Kris said after a while, and shoved his book all the way to your desk. You stared at him in confusion. He went back to writing and you realized that he had answered all the questions so you could have his book. You sighed and went back to your activity. This is embarrassing. You didn’t get to finish the activity even though you had the book all to yourself. Nonetheless, you were still glad because you were able to answer most of the items. Next period came and went and finally, class ended. “See you tomorrow,” you told Chanyeol, Kai and Sehun. “You’re not gonna watch us at practice?” Chanyeol asked you. “No, I have club activities,” you answered. You don’t think they know that you had been at their practice only because Lu Han was ordering you around like a slave. You were about to head out when some of your classmates blocked your way. “You!” “Yes?” You asked them. “You’re doing Kai’s cleaning duties, right?” One girl asked you. “Uh, yeah.” She shoved a broom and a board eraser to you, then walked off. “Guess today is Kai’s cleaning schedule,” you muttered to yourself. You waited for everyone to go out and finally started cleaning. You started by picking up crumpled pieces of paper on the floor and on the desks. Then you started sweeping the floor, starting from the back of the room. “Uh, guys do you know where the dustpan…is…,” your voice trailed off when you realized you were alone. You were too busy that you didn’t notice that your cleaning mates had already left you. You sighed and went to check on the closets. You finally found a dustpan and finished sweeping. You proceeded to clean the boards. You were straining to reach the writings at the top but you were too short to reach it. You accidentally dropped the eraser. It hit your head, sprinkling chalk all over your face, before it landed on the floor. “UGH!! Stupid eraser! Why aren’t we using whiteboard markers anyway?” You grumbled to yourself. “Because some monsters are sensitive to the smell of whiteboard markers,” Kai answered. He was sitting on a table near the door. “What are you doing here?” Yo
