You were glaring down at Lu Han with your arms crossed. He looked up at you and took his earphones off. “Sit down,” he said while nodding at the seat across him. He was occupying one of the empty study tables at the student lounge and was playing with his rubik’s cube again. “I don’t want to. Whatever it is you want, say it now. I’m busy,” you answered and remained standing. “With what? Fantasizing with that?” You followed his line of vision and saw Lay’s pencil still clutched in your hand. You guiltily tucked it in one of your uniform’s pockets. “I’m not!” “Sorry. I’m not good with maths,” he said in a high-pitched voice, imitating you earlier at the library. “If you keep being too obvious, he will notice in no time.” “What?” “He likes cute girls,” he added, while giving you an ‘and-you’re-definitely-not-one-of-those’ look. “Did you call me here just to annoy me? If you’re done then I’m going.” “Yes, and no I’m not done,” he said while shoving a pile of notebooks towards the center of the table. “Copy Sehun’s notes to mine.” “And why should I be the one doing this?” “Because my hands are sore,” he said. “Then stop playing with that stupid cube!” “I don’t want to,” he said while twisting the cube more rapidly, annoying you all the more. “And besides, you’re my slave.” “Slave,” you laughed incredulously. “You said I was only gonna help you.” “Isn’t that the same thing?” He asked coolly. You stared at him, looking like you were ready to strangle him to death. “What? You agreed to it,” he said. “That was only because you forced me to.” “Correction, I didn’t force you. You had all the freedom to accept the deal or not.” “It was blackmail!” You snapped. Lu Han just shrugged uncaringly. You didn’t notice that your voice had gotten a little loud and some students were already staring your way. You took a very deep breath before taking the seat across him. You realized that you were only embarrassing yourself in front of the other students with all the yelling and that there was no way you’ll win this argument. You glared at him, mentally tearing him into a million bloody pieces. How did this oaf find out about Lay anyway? You pulled the notes closer to you and started working begrudgingly on the ones on top. “I thought you didn’t want to sit down,” he goaded. You stabbed his pen on his notebook as you wrote a period while giving him a sour look. “Careful. If you damage my notebook you’re gonna have to buy me a new one and rewrite everything,” he said calmly and went back to his cube. “Make sure to write everything neatly,” he added and put his earphones back on. “Die!” You gritted under your breath. Your hand was hurting after almost an hour of non-stop writing. Lu Han on the other hand, proceeded to playing with his phone after getting tired of his rubik’s cube. You were trying hard to fight the urge to throw his notebooks at him and stab him to death with his pen. “Ne, Sehunie,” he answered when his phone suddenly rang. “Araso. I’ll be down in a minute.” “Where are you going?” You asked when he suddenly stood up. “Dinner,” he answered. You gave a relieved sigh as you closed the notebooks and piled them neatly. “I’ll finish the rest next time,” you told him as you shook your hurting hand. “I need those tomorrow,” he simply answered. “Mweo?” “All of it.” “Can’t you need it some other day?!” “I’m going.” “Wait! Ya!” You yelled but he already headed downstairs. “Aish!” You muttered in irritation as you ruffled your bangs. You sat down again and took the notes you were working on a while ago. You started writing again but your stomach was already growling in protest. “Oh right. I’m supposed to have dinner with Ji Min,” you muttered to yourself. You gave her a call and she said she’ll be meeting you at the cafeteria in five minutes. You piled the notebooks back and stood up. “Wait,” you stopped and glanced back at the notebooks. “What am I supposed to do with these?” “Ani. Why am I the one worrying about his stuff? If something happens it’s his problem,” you said after a while and started heading down the stairs. But you stopped again and glanced back. “Careful. If you damage my notebook you’re gonna have to buy me a new one and rewrite everything.” You remembered what he said a while ago. If something does happen to his stuff, there’s no doubt that that jerk will blame it on me, judging from his foul attitude. AIIIIISSSH! You went back to the table and carried his stuff with you. “Curse you, you stupid, stupid, devil!” You occupied an empty table and threw a resentful glance towards the soccer team’s table. Lu Han was laughing comfortably with the others, clearly not worried about his stuff. He must have really intended for you to take care of it. “Damn you,” you whispered a curse at him again for the hundredth time. “Joo Ri-ya,” Ji Min called as she sat across you. “What’s that?” She asked referring to the pile of notebooks as she fumbled for the one at the top. “Trash,” you answered smugly. “Wait, this is Lu Han’s,” she said, reading the name written on it, “and Sehun’s,” she added as she examined the name on the next one. You just continued to slump gloomily on your table. “Mind telling what this is all about? It was Lu Han right? The one who called you a while ago,” she asked. “Ne,” you answered. “So?” She asked. “Oh wait, let’s fall in line or we’ll run out of food.” The two of you quickly got your food. “So, tell me,” she said excitedly. You contemplated before finally telling her everything. “Wha – ahahahaha!” Ji Min was laughing hard. “I really don’t know whether you’re lucky or unfortunate. Out of all the places, you really ended up at their locker room.” “It’s not really funny,” you pouted. “But it is!” She laughed some more. “So, did you see anything?” She asked elatedly. “Huh?” “You said they were changing, right?” “Ji Min~!” You wailed. “What?! Since you were already there you should have feasted your eyes with their ness,” she said, laughing. “I’m starting to think you’re a ert,” you told her but she just laughed some more. “But things are really not as bad as you think.” “How can it be not bad? That Lu Han is clearly abusing me.” “Aish! It’s Lu Han we’re talking about. If it’s someone that handsome, I’d let him abuse me too,” she giggled. “That sounds so wrong.” “You know, just enjoy it. Look at the bright side. A lot of girls would give anything to be Lu Han’s love slave.” “I’m not his love slave! Why do you make everything sound indecent?” She giggled again and rested her chin at the edge of her palms. “Sigh. I wish D.O. would also make me his slave. I’d let him blood from my neck all he wants.” “Ya! That sounds sick,” you told her. “Oh well. Vampires don’t like monster blood,” she sighed. “Don’t tell anyone about what I told you okay? Or that jerk’s gonna make my life more miserable. I’m supposed to keep our deal a secret,” you said. “Ne,” she answered. The two of you finished your dinner. You let out another irritated sigh as you needed to go back to doing Lu Han’s notes again. “Well, see you later,” Ji Min said as she turned to go. “Where are you going?” You asked when you realized she was carrying a duffel bag. “Swimming,” she answered. “Oh, okay. See you later.” You headed back to the student lounge to finish your ‘duties’. Though your hand was hurting, you wrote non-stop since you wanted to just finish everything quickly. After about almost two hours, you were already done with everything. You stretched your hands upwards and gave a tired sigh. Just in time, Lu Han came back looking so irritatingly relaxed. “Are you done?” He asked. You slammed his notebook close, piled it on top of the others and slammed everything in front of him. You gave him a death glare and walked away. You stopped halfway when you realized you were still holding his pen. You walked back and slammed his pen on top of the notebooks and walked away again. “Thank you,” he called out. You looked back at him and he was wearing a very sweet, angelic smile. “Die!” You yelled and walked away. You heard him laugh but you were too tired to continue with your childish fights. You gave another irritated sigh as you stood outside the cafeteria. Lu Han was really getting on your nerves a lot. “Why is he such a jerk?!” You huffed. You intended to head back to your room but decided to pass by the pool at the back area of the dorms to check if Ji Min was still there. There were not many people there since it was almost bedtime. You craned your neck as you searched for Ji Min from among the few people inside the pool area. “You can go inside,” the staff at the entrance said. “Oh, I’m just looking for someone,” you explained. “Wouldn’t it be easier to search inside?” She asked. “Well, I don’t have money with me,” you scratched your head. “You don’t have to pay as long as you don’t use the pools,” she smiled. “Oh, thanks,” you smiled back and went in. It was the first time you went inside the pool area. You looked around at the sunbathing couches and at the umbrella covered tables. “Wow, this place is really classy. I feel like I’m inside a resort.” You walked near the edge of the pool and removed your shoes to make sure you don't slip. The water looked inviting and didn’t smell like chlorine unlike most public pools you’ve been to. It was divided into two, just as Ji Min had told you before. At the center dividing the pool was a tall wall which looked like it was made of natural rocks. There was water flowing at the center of the wall, creating a makeshift waterfall. You walked over to the other side to check it. The smell of the water there reminded you of the sea. It was the seawater portion that Ji Min told you about. You looked around but there seemed to be no one in that area. “Maybe she already left,” you murmured to yourself. You walked to the edge of the pool and squatted while gliding your fingers playfully in the water. You missed the sea. You loved going to the beach but it had been a very long time since you’ve gone there. Ever since your father died, your mother had been too busy with selling fish that you never had the time to go to the beach again. You hummed an incoherent tune while you reminisced with your beach memories when suddenly, you felt something holding your hand, pulling it into the water. You gasped but when you looked at your hand, there, was nothing but water surrounding it. You tried pulling your hand out of the water but you couldn’t. It was as though invisible force was holding it. You were starting to panic when a head slowly emerged out of the water. Its face was covered in small bluish-green scales. It had a very large golden fin on its head and its eyes were literally glowing as it looked at you. Its body started to become visible in the water, like a scene in the movies when an invisibility power of some sort starts to wear out. Your eyes widened in horror when you realized that it was the creature’s scaly hand that was holding yours. The creature smiled, showing its razor-sharp teeth. “AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!” You screamed and tried to pull your hand away in panic. The creature slowly glided closer to you. You screamed louder and were vigorously shaking your hand as you tried to free it from the creature’s grasp. Due to your panic, you lost your balance and fell into the water. You were not prepared for the fall. Salty seawater filled your mouth and your nostrils. You felt the creature let go of your hand. Then you felt two strong hands holding your waist, pulling you up. “HHAAAAAAHH!” You breathed and coughed at the same time as you held tightly to whoever was helping you. You lost your glasses when you fell in and you couldn’t see clearly who it was. Your eyes grew wide in horror when you realized that the person you are holding to had cold and scaly skin. “WAAAAAAHHH!!!” You screamed in the midst of coughing as you squirmed uncontrollably while repeatedly pounding on the creature’s chest. “Wait, hold still,” the creature said in an unnaturally muffled voice. “WWAAA – *cough* – AAAAAAAA – *cough, cough*,” you screamed and coughed in a panic until you managed to push yourself free from the creature’s grasp. However, you didn’t know how to swim and the pool was too deep that your toes couldn’t even
