TAEYEON’S POV

“Oh, ! Andwae!!!!!” For the second day in a row I woke up screaming. Damn! I glanced at the alarm clock on the side of my bed. 7.45 am. Oh. My. Effing. Gosh! I’m late!!!!

Arghh! Why in the world I didn’t set up my alarm clock last night? Now I’m in deep trouble. No time to waste Taeyeon! Get up, take a shower and scram from this house ASAP!

I snugged down from the bed and took the towel that was hanging near the bathroom door and dashed to take a shower.

Inside the shower room, I began cursing myself. Okay scratch that. I’m cursing the human version of sleeping drug/sandman, Lee Jonghyun! This is his entire fault! Beyond no doubt! If only he didn’t have that sleeping effect on me, I won’t fall asleep comfortably and forgot to set my alarm clock.

Mental note to self: do not SPEAK to Lee Jonghyun ever! If not you’ll be late for work like today.

Taeyeon:

But…. Will I be able to sleep if I don’t hear his voice? I meant he’s like officially my human version of sleeping drug/sandman.

Taeyeon’s brain:

Yah! Since when you need to hear his voice just to fall asleep? Don’t’ you think that this is extremely extraterrestrial oddball, bizarre and outrages?! Before this you can just doze off to your so called Lala land without any problem.

Taeyeon:

Hurm… my brain is right. I wonder why he has that kind of effect on me.

Taeyeon’s heart:

Haish… Let me break it down to you. Since he took care of you when you were sick, since he sneakily kissed you on the forehead and since that cold Lee Jonghyun suddenly became warm, you yourself had opened your heart bit by bit to him. That’s why Lee Jonghyun is your human version of sleeping drug/sandman.

Taeyeon’s brain:

Taeyeon! Remember arranged marriage? Remember temporary? Remember DIVORCE? So stop opening your heart to him. In the end you’ll just get hurt.

Taeyeon’s heart:

No! No divorce! He’s a good guy, Taeyeon. Give him a chance. Give yourself a chance. He might be the right guy for you, destined for you to grow old together.

Taeyeon’s brain:

What if he’s not the one? You’ll get hurt.

Taeyeon’s heart:

If you don’t take a chance, you’ll never know what lies ahead in the future. Trust me! He’s worth the risk. Lee Jonghyun is worth the trouble.

Taeyeon:

Enough! I don’t have time to be the referee of your debates. I’m effing late for work here. Let’s continue this some other time okay, Mr. Brainy and Mrs. Heart.

I ran out from the shower room and took out a pale pink sleeveless chiffon shirt with mao collar and a khaki Guipure cotton shorts from the wardrobe. After I finished applying my makeup and satisfied with my appearance, I made my way downstairs.

I glanced at my rose gold tone Guess watch. 8.15 am. “AAAAAAAA!!! I’m late!” I grabbed the chair and sat down before taking a gulp of my coffee. Luckily Jonghyun made breakfast. If not, I’ll just have to buy breakfast on the way to work and that surely going to make me even late for work.

“Another nightmare?” Jonghyun said, sending a hint of sarcasm with a smirk drawn of his face.

“I don’t have time for your early morning mocking session, mister. I forgot to set my alarm and now I’m freaking late for work.” I took a bite of the sandwich. Yummy! Can I just pay him to cook breakfast every day?

I stood up and dashed towards the front door. Before I even had the chance to twist the knob, I saw a stick note in front of the door.

“Don’t forget your KEY, missy :D”

Key? Kim Kibum from SHINEE? Why would I forget him? Key? Key? As in keys!!! Oh my gosh! Not again! Jonghyun was laughing his heart out when he saw me rushing up to my room. Huuuu! He could have told me earlier. Meanie Jonghyun!

Finally, after I managed to find my keys under the total mess inside my room, I walked calmly downstairs. My cheeks scorched in rosy red. I’m older than him but I’m acting like a 5-year-old kiddo. Haish, Lee Taeyeon, when will you mature?

Jonghyun was reading his newspaper when I reached downstairs. You need to thank him, Taeyeon. You have to! If not, you’ll forget your keys once again and well, lock outside of your own house.

“Heyyo, mister. Thank you for the stick note.” I curved a smile on my face as sincere as I can.

“No biggie missy.” Jonghyun too flashed a smile for me.

Waaa…. How come I have a warm feeling inside my heart when I saw him smile?

Hello! Earth to Taeyeon! Enough fawning on your husband! Remember that you’re late for work already!

Crap! Work! I mentally smacked myself!

“Bye, Jonghyun!” I ran outside as fast as I can.

“Don’t run over the traffic light, honey. Drive safely.” I heard Jonghyun shouted from inside.
