Two weeks passed quickly. I hadn’t seen him in two weeks. He had been sick since that day, since he’d walked away he hadn’t come back. Meanwhile Jiyong and I had been taking things slow, he said that he didn’t want to rush things, he liked me too much to do that.

The door opened. He was dressed in his pyjamas and his hair was messy “uh.. Hey? What are you doing here?”

“I just wanted to see if you were ok. Can I come in?” I smiled nervously.

He looked back into the house and answered, “Yeah, I guess so. Come in then.”

“I haven’t seen you in a while, I heard that you were ill. How are you feeling to?”

“I’m alright. I just need some time.”

“Well we’ve all missed you, especially Jiyong, he talks about you a lot.”

“Ah, yeah Jiyong.. Do you want to sit down?”

“Yeah sure, I’ll just sit here.” I sat down on the sofa, he awkwardly sat next to me, leaning on the far edge of the sofa.

“Have you eaten? You look pale.”

“I haven’t eaten yet.”

“But it’s already 4pm, you won’t get better if you don’t eat. I’ll make you a meal, ok?”

“No, I don’t want you to go to the trouble…”

“It’s fine, really. I want to look after you.”

“You’re a really nice girl, you know that, looking after me. We’ve only known each other for over two weeks now. But yet, here you are..”

“Well, I wish I’d met you first because I’m not happy…umm Anyway I need to go and make you some food…Sorry.”

I hadn’t meant to say that, but the words just streamed out of me. I just felt so comfortable and at ease with him like I wanted to tell him everything but I knew that I couldn’t.

His fridge was almost empty, apart from a few deserts and beer bottles. Although there was nothing in the fridge, there was a tin of chicken soup in the cupboard. It wasn’t ideal but I guess it would do. I made the soup and brought it into him.

“This looks really delicious,” he said smiling.

“It’s not much but it’s the only thing I could find.”

After eating we sat back on the sofa and watched television for hours. I felt like I was imposing on him but I just didn’t want to leave. Spending time with him, I was just so happy. I never knew that anybody could make me feel like this.
