Strength Part Deux

Strong

HER POV

I looked at my watch. 11:30pm. I looked up from where I was sleeping on the couch. Had Siwon left? I looked around for him and saw a note on the table in front of me on the living room table.

"Hey, baby. You looked so sweet and beautiful sleeping, I didn't want to wake you. I have schedules in the morning so I had to leave. When you wake up, go to bed! Don't sleep on the couch. I love you. See you tomorrow night."

I smiled. He was so sweet. I looked at my watch again and decided to shower before going to bed, but before I got up I heard the door. Sori! She's back from her date! I got up and opened the door for her. "Sorry! Did I wake you?" She asked. "No no. I was just about to take a shower." She nodded. "But before I do that, how did your date go?" I walked to the kitchen for some water. I pulled a bottle from the fridge and drank. She came in smiling and waltzing like she was on Cloud 9. "It was so wonderful, --------! He is such a great man! We went to the mall and shopping and took pictu-OH! I want to show you!" She rustled through her purse, but then she had a confused look on her face. "Hmm? That's weird. I had it earlier..." She continued to dig until she knew for sure it wasn't there. "That's strange. --------, can I use your phone? Maybe I left it in my boyfriend's car." I scoffed. "Typical Sori." I smiled and handed her my phone, but before she could call anyone, it rang. "Hmm? You're getting a call, but it's from a blocked number." She looked at me and we were both confused. "That's weird." I said. I took it from her and answered in Korean. "Hello?"

"You don't deserve him, you stupid ugly American! I will kill you when I see you! I am going to make sure you and Siwon are never together again, you !" And she hung up. I stood there wide-eyed and unmoving. Sori, by the expression on my face, grabbed my phone. "Hello? Who is this?" She demanded, but the girl was gone. She looked at me. "--------, are you okay? What did she say?" I was still shocked at what had happened. "--------, you're scaring me. Say something." I blinked and looked at her. Then I smiled. She gave you a "what the hell?!" look. I gave a small laugh and spoke to her. "It was just a jealous fan. I'm sure it's nothing." But I didn't really believe my own words. "Are you sure? It didn't sound like nothing. What did she say?" "Well, she said I don't deserve Siwon and that she's going to kill me when she sees me, making sure that Siwon and I are never together." "WHAT?! --------, that doesn't sound like nothing! That's a serious threat! How did she even find out who you wer-" She stopped talking and her eyes went wide. "What is it?" I asked her. "My phone...I don't think I left it in the car. I think it was stolen."

SORI POV

I felt so bad. How could I have been so careless? Now my best friend was in danger because I was too loud on the phone! Who was this girl making these threats? "If I ever find her..." I was so upset. But more than being upset with her, I was upset with myself. This was all my fault. -------- kept telling me it was okay, that it wasn't my fault my phone was stolen, but I knew it was. If I had not spoken so loud or mentioned Siwon's name, this never would have happened. I sat down on my bed and cried.

HIS POV

I looked at my phone that was ringing. "A blocked number? I wonder who this is?" I was hesitant to answer because I had gotten calls like these before and it had turned out to be fans who were obsessive and loud, just trying to talk to me. After the third ring, I decided to answer it. Maybe it was someone important that just couldn't get a hold of me otherwise. "Hello?" "Is this Siwon oppa?" It was a girl. She sounded young, maybe about twenty years old. I decided to lie in order to protect my number. "Uhm no. You have the wrong number." She laughed. "Oppa, don't lie to me. I know it's you." Who was this girl?! I did not speak. She did instead. "Oppa. Why are you dating an American girl? You should uphold Korean tradition, hmm? It made me very angry to find out you were in a relationship. I'm hurt, oppa. Don't you know how much I care about you?" She sounded drunk and crazy. I still did not speak. Only listened. "Oppa...I know who she is..." she slurred her words. "Her name is -------- isn't it?" My eyes went wide. "I know where she lives too, oppa. You should break up with her. Or else I don't know what I could do..." That made me angry. "Why are you doing this? You call yourself a fan? If you hurt her..." I was furious. Nobody threatens my girl. She laughed like she thought I was funny. "Oppa...there is a simple solution! Just break up with her!" She yelled. Her voice was menacing. But I decided to remain firm. "Listen, I know you are upset, but this is my life and I will make my own decisions. I'm sure you will find someone to be happy with someday. It's not me. I'm sorry. Don't call this number again." And I hung up. I stood there thinking about what I had said and took in what was happening. Then my phone buzzed again, this time with a text message. I opened it and it was a picture. Of -------- and Sori's apartment. Immediately I called -------- and got my things and rushed out the door. She answered. "Hello? --------? Are you okay? Where are you?!" I was out of breath from running all the way to my car. "Siwon, what? Slow down! I'm at Sori's high school. What's going on?" I sighed in relief. Thank God. "Listen, I got a call from a girl just no-" "You too?!" My eyes went wide again. "What? She called you?" I asked her, shocked. "Yeah, last night. She stole Sori's phone from the mall, Siwon. She said that I didn't deserve you and made some threats." "What threats?" She hesitated. "--------, WHAT THREATS?" I asked stirnly. "I'm sure it was just talk, but she threatened to kill me and make sure that we'd never be together again." I sighed and rested my head on my arms over the steering wheel. I didn't speak for a minute. Just prayed. "Hello? Are you still there? Siwon, what did she say to you?" I spoke softly and told her what happened. "She knows where we live?! Oh God, Siwon...what do we do?!" She was scared. And she had every right to be. I felt bad for having fans that would put her in this situation. "It's okay, --------. Calm down. I am never going to let anything happen to you. I swear I will protect you and Sori both." She sighed. "Okay. Well what do we do now? Should we report it to the police?" I nodded even though she couldn't see me. "Of course. I'll take care of it right now. When do you and Sori get off work?" "Five." "Okay. Stay there and I will pick you up. Then we'll go to your place and pack some things. You'll stay with my parents for a while." "Are you sure, Siwon? We don't want to be a burden to them." "No no. Don't worry about it. They will love having you and Sori there. Jiwon too." She paused. "If you're sure, Si. I trust you." I sighed again. "This all makes me so angry. And sorry to you." "Siwon. Don't you dare blame yourself for this. I knew what I was doing when I said yes to you. This is just a bump in the road. We'll get through this and be fine. Don't let a fan rob us of our joy. We are protected by God, remember? Nobody messes with his children." I smiled. She was so full of wisdom. That made me feel a little better. "Thanks, babe. That really helps. I'm going to the company now to let them know what's happening and then we'll report it. For now, stay safe and use caution for everything. If something doesn't seem right, call me." "Okay I will. I love you, Si." "I love you too. I'll take care of this, --------. I won't let anything happen to you." She laughed. "I know. Niether will God. And he's bigger than you. But thank you." I laughed. She was so optimistic. I hung up and drove to my company. They needed to know about this ASAP. When I got there, I parked in back and avoided some fans to get inside. Once inside the building, I ran into Eunhyuk, Donghae, and Kangin coming out of an office. They knew by the look on my face that something was up. "Hyung. What's going on?" I stopped and sighed. "--------'s been threatened. A fan found out who she is and is now threatening to kill her if I don't break up with her. I'd just let it go because she's a fan, but she stole Sori's phone and sent me a picture of their apartment. She knows where they live." The guys were shocked. Nothing like this had happened in a long time. "Can we do anything to help?" Donghae asked. "Actually, yeah. Can you just keep an out for them when I'm not around? If you don't have schedules, go hang out with them while I am finish mine?" They nodded. "They are fun to be with anyways, and if someone tries to hurt them then SWACK!! They will taste the fury of KangEunHae!" Eunhyuk said, making karate motions. Donghae laughed and Kangin rolled his eyes. I smiled and thanked them and continued up to the office of our main director. When I got there, his secretary let me in. I walked in to his office and found him at his desk. I bowed and greeted him first. "Sir." I said. "Something's happened." And I explained everything.

An hour later, the police were standing in the office with us and writing their report. "And when did she call you? May we look at your phone records for proof?" "Of course." I answered. Once they finished asking their questions, they told me that they'll need to speak with --------. I hesitated. I didn't want to pull her into all of this even more, but it was true that they needed the whole story. I slowly nodded. "Yes. You can speak with her, but she is at work right now." "It's okay. Just come by the station and ask for Sgt. Kim." I nodded. "Ne. I will come later today then." They nodded and prepared to leave. The director got up and shook their hands. "We hope to work together to bring justice in this situation. Thank you for your hard work." They returned the handshake, nodded, and left. The director turned to me. "Do you have a place for -------- and her roommate to stay?" "Ye. They will stay with my parents." He nodded approvingly. "Good. Take the rest of the day off and go get them from work. Take them both to the police station first. Sori will need to sign as a witness." I nodded. "Thank you for your help, sir." He smiled. "Siwon, that is what I'm here for. Just be safe and protect your love. Fight for it." He pumped his fist. I smiled, bowed, and left to do what he asked.

HER POV

Sori and I were getting our things together. Siwon would be here any minute. We were so distracted today that we had to give the kids worksheets to do. My mind was too busy to teach a lesson. She was just as bad as me. After I was done, I walked over to her. "Sori-ya." She looked at me. Then her eyes welled up with tears and I hugged her tightly. "Sori-ya. Ne chingu. (My friend) This is really not your fault. How could you have known a girl like that would be around?" She cried and hugged me back. "Still. I shouldn't have spoken too loud. I should've been more careful." I just squeezed her. "It's okay, friend. I am not mad and I will love you forever." She squeezed me back. "I'm so sorry." "Yah. Don't be. We will stick together through this, hmm?" She nodded. We broke the hug and she wiped her eyes. My phone rang. It was Siwon. "I'm here." He said. He sounded better than this morning. We walked out to the car arm in arm and Siwon let us in the car. When he saw Sori, he gave me a questioning look. "Later." I mouthed. He nodded. We drove back to our apartment, but drove straight into the parking garage. We had called the apartment security earlier and notified them of the situation so they were looking out for any suspicious activity. "Be careful going in. Just walk straight in and don't stop for anything." Siwon told us. We nodded and all got out. He was coming with us. We got into the building and into the elevator. As we got to our door, there was a note on it. We all looked at each other. Siwon took it off the door and opened it.

"Found you." Was all it said, but it was enough to creep me out even more. Quickly, we rushed inside and went to pack our things. We did it in record time; 15 minutes. Once packed, we came out to the front room where Si was waiting. He grabbed our two duffel bags and we held our smaller ones. "Ready?" He asked. "Make sure everything is off. You won't be here for a while." Sori went to check. I dropped my bag and hugged Siwon. He put his arms around me and I never felt so safe. Even with this dumb fan situation, I felt like we were indestructable. Sori came back and smiled. We let go of each other and grabbed our bags. There was a knock on the door. We froze. We didn't move for a long time, until we heard "Security." We sighed and Siwon opened the door. It was security. A kind man had come to us back to the car. We turned off the lights and closed the door and walked to the car. I was looking around the whole time, looking for this mystery girl that was messing up my life. I saw no one but the neighbors. We got to the car and put our bags in the trunk and we got in after. Siwon started the car and we headed to his parents house. Once we were there, they met us outside. We got out and his mother came to me, enveloping me into a hug filled with warmth and love. For some reason, I cried. Maybe it was because she was so motherly and comforting. She just hugged me and rubbed my head whispering "Shh. Shh. Omma is here." Siwon looked on with tears in his eyes. His father walked up to him and hugged him as well, but pulled back and put his hand on his shoulder as a sign of strong manly comfort. "The Lord is our strong protector." He said. We all agreed. They took us inside and Sori and I decided to share a room, even though there were more available. I just wanted to be near someone and she made me feel safer. We put our bags down and then went to the kitchen to eat dinner. After dinner, Siwon had to leave. Sori went to wash up and prepare for bed. It had been a long day. I followed Siwon out to the backyard area. We closed the door behind us so we could be alone. Once there, he pulled me into his arms and tears fell down his cheeks. "I'm so sorry this is happening to you." He rested his forehead on my shoulder. I, with my arms still around him, told him to look at me. He slowly raised his head to meet my eyes. "Siwon. Oppa." I smiled. He returned a weak smile. "I am not angry or regretful in any way. I still love you. I would deal with a thousand angry fans for you. You are worth going through any uncomfortable situation." He kept looking into my eyes. "Siwon...I'm not going anywhere. Nobody can ever scare me away from you." I smiled encouragingly. He smiled back, this time with more enthusiasm. "You are really the best." He said. "You are my life. I love you." We were still in each others arms as he leaned down and kissed me. Gently at first, but then with more passion and love. We kept kissing until we heard a knock on the door. His parents peeked out and we looked over. We let go of each other as they came outside. "Sori is asleep." Omma said. She looked at me. "You should get some rest too." His father nodded in agreement. "Yeah, that sounds good." I said. "Thank you so much for taking us in. I really appreciate you both." I hugged his mother. And then I turned to hug even his father. He wasn't much of a hugger, but he returned the hug anyways and I felt his fatherly affection. It made me miss my own parents. I'd have to call them before I sleep. I hugged Siwon again and said goodnight. I then walked inside to shower. Siwon stayed outside with his parents.

HIS POV

"Take care of her." My parents told me. "They both are going to need encouragement." "What did the police say?" My father asked. "They are investigating and watching the apartment for any suspicious activity. They are also tracing the location of the call. They think she's using Sori's phone for the calls." They nodded. "I'm sorry to bring them here like this. I just knew that they would be safe here. Then fans don't know where you live." They nodded again. "It's okay, son. It's okay." Tears filled my eyes. They were so awesome. I love my parents so much. My mother took me in her arms. "Aigoo. This must be so tiring for my son." My father put his hand on my shoulder again. "Let's say a prayer before you go." I nodded and we all prayed for the protection over our lives and for the heart of this girl who was jeopardizing them. Then I said goodbye to my parents and left.

HER POV

I stepped out of the shower and got dressed. Then, I walked over to the desk on the far side of the room and opened my laptop. I needed to talk to my parents. I had already texted my mom to tell her I was about to call, saying it was important. I looked at the time. 1 in the morning. That means it was 11am their time. I got up and left the room, deciding to speak in the living room so I would not disturb Sori. All the lights were off so I one lamp and sat down on the couch and called my parents. After taking a second to connect, I saw their faces and smiled. "Heeey!" They called and I laughed. I was so happy to see them. "How's it going over there?" I asked. "Great! We are just coming back from breakfast. How are you? What's going on, honey?" My mom asked. She always knew when something was up with me, even when I tried my best to hide it. My eyes welled up with tears and I told them everything. I also had to explain Korean fandom to them so that they would understand the situation more. When I was done, they sat there quietly thinking for a moment. Then my dad spoke. "Do you want to come home for a while?" I shook my head. "No. That's exactly what she wants. And I couldn't leave Siwon or Sori." They nodded. "Do you want to pray about it? We can pray right now." I smiled and nodded yes. Then my father, a retired police officer, led the prayer. When he was finished, he asked me some questions about Korean law enforcement. Then he suggested I speak with the US Embassy if things get any worse. I nodded and then yawned. "What time is it there?" My mom asked. "It's almost 2." I answered. "Well, baby, get some sleep and we can talk later. Keep us updated, okay?" I nodded again. "I love you guys. I'll come for a visit soon. Maybe I will even bring Siwon and Sori with me." They nodded and smiled and we said our goodbyes. I clicked the window closed and shut my laptop. I sat there in the dim light for a moment. Then I sent up some more whispered prayers. I felt stupid for being worried over one girl. How much damage could she even do? I was frustrated that one girl had caused this worry, but I knew that God had my back just in case.

SIWON'S FATHER

I watched her pray from my position in the dark hallway. I had gotten up to get some water and to pray as well, but it looks like she had beaten me to it. I smiled. This girl was a real woman of God and I admired her heart and her character. Although she is an American, I can not imagine a better woman for my only son. It was a little awkward at first when we met, but it helps that she's fluent in Korean now. My wife loved her from the start. She's always been a good judge of character. And I also approve wholeheartedly. I love this woman as if she was my own daughter. My son is a lucky man.

Chapter 13: Man, plot twist! Sorry if I'm commenting too much. I just really like this story.
Poor Siwon. That scene is so sad. And obviously, I feel bad for the girl, too. I mean, it's no fun to get hit by a car.
