Chapter 4
Who Should I choose?( read the authors' note)
JR was smiling widely at me when I opened the door. He was dressed casually yet stylish. That smile of his was blinding nice to look at. “Hey! Looking good,” JR greeted me. “Not too bad yourself,” in return.
“Shall we get going now?” JR asked. I nodded and gestured him to wait. I grabbed my purse on the counter. JR’s head popped in, “Nice place you’ve got here!” I smiled a thank you. “Let’s go shall we?” I said closing the door behind me.
We went from the top to the bottom of Lavender Aisle. There wasn’t much in Lavender Aisle. Just like you simple community of people you have in your own community. I brought him to my favourite places. There was the ice-cream parlor at the corner of the neighbourhood. Not many knew about that place. It was quiet and peaceful.
We bought each a scoop of ice cream to walk to the next destination.
We were laughing and talking all sorts.
JR was his ice cream when he tilt the cone too much and ice cream got onto his nose. I laughed out loud when I saw that sight. He looked so cute and I raised my hand semi-conscious of what I was doing. I wiped of the ice cream and cleaned on a piece of tissue. I looked up at him and saw JR looking at me intently. I looked straight into his eyes, captured by the soul in it. We stared at each other for a full 50 seconds till someone walked past and said, “What a cute couple.” That jolted me, I flushed red as a tomato and looked to the ground, confused and embarrassed. What in the world was that?! o.o
JR’s POV
She looked so beautiful when she laughed. I think I like her… She helped me wipe the ice cream off my nose and I got caught in her brown eyes they were so captivating. She looked back and also did the same to me. It was as if time stop and we were the only ones living, able to move in frozen time.
She suddenly looked away an I felt that tinge of wanting her to look back again. What was it called? Longing for someone you love?
Her face went red and she was fanning herself, looking at anywhere but me. She looked really cute, doing that.
I tried to sweep the awkwardness away by grabbing her hand and dragging her to lead me to the next place. “Where are we going next?” I asked. Surprisingly, she didn’t le go of her hand. She actually held onto my hand tighter as we ran and didn’t let go when we reached the traffic lights. I wasn’t intending to tell her. I’ll be selfish and enjoy the moment. “We can go to the arcade! I love that place! My mom used to bring me there on my birthdays. I go there by myself now,” she crossed the road with me and started walking real fast. I guess she’s excited as I am. To think she didn’t let go of my hand, does it say something? Does she like me too?
