Chapter Twenty-two

I'm All Caught Up (hiatus)

Due to my injury I was allowed to have the day off. It felt good being able to sleep in especially since my prescription was so strong that it had knocked my out until the afternoon. "," I mumbled as I looked to the time to see it was tweleve in the afternoon. As good as it felt sleeping I wanted to take this opportunity to check on my pony.

After a quick shower I began to head out to bump into someone, "Ouch!"

"Oh sorry," I looked to see it was GD who had ran into me.

"It's okay," I grinned as I began to walk past him. It was the first time seeing him in the mansion, but there was a lot of first times being in this family.

"Minzy," he called after me. I stopped to look back and watched as he quickly walked up to me. "Umm..."

"Yeah?"

"I..." I watched as he hesitated and couldn't understand what he wanted.

"GD if you're looking to argue right now I'm not in the mood," I warned him.

He shook his head as he sighed, "I actually wanted to apologize." Apologize?! Did I hear right?! "Look, I know I've been rude to you..." I gave him a knowing look to let him know that rude was only scratching the surface, "Alright I've been a complete , but you have too!"

"Umm if you call insulting an apology I don't..."

"No, no...I just...look I ed up and have been really harsh towards you and I want to say I'm sorry. I'm sorry for judging you in not taking this family so seriously. And if there is anything I can do to help you with to let me know," he grinned.

"Why...that's the first time I've ever seen you grin at me," I teased making him chuckle.

"Hey I'm really a nice guy once you get to know me," he defended himself.

"Well thank you, you're right I haven't been the best at showing that I want to be here but now I do." I paused as the thought of my dad came to mind, "GD?"

"Hmm?"

"If I remember right, you're the best with guns right?"

"You know it," he proudly said.

I smiled at his boyish charm, "Can you teach me all there needs to know about guns?"

"Sure, I mean I am supposed to do that anyways," he grinned.

"Alright thanks, I want to show the boss that I belong here."

"Well I for one believe you do after taking that dagger yesterday."

"Thanks, what happened to that guy anyways?" His grin faded as he went quiet. "Umm, nevermind. Well I better go," I tried to get myself back onto his good side.

"Alright, I'll see you probably tomorrow for training," his grin reappeared as he waved.

"Bye," I nodded before walking away.

I don't know exactly where my pony is so it's probably best to ask the boss. Hopefully he isn't busy right now. Making my way out of the elevator and towards the big main door I saw Top standing in front of it with his arms crossed. "Yes," he asked with his deep voice as he continued to stand in place.

"Umm...is the boss busy right now?"

"Yeah, what do you need?" How should I put? Will he laugh at me if I ask him where my pony might be? I don't want to sound like a little kid! "Minzy?"

"Uh..." I looked around to make sure no one was around before a stepped a little closer, "Do you by chance know where I can find my pony?"

"Oh...well..." he held a straight face and luckily didn't laugh at me. "Hold on a sec," he held an index up before taking out his phone. "Hey you're the one that's been taking care of Minzy's pony right? Alright get your  out here." Top hung up the phone as he looked at me, "He'll be out here in a lil."

"Thank you," I smiled to him as he nodded and stood in place.

Within seconds the door behind him opened and closed and to my surprise it was Taeyang. "What's up," he asked Top.

"She wants to see her pony," he nodded over towards me.

As Taeyang's gaze fell upon me I felt the urge to blurt out an explaination or something, "I...well if you just point me in the the direction I can go find the pony. You can go back..."

"I'll take you to it," Taeyang cut me off as he walked past me.

"Okay," was all I could say as I started to follow behind him. I'm already on his bad side, so I'm just going to go with it before he puts me on his black list.

The walk was quiet between us as he led me to the elevator that I would always enter for training in the forest, but pushed a different button. Standing next to him in the elevator I did my best to keep my gaze fixed on anything but him as the silence continued. Thankfully the elevator ride was quick as we were let out in what looked like the forest, but just a different part.

I couldn't help the small grin that formed at the corner of my lips when I saw a small stable. As we walked closer I could hear my pony and became a little anxious to see it.

I watched as Taeyang opened the top of a two peice door, "Come here boy."

Within seconds I saw my white pony stick its head out making me squeal, "YAY!" Quickly clasping a hand over my mouth in hopes that he didn't hear me, I quieted myself as I stepped next to Taeyang and my pony. "So you're a boy huh," I smiled at my pony who slightly moved as if nodding. This made Taeyang and I chuckle.

"Here," he said handing me some oats. "Hold this out to him so that he can get used to you." Nodding I slowly extended my hand towards the pony who soon after gladly ate the oats in my palm, "Oh he took a liking to you quick."

"He knows his true owner, don't you boy," I cooed at the pony who let out a puff of air signaling a yes.

Taeyang chuckled as he looked to me, "I guess so, so what are you going to name him?"

I turned and grinned at Taeyang before looking back to my pony, "That's a good question, huh boy? What do you think your name should be? Billy? Bob? Don?" Each name seemed as though the horse wasn't approving any of them. How about Danny?"

"Danny?"

I nodded as I looked at my white horse, "That's a perfect name for you Danny the pain in the to me but at the same time a saving grace. What do you think Danny?" I smiled as I watched the horse bob it's head up and down.

"I think you should pick a different name," Taeyang interjected.

"Why? Danny here likes the name and I like the name so why not," I asked as I looked to him for an explaination.

I looked to see as his eyes went dark as if I tried to burn right through me with that intense glare, "Just...pick another name."

What the hell?! He is my horse, "But why?"

Taeyang shook his head as he bit his lower lip at me, "Minzy...can you please pick another name?"

I stood in place looking at him struggle to control his rage over a name of a horse and sighed. I don't need this fight right now. It's my day off and I want to enjoy this day, "Okay then...how about..." I paused to turn my attention back to the pony. "Dougie!"

"Dougie?"

I nodded as I looked to Taeyang, "That's the name I wanted to name my first pet."

He chuckled as he shook his head looking to the pony, "Hey Dougie."

"Can I ride Dougie?"

"Are you okay to ride Dougie?"

"Uh yeah," I lied not knowing if it was really okay. "Could you help me though?"

"Sure," he smiled at me before opening the bottom of the door to let Dougie out so he could saddle him. Luckily for Taeyang I was able to lean on him for support as I pushed myself up with a little pain. "Are you okay?"

"Yeah," I smiled down as he pulled us out into the forest.

I inhaled the fresh fragrance the forest gave off and couldn't help but sigh at the beauty that surrounded me, "It's beautiful out today."

"Yeah it is," Taeyang smiled up at me before turning his gaze foreword to lead us.

We both strolled in silence for a bit having small talk from time to time until we came to what looked like the edge of the forest. He walked Dougie and I out to the open field where I was able to see the sun starting to set. It was a beautiful sight seeing the various streaks of orange and pink light the sky.

"It's beautiful," Taeyang spoke up.

I grinned as I couldn't a grin more, "Yeah, it is."

"Minzy..."

"Hmm," I replied as I sat staring at the goregous view. As beautiful as it was, there was a quiet silence that made me pull my gaze away to look at Taeyang. He stood staring up at me and I couldn't help but raise my eyebrow up at him. "Yes?"

He sighed as he turned his gaze to the sunset and I hesitantly turned my gaze back, but this time wondering what he was trying to say. Whatever it was, he seemed to be struggling to say it. "I'm...I'm sorry Minzy."

"Hmm?" What in the world is he apolo...

"I'm sorry for losing my temper with you so easily. I just...I promise I'm not usually like this. It's just..."

I sighed understanding it was my turn to step in, "No I should be the one apologizing. I'm sorry for not being the ideal member. I just..." I paused as I stared out at the sun disappearing behind the mountain tops revealing the last bit of light. Should I be real with him? "I shouldn't blame my past life, but I don't know how else to explain it to you. I..." The flashes of my broken home to Teddy's daily beatings ran through my mind and I couldn't help the tears that were forming at my eyes. How did I really survive it all? How was it that I'm here at all today?

"Minzy?" I shook my head and blinked away the tears that were now blurring my vision. How embarrassing!

"I...I'm sorry..." I quickly wiped at my eyes feeling pathetic.

"You don't have to apologize. Just know that you have a new life here Minzy. We're your family now," I looked down to see him smiling up at me sincerely. Biting my lower lip as I nodded I listened to him continue. "I know it's going to take some time to accept this, but know that we really are your family now. I will protect you and it's okay to cry to me."

"Why," I thought outloud.

He sighed as his smile went to a half grin, "Minzy that's what a family is all about." I closed my eyes hating the fact that I couldn't stop the tears from falling. I think it's the stupid drugs I'm on that has me feeling so vulnerable right now. "We should probably head back." I nodded with my eyes still closed to try and stop this waterfall. "Minzy it's okay, you can cry," I heard Taeyang's voice pierce right through me and that's all it took. I cried the entire way back as my sad life played out in my mind. "We're here," his voice called up and I quickly opened my eyes to see that in fact we were back at the small stable.

"Th...thank you," I stuttered as he helped me down.

"Come here," he said as he wrapped his arms around me. Before I knew it, I was tightly pulled up against his chest. This made more tears spill over as I closed my eyes and imagined Danny. Danny you ! I hate you for making my life so miserable!
