Chapter Sixty Two

Misunderstood, The

It was evening time, and quite frankly, Kris could sleep. There was nothing he wanted more than his pillow and comforter wrapped around him at the moment. He had spent the greater part of the early morning till afternoon reading and rereading company policies. Now that is was evening, his eyes were crossing. True, he wanted to be well versed in all things Agit Night, so it took a little extra if he wanted to prove himself to the “big wigs” a little earlier than most new company hires. This time his ambition would come in handy and he would use the quality aright – after he took a nap.   “You look like crap,” the voice of Jaejoong rang out, a familiar laugh following behind.   “Jae, Addi,” Kris nodded in acknowledgment. “I'm about to call it a night, I can't stay up much longer.”   Addi gave a slight pout, “Aww, I wanted to invite you to dinner with me. You work so hard, I wanted to treat you.”    Kris got a little more energy at the thought of food, before his shoulders drooped again, “Can we shoot for another time? I am really tired and probably won't be the best company for you.”   “It's ok, I understand. How about tomorrow night?” she smiled.   Jae, who simply watched on at the interaction, agreed on Kris's behalf, “That would work perfectly, Addi! He will be ready to go tomorrow.”   Kris only gave a half suspicious, half bored look at his friend. He didn't bother adding his own sentiments to Jaejoong's statement since he would have said the same exact words anyway. Jaejoong turned to look at him, smile still bright on his face, “Before you leave, can I discuss somethings with you?”   The temptation to say no was strong within Kris, but he shrugged instead, “Sure, my pillow can wait a few more seconds.”   “I will excuse myself then,” Addi quickly interjected, giving a small wave and smile as she walked toward the door. Both gentlemen said their farewells, Kris a little more sluggishly than Jaejoong.   “What is it? I lied about my pillow waiting, you know?” Kris got straight to the point as soon as his office door shut.   “Can't I sit down first?”   “No.”   “No?”   Kris sighed, “Yes, no. that would mean this conversation would last longer than a few seconds, and honestly, I'm not really interested when I'm this tired.”   “Isn't that fabulous?” Jaejoong commented sarcastically. “Well Kris, excuse me, but I really have to tell someone about Nana before I go to bed.”   Upon hearing Nana's name, Kris really wanted to leave. As far as he was concerned, his dealings with Nana ended with his last conversation with her. But if Jaejoong just had to talk to him about it, “What has she done now?”   The older male gave a groan, wiping his hand down his face then through his hair, “She confuses me, and makes me weak all at the same time!”   Kris only gave a bland stare at his friend who was always calm, except when things dealing with Nana came into play. Everyone had a Kryptonite or Achilles heal, but the fact that Jaejoong's was a woman like Nana, made Kris feel slightly sorry for the fellow.   “You know I will never really understand what it is she has done that has you wrapped around her finger like that, right?”   “Of course you won't ever understand,” there was nothing that he could explain to Kris that would make him understand any way, “You don't know her the way I do. It's like I love her by default.”   “Well...” Kris started, eyes looking at Jaejoong in a worried way, “I have never been in love before. So sorry, I can't relate.”   “You're still young, you have time. Just know that when you do fall, I will be here to push you down faster,” Jaejoong mumbled in reply.   Kris gave a snicker at his friends grumpy state. But he just couldn't give any kind of assistance, advice, or comfort in situations he has never dealt with before, “So what exactly did she do? She wants to get back with you or something?”   Plopping down in the chair – causing Kris to wince, because the last thing he wanted Jaejoong to do, was get comfortable – Jaejoong sighed again, nodding his head in confirmation of what Kris said.   “She wants to give 'us' a chance,” there were many things that ran through Jaejoong's mind as he thought of the meaning of 'us'. Not only did he never think they were an item, he didn't think that she would leave his side either. He just didn't think about their relationship period, until he knew he was in love with her.   “So give her a chance,” Kris gave a quick shrug of his shoulders, slopping down into his seat further for comfort. “It's not like you don't want to.”   With a dramatic roll of his eyes, Jaejoong stood up recognizing when he wasn't really wanted, “Go to bed, Kris, you're advice is lacking.”      ~~~~~~~     The minute his head hit his pillow after a long and hot shower, Kris felt he would be on the next flight to heaven in 3.25 seconds. That is, until he heard his door crack open and quick light flowing into the room just to disappear again.   There was someone in the room with him even though he tried to pretend he didn't know that and squeezed his eyes tighter, willing sleep to come faster.   The person didn't say anything for a while, their breathing seemingly getting louder with the silent space. It was beginning to bother Kris how aware he was of the others presence when he should be disappearing from earth's consciousness at the moment.   “I know you aren't sleeping,” the quirky voice of Jongdae rang out around the room. “I need to talk to you.”   As soon as he muttered that sentence he tensed at the loud growl that erupted unexpectedly from Kris. The ridiculously taller individual began thrashing at the covers on the bed as if he was having a mini tantrum.    “Can't you see I was trying to sleep?” Kris muttered with a dark voice.   “I gave you a chance. I just watched you to make sure you would go to sleep so I would know whether to disturb you or not. You didn't go to sle-,”   “I was trying!” Kris interrupted, his usually quiet voice ranging louder with agitation.   Jongdae shivered slightly, head bowed and secretly glad that it was dark in the room so Kris couldn't see him outwardly cowering, “You failed.”   “If I get out of this bed, I will choke you until your last breath, you understand?” The threat was empty but it sounded promising nonetheless to Jongdae's ears.   “I don't need you to get up, I just quickly have to talk to you,” Jongdae rushed to appease.   Kris sat up regardless, the lack of windows in the room making it impossible for Jongdae to

Chapter 29: Aaaw Lyn and Jongdae, I think they're "progressing" on becoming closer..
And the more further I get in this story, the more I realize/think Nana is so selfish and vain. She may be fare when it come to salaries, but at the end it's just all about her..
