Kris found himself reading and rereading the schedule that Nana had outlined for him and his roommates. Nothing was too tight, but it still suggested that certain luxuries be refrained from till after promotions. Those luxuries weren’t anything that he would feel personally if they were limited, but he knew a few of his roommates that would feel there removal ten fold and it was his job to make sure they stayed away for the time being.   This he was prepared for.   Nana had said that one could have no friends when being ambitious, and she was right. If he implemented this schedule on the day it was to be in force, not only would he become the ‘bad guy’ but he would be hated as well.   He shuffled the papers between his hands as he read the date again…one week from now, everything must be perfect and it will all be on his shoulders.   Good thing he had broad shoulders…   ~~~~~~~   Yixing hurried and dressed himself in his black slacks and a buttoned up white shirt with his suspenders attached.   He had gotten a request early that morning to meet Nana in her office. She didn’t specify what exactly for in her message, so he got dressed in appropriate attire fit for seeing the boss even if his work didn’t start till the evening.   His mind had been entirely crowed with the same thoughts and worries over and over again. He seemed to not receive a break, whether he was awoke or sleeping. Truly he was entirely sensitive and had a great amount of empathy. If he didn’t know better, he would say having such traits were more of a disadvantage than beneficial. If he didn’t feel the need to take on others problems while juggling his own then surely he would be better off...at least that is what he thought.   But he did know better. He knew that without his personality then he would just let his mother work until she died. He wouldn’t care if his father left their family high and dry because he would probably do the same. And he certainly wouldn’t be pulling his hair out over someone who seemed to be attracted to anyone that would leave bruises, scratches, and marks on his skin.    No, he wouldn’t have any of those problems, none of which are his, and be stressing over what could be considered normal everyday life for some people.   Instead, he could be working and putting himself through college like Xiumin. He could be focusing on girls and dating like anyone else would his age. Or he could just be traveling and enjoying his young life rather than feeling the responsibility of taking care of four younger individuals as if they were his creation.   Selfish…extremely selfish is what he would be if he wasn’t the empathic person he was. He worked hard but it was all for a purpose that would pay off in the end, so no matter how stressful situations could get, he was determined to keep his head straight.   Looking in the mirror at his completed look, he walked out; pass Kris who was bent over the kitchenette counter reading papers with furrowed eyebrows and disheveled hair. He didn’t bother speaking to the older as he went out of the door, Kris didn’t seem to notice otherwise anyway.    The ride in the elevator to Nana’s office floor was something else to be worried over. The lady had never requested a private audience with him before, so he didn’t know what to expect. The last impression she had left on him when they first met was enough to make him shudder. The small lady had thrown herself at him and stole his first kiss. She seemed so out of control at that moment, but as of late, her ability to lead shown brighter than anything else and nearly erased that memory out of his head.   Nearly…   Looking into her face now that he arrived to her office had brought back that memory full force. She wasn’t launching at him, nor was she clawing to grip his frame. She was very calm.   “Good morning Yixing,” she smiled softly.   He could feel a sudden blush rising on his cheeks as his mind began to work overtime. Remembering her initially and comparing it to her calm right now mixed with the bossiness she exuberated normally was making him think too many things.   “G-good morning Nana,” he responded none too smoothly.   Her smile didn’t leave her face as she pointed to the long cream couch for him to sit on as she slid from behind her desk. Her heels clicked against the floor till she stepped onto the plush carpeting to take her seat on the identical cream couch opposite of him.   He played with his hand nervously, not meeting her face until she spoke up, “Yixing, I have a favor to ask of you.”    His blank looked told Nana to go on with what she was saying, “Well, I have come to know that you are taking care of your family back home right? Three younger brothers and one younger sister?”   Yixing nodded his head wondering when he spoke of them to her but his mind drew a blank every time.   “I do background checks on my employees if you are wondering how I know that. I also know that out of all of your roommates, you by far are in the most financial crises.”   “I, I am working hard. And I am saving, I have it under control,” he hurriedly assured.   “Well that is nice to know,” she smiled, titling her head cutely. “However, I do know a way that you can make more money. You see, once promotions are over, you will definitely have more clients. But as of right now, you only receive on average 0.5 clients a week. Meaning that you only work three days out of the week and most of the time it is the same client you are tending to.”   He watched her flip open a folder that seemed to hold his whole life in it, “Here it says you have received the most clients this week, but how much money does that leave you with? The client’s tips may come up to what? $500.00 total? And your salary being only on the black brief level gives you how much extra pay in salary? $1000.00 total? I can tell you that is not enough to take care of a family of six.”   He swallowed his saliva in a huge gulp, one that didn’t go unnoticed by Nana, “How do you suppose I make more money? People aren’t pulling towards me as much as everyone else.”    “Well, you are a D.E. and I have a fantasy,” she said not beating around the bush and snapping his folder shut quickly. The smile tugging at the corner of her lips fought with the straight stare she was trying to give him.   “Wh-what do you mean?” he stuttered.   “

Chapter 29: Aaaw Lyn and Jongdae, I think they're "progressing" on becoming closer..
And the more further I get in this story, the more I realize/think Nana is so selfish and vain. She may be fare when it come to salaries, but at the end it's just all about her..
