How is your cheek?

Who Said It Was Gonna Be Easy?

Gi Kwang walks over towards DooJoon and slides down on the floor next to him “Sorry that was a bad idea”

“Nah” DooJoon swallows and frowns “I think it was… needed”

Gi Kwang nods and they sit silently side by side for a good while trying to get past what happened

“Why wouldn’t you tell me about the girl you liked?” DooJoon mumbles

Gi Kwang sighs “DooJoon you have been like a big brother to me for many years and I looked up to you. You never had a nice word to say about love and I just didn’t think you would understand”

DooJoon nods “Okay…” he sighs deeply “Will you now?”

Gi Kwang thinks it over for a bit and nods. DooJoon is making an effort so he should really try and work with him.

DooJoon smiles weakly “What happened?”

“You slept with her” Gi Kwang mumbles and looks down.

DooJoon turns his head and looks down as well “Oh no”

Gi Kwang nods and sighs “I brought her to a party to meet my friends and you because… well you mean a lot to me. I just didn’t expect you to go for her”

DooJoon runs a hand into his hair “I’m so sorry”

Gi Kwang shrugs “It is in the past”

“No it’s not” DooJoon looks at Gi Kwang “I didn’t know you liked her but friends shouldn’t do that. It would be like… you going for Uruha now…” DooJoon frowns hard “Don’t do that please”

Gi Kwang can’t help but laugh a rather weak laugh “I won’t. Uruha wouldn’t go for me anyway. She probably wasn’t worth it. She couldn’t have liked me back when she went with you right?”

“I have no idea” DooJoon hits his head back against the wall “How did I end up so clueless? What else do you got?”

“What do you mean?” Gi Kwang looks at DooJoon and frowns

DooJoon smiles a little “I’ve already taken a bunch of hits today so tell me where else I messed up”

“You want more?”

DooJoon nods “Look… I’m so beat down right now I can’t imagine more hits are gonna hurt anymore” he sighs and looks at Gi Kwang “I’m listening now and I’m taking it in”

Gi Kwang shakes his head “DooJoon you are a dog and you are hopeless with women and everything regarding them and love but you always looked out for me”

“But you don’t trust what I say… There has to be a reason” DooJoon looks back down at the floor.

“There is” Gi Kwang nods “Because you lie”

“I do not?” DooJoon frowns

“The day you found out your grandma died you went to work as normal. No one could tell you were upset” Gi Kwang says in a low voice

“I wasn’t upset” DooJoon turns the string around his wrist and looks down

“DooJoon” Gi Kwang gives him a nudge “It’s me. You loved her”

DooJoon frowns and sighs “She had bad health. I knew it was coming”

“Yeah but still” Gi Kwang smiles “I knew it pained you but even when I asked how you were you just smiled and said life moves on”

DooJoon nods and looks at Gi Kwang “You didn’t believe me?”

“No” Gi Kwang pats him on the shoulder “Because when you walked away from me your fists were tightly closed” Gi Kwang watches DooJoon’s jaw clench “Do you miss her?”

DooJoon forces a smile “Nah I’m good” he looks at Gi Kwang and then frowns “Sorry” he mumbles knowing Gi Kwang saw right through it “Yeah I miss her” he takes a deep breath “I always used to go to her place when dad brought a new woman home. I knew it was only a matter of weeks before they would dump him so I didn’t even bother getting to know them” he sighs “She always told me I should give the women a chance. Sooner or later one had to stick right?” DooJoon huffs “Well guess what he still drives one woman away after another”

Gi Kwang smiles and gives DooJoon a nudge making him look at him “You know that is the first time you have talked about her since she died? It has been 2 years”

DooJoon thinks it over and sighs “Maybe I do try and keep stuff to myself. I just don’t see why anyone would care”

“I care” Gi Kwang smiles at him “Your friends care about you DooJoon. We want you to be happy”

DooJoon sighs “But if I don’t talk about feelings… Why did I say all those things to Uruha? I didn’t even feel ashamed. I just wanted him to know so I blurted everything out” he looks at Gi Kwang “Why did I tell you all those things when I showed up here?”

Gi Kwang shrugs “Maybe he struck a chord in you”

“How the hell did he do that?” DooJoon looks ahead and frowns

Gi Kwang looks at DooJoon and grins “A cute smile”

DooJoon laughs “Well he does have that doesn’t he?”

Gi Kwang nods “Yea… amongst other things right?”

DooJoon smiles and nods. Gi Kwang makes sure to take notice at the way DooJoon smiles, so small and yet affectionate.

“How do you really feel about him DooJoon?” GI Kwang intensely observes DooJoon’s expression.

DooJoon leans his head back against the wall “I want to make him happy. I want to hold him” he blushes a little and looks at Gi Kwang “Hell I want to be held by him” he chuckles and blushes a bit more “It felt right with his arms around me”

Gi Kwang smiles “Tell me more”

DooJoon shrugs “I don’t know what to say” he frowns a little “When I was gonna leave and he jumped up and hugged me from behind… I swear my heart stopped beating for a second. I could feel his chest against my back and it just calmed me. Having him that close… It was like on stage. You know how he used to hang on my back. I never really gave it much thought but that was probably my favorite part of the night… When he would come over and hug me and be all… Uruha” He chuckles “Did you know he stole a kiss from me once?”

Gi Kwang is just smiling at DooJoon’s happy face

“And I’m not talking one of those on the cheek” he looks shortly at Gi Kwang “It was after the show and I was dying to get something to drink and Uruha, as usually, came with a bottle of water but he refused to give it to me and moved it out of my reach. When I leaned in trying to catch the bottle he planted a kiss right on my lips and then handed me the bottle as if nothing happened”

Gi Kwang smiles “You never told me that”

“I was kissed by a guy off course I didn’t’” DooJoon sighs with a small smile still on his face “And I would never admit to blushing like I did. Uruha didn’t see because he was long gone but Ruki came and saw me blushing and I had to come up with some stupid excuse”

Gi Kwang laughs

“Gi Kwang have you had a girlfriend?” DooJoon then asks softly hoping he hasn’t completely ruined Gi Kwang’s love life.

“Yea once” Gi Kwang nods “But it wasn’t really anything and I didn’t even tell anyone about it. She liked me a lot and I was sick of being alone so…” he shrugs “I had a boyfriend I quite liked for about a month” he looks at DooJoon

“Really? Someone I know?” DooJoon smiles a little

Gi Kwang shakes his head “It was then I figured out I could go both ways. He was just really sweet and really took time listening to me and I was quite happy but he had to leave for work and I wasn’t willing to go with him. I couldn’t leave me friends” he smiles bitterly

“You regret it?”

“Some days” Gi Kwang nods

DooJoon nods and looks down “You probably deserved better anyway”

Gi Kwang chuckles “Well listen to you sounding like a normal person”

DooJoon smiles at him “I’m trying”

Gi Kwang nods and leans slightly against his arm “You are doing great. Thank you”

“Do JunHyung know about this?” DooJoon tilts his head and looks at Gi Kwang

“Are you kidding me?” Gi Kwang chuckles “He is such a tattle tale. You can’t tell him anything”

DooJoon laughs and looks down “Yeah you are right”

Gi Kwang smiles happily at DooJoon “It is nice being able to talk to you about this”

DooJoon nods “I think so too. It’s not as awkward as I thought it would be” he hesitates for a moment and then glances at Gi Kwang “How is it being with a guy?”

“Talking about awkward” Gi Kwang laughs “It is… different” he settles for a chuckle “The guy I was with had been with others and he was very sweet. I was scared because… they say it hurts but…”

“You were bottom?” DooJoon smirks

“Some of the time” Gi Kwang blushes “Now the conversation is really getting awkward, could we change the subject?”

“So that is the line” DooJoon laughs

Gi Kwang smiles at DooJoon “Don’t worry. If you really like Uruha and it gets to that it will come pretty natural”

DooJoon nods and they sit silently for a while “How many guys have you been with?”

Gi Kwang laughs “Just or actually cared about?”

“Is there a difference?” DooJoon frowns

Gi Kwang nods “ is great but having it with someone you really care about makes it amazing. It’s not the same”

DooJoon pouts “You think Uruha has been with a lot of guys?” he is off course meaning people Uruha actually cared about and not random although he can’t quite see Uruha being the random kind of guy.

“Well considering how he moves on stage and how beautiful he is he definitely had his pick but I can’t really say how many times he has actually fallen in love” Gi Kwang says after having thought it over

“Yea I still get jealous hearing that” DooJoon mumbles and crosses his arms

“You are gonna be the most possessive boyfriend ever” Gi Kwang laughs and gives him a push

“I will not!” DooJoon yells widening his eyes and blushes. He feels his chest becoming warm when he thinks about being Uruha’s boyfriend and he doesn’t hear the next things Gi Kwang says. He just smiles to himself and rubs his chest softly

“How is your cheek?” Gi Kwang gives DooJoon a push

“Sore” DooJoon frowns “She hit me hard”

“Let me see” Gi Kwang moves a bit and DooJoon turns his cheek towards him.

“Are you sore there?” Gi Kwang grins and pokes a blu-ish spot on DooJoon’s cheek making him flinch.

“That hurts!” DooJoon scolds and pushes a laughing Gi Kwang away. DooJoon looks at him and laughs himself thanking god he has a friend like him.

Chapter 28: This is very interesting...I remember a part about Uruha having relationship problems, himself, although of a different nature than Doojoon's.
What is it that Doojoon will have to find out?
hehe~ you seem to be deliberately putting Doojoon back into his arrogant, protective character ^^ I like how they are mutually submissive ^^ It suggests the equality that ought to be in a real relationship :)
That's one thing I particularly like about this story- the characters' reactions and the way in which Doojoon and Uruha are progressing with their relationship.
I'm very interested by this "secret detail" that seems to be undisclosed to Doojoon, though. Hopefully it won't have a negative impact on his and Uruha's new relationship...

Chapter 27: I certainly have enjoyed this chapter just as much as the last^^
I hadn't ever really thought of it, but now that it seems as though Doojoon is being portrayed as the delicate one in the relationship, or, as a commonplace term, the "submissive", I can say that I find this newfound fragility in Doojoon to be quite tasteful. It's really quite a nice inversion; a stray away from the conventionality of what might be expected from any pairing involving Doojoon and I really like it ^^ Somehow, it certainly seems much more realistic that someone as unsure of himself, as frightened and as estranged from love as Doojoon is, would need someone to take care of him both physically and emotionally. And it just seems appropriate that that someone is Uruha, no matter how pretty or "girly" Uruha's appearance might make him out to be.
It seems like a theme in this story- not judging someone by their appearances or reputation ^^ Like how "player" and "manly" Doojoon certainly has a full range of emotions, as does anyone else, and is by far much more hurt than anyone would ever have perceived. And how Uruha, who seems to be publicly more of a flamboyant type of person, attentive to his implied feminine appearance seems to be the one who can offer Doojoon a sense of safety and protection that he seems not to have ever had before.
Uruha kissing Doojoon's palm is such a tender moment in the story ^^ And, having read and written some mpreg, myself, Uruha wrapping his arms around Doojoon's stomach gave me a faint impression of Doojoon having a baby or something hehe~ ^^' (my mind out of wraps...) but a very loving gesture, indeed ^^

Chapter 26: Yes, yes YES!!!!!!! :D
This chapter made my day, even though it's just starting ^^
I'm so glad it wasn't Doojoon's fault and that girl is just horrible DX.
Yay!!! Uruha asked Doojoon out again!! :D
They're already so cute together and poor Doojoon when he wanted 'his' Uruha ^^ he seems so fragile in this chapter and I liked that ^^

Chapter 25: Oh no...! :(
Doojoon...! What have you done...?!
I have a pretty bad feeling for how things are going to go for Doojoon now... Actually not so much in terms of a relationship, but I think Doojoon himself is going to suffer a lot with what happened...I feel like he's going to give up on himself, not just on a relationship with Uruha but give up on himself as a person...

Chapter 24: This is one of my favorite chapters ^^
I really like Doojoon's dad and how he so easily accepted that his son is in love with a man :)
The chapter was so full of warmth and love and this chapter, more than any other, really shows how Doojoon had changed. It's great to see that he really is love with Uruha and that he's reconciled with his father. It certainly seems necessary for him to love his family before entering into a relationship with Uruha.
It was actually quite striking to hear how Doojoon's father married a year ago and Doojoo wasn't even aware of it. It shows just how distant from those close to him he became.
Hopefully Yoonja's daughter won't give Doojoon a hard time... ^^'
It would be very interesting, indeed, to see Uruha meet Doojoon's parents ^^
and hopefully Doojoon will fnd some solace about his relationship with his mother. That rejection when he was only seven must have been terrible.

Chapter 23: :'(
What an emotional chapter!! It was great, but poor Doojoon! It seems like this was really the breaking point for him,but I'm actually glad that he got so many negative feelings out in the open. It seemed like a necessary thing to do and now people know exactly how he's feeling. I think it is time that he's given a little more care and support ^^ and I think that the fact that he went to apologize to Donghae shows that he is changing and him pushing Donghae out of the way is proof of the good person that Uruha sees in him :D
I really love the realism in this- how Uruha's not plunging into a relationship, but not giving up on Doojoon, either and how Doojoon's coming to face himself :)

Chapter 22: <3
Thank you for thinking of me ^^~ And my exams did go well ^^
That's okay! You take your time in updating- I always love reading this story and I will patiently await your updates :D

I was really glad that Uruha and Doojoon privately spoke with each other in this chapter and that Uruha noticed not only the effort that Doojoon has been applying in trying to change, but also how Doojoon's been struggling with a rather rude confrontation of his faults. I think that having bad feelings go unacknowledge by others is just as bad as dealing with those feelings alone and I was happy that Uruha stood up for Doojoon, despite how much trouble Doojoon's put him through. Doojoon certainly does deserve some notice for his genuine efforts to change.
I like how Uruha is just as protective of Doojoon as Doojoon seems to be over Uruha ^^~ And there was really quite a bit of wisdom in this chapter, about having to trust yourself first, before expecting others to trust you.
I think the seriousness with which Uruha told Doojoon that he liked him and shouldn't let people tell him that he's heartless had quite an impact on Doojoon. It seems to me that this may have been one of the first times, if not the only time, that someone has really seen Doojoon's vulnerability and said to still have feelings for him, regardless. It feels like this sort of reassurance and support is not at all something that Doojoon would have received, prior to speaking with Uruha, on account of his mother not being in his life anymore.
hehe~ in my opinion, there should be even more subscribers for this story! ^^ Although there are not many jrock stories on here and even less "cross-overs", I think that there is a significant audience for this and this is a really awesome story ^^
