Don't listen to them!

Who Said It Was Gonna Be Easy?

That Friday DooJoon finds himself standing outside L.I.F.E. looking up at the huge neon letters. He is excited to see Uruha but he still isn’t quite sure how he is supposed to act around him.

He takes a deep breath and opens the door. He walks in looking at all the busy people running around like busy bees trying to get everything ready. He frowns wondering why it never struck him just how many people it took to make sure the place runs smoothly.

He spots someone falling over something a bit away and hurries over to help “Are you okay?”

The guy looks up at him as if he is crazy. DooJoon frowns. He has actually no idea who he is “Are you new?”

“No I have been here for six months but off course you wouldn’t know that” the guy mumbles and gets back on his feet.

“I’m sorry what does that mean?” DooJoon picks up some things the guy dropped and hands them to him. He looks a bit suspicious “What is with you?”

DooJoon sighs “Changing my life” he smiles a little “I got a feeling I owe you an apology but I’m not sure why”

“You don’t” the guy eases up a bit “You just never really said anything to me before. As I hear you didn’t even know I worked here”

DooJoon nods “Yeah I have been very blind, I didn’t see a lot of things”

The guy shrugs “It is often like that. The people behind the scene is generally pretty invisible to the main attractions”

“I didn’t know” DooJoon digs hands in his pockets

“Nah but it’s not really a problem. They got their own stuff to worry about and I do appreciate that they don’t tell me how to do what I do”

DooJoon chuckles “I know that feeling. What do you do here?”

“I make sure the sound is good in the entire place”

DooJoon smiles “So you are the one. Thank you. You are doing a great job” he shakes the guy’s hand making him look completely baffled “T-thanks”

DooJoon crosses his arms and smiles “Need a hand?”

“Don’t you have to start up?”

DooJoon looks towards the DJ stand “Right…” he looks back at the guy “I should. Sorry”

“You don’t have to apologize for that. It was a nice offer. I really have to get moving. Just let me know if there is anything you want done”

DooJoon nods and smiles “Thanks”

The guys steps a bit away and turns “You are actually very nice DooJoon. I’m glad to find out”

DooJoon smiles and walks towards the dressing-room. He feels good about himself right now. In the dressing-room he sees Uruha leaning against his locker looking far of in thoughts.

He looks up when DooJoon steps in and smiles a little “I thought we needed to talk without the others around”

DooJoon swallows feeling a little uneasy but he can’t help but smile. Just seeing Uruha makes his whole body go warm. He rubs his chest softly as he slowly walks towards Uruha.

Uruha smiles a little but soon frowns “You don’t look that good”

DooJoon looks down and smirks “Is that a way of telling me you don’t find me attractive?”

“Off course not” Uruha softly responds

DooJoon bites his lip and smiles a little bigger

“It means you look like you don’t sleep or eat” Uruha crosses his arms fighting the urge to walk any closer to DooJoon.

DooJoon nods “I could probably do better. You look great though”

Uruha smiles “My friends are watching me like a hawk. If I don’t eat they stuff it down my throat”

“Good” DooJoon looks up at Uruha and smiles. For a little while the silence in the room is awkward.

“You talked with some of the girls?” Uruha mumbles with his eyes on the floor

DooJoon is looking down as well “Yea. Gi Kwang kind of threw me into it. It… wasn’t pretty”

“Did you hear them out?” Uruha looks a bit up

DooJoon nods “Yea I did. It was very hard to hear but the hardest part was when they didn’t think I could change. Actually the comment that stung the most was when they asked me how I tricked you into liking me. Like there was no way you would fall for me when knowing me”

“What?” Uruha looks up “Why would they say that?”

“Because to them I don’t have a heart and can’t possible care for another person” DooJoon crosses his arms and looks away

“They said that?!” Uruha raises his voice a bit and DooJoon looks at him. He can see Uruha is getting angry but he doesn’t understand why. “Not in those words but…”

“Don’t let people talk to you like that!” Uruha takes a step closer to DooJoon who looks at him stunned.

“Don’t listen to them if they say you don’t have a heart. People should never say something like that to others and don’t ever believe them!” Uruha says with dead serious eyes “You hear me?”

DooJoon looks down and nods. He wipes a single tear quickly from his cheek. Uruha steps closer but keeps his hands down his sides “You are a good person DooJoon. I know you are on the inside even if you have your flaws. Everyone has flaws. You just need to bring that good person out… Everyone will see you like I do then” his voice is sweet and caring.

DooJoon swallows trying to keep his voice from shaking “But you don’t trust me”

Uruha sighs and frowns looking at DooJoon’s hanging head and the hand that moves up hiding his eyes.

Uruha moves his head next to DooJoon’s “When you trust yourself I’ll trust you too” he kisses DooJoon’s ear lingering for merely a second and then quickly leaves.

DooJoon leans to the side and slams into the lockers.

Uruha hurries to Seungho’s office slamming the door behind him and then crouches down and hides his face in his hands.

“Uhm… Hey… Uruha” Seungho mumbles with his brows slightly furrowed “What can I do for you?”

“I just need some peace” Uruha mumbles and rubs his temples

Seungho nods and taps on the paper on his desk with a pen “Well you are always welcome here you know that. Take a seat” he gestures at the couch over by the wall

Uruha stands up and silently walks over to the couch where he drops down. He glances towards Seungho seeing him smiling friendly to him

“You want to talk about it?” Seungho tilts his head

“Not really” Uruha looks away. Seungho sighs in a smile and stands up. He walks over to Uruha and sits down next to him. He leans back and looks around silently.

“Don’t you have work?” Uruha glances out his corner of his eye

“I do” Seungho stretches his arms “But I rather talk with you”

Uruha sighs “I’ll go” He motions to stand up but Seungho pulls him back down “No you don’t”

Uruha shakes his head at Seungho “I should have gone somewhere else”

“But you didn’t and I’m the boss so I can keep you here as long as I want” Seungho smirks “So better start talking now”

Uruha leans back “I just talked to DooJoon”

“How is he?”

“Not really himself” Uruha frowns “He just looked… broken”

“Because of you?” Seungho frowns

“God I hope not” Uruha shakes his head “If I was the reason for that I would never forgive myself. He is trying to correct his wrongs and apologize to people he has hurt. It is wearing him down. 6 days ago he was fine and looked healthy but already now he looks like a shadow of himself and what really bothers me is that people are telling him he doesn’t have the ability to care and he believes them! I could see it in his eyes that he was beginning to believe what they tell him and I’m scared what it might do to him if he keeps it up”

“You think your support would help him?” Seungho frowns

“No. He needs to be able to look himself in the eyes and not just me. That I like him how he is won’t be much comfort if he doesn’t like himself. If I find out whose great idea it was to break him down that badly I will punch them!” Uruha stands up clearly agitated. Seungho pulls him back down “What did you say to him?”

“I told him not to believe them and that people will see him like I do. I told him I will trust him when he does” Uruha sighs and leans against Seungho’s arm “Was that stupid?”

“No” Seungho smiles at his friend “You are very clever and now he has a reason to focus on listening to himself. If he really loves you that is”

Uruha sighs “Yea… I hope he figures it out fast. I’m going bloody crazy trying to not touch him”

Seungho laughs “Well you have been alone for over a year”

“I’m feeling like a bloody monk” Uruha chuckles.

“Get to work Uruha” Seungho pushes him away.

Uruha pouts “I was so comfortable”

“I’m not ending your celibacy so move your ” Seungho teases and Uruha laughs and leaves “Thanks Seungho”

“Anytime” Seungho smiles and heads back to his desk. He looks at the camera to the stage seeing DooJoon walking out to make sure there is music for the first people “If I had known how much you would stir up this place and how badly you would make Uruha love you…. I would still hire you” Seungho chuckles to himself and looks down at his table “Damn kids”

Chapter 28: This is very interesting...I remember a part about Uruha having relationship problems, himself, although of a different nature than Doojoon's.
What is it that Doojoon will have to find out?
hehe~ you seem to be deliberately putting Doojoon back into his arrogant, protective character ^^ I like how they are mutually submissive ^^ It suggests the equality that ought to be in a real relationship :)
That's one thing I particularly like about this story- the characters' reactions and the way in which Doojoon and Uruha are progressing with their relationship.
I'm very interested by this "secret detail" that seems to be undisclosed to Doojoon, though. Hopefully it won't have a negative impact on his and Uruha's new relationship...

Chapter 27: I certainly have enjoyed this chapter just as much as the last^^
I hadn't ever really thought of it, but now that it seems as though Doojoon is being portrayed as the delicate one in the relationship, or, as a commonplace term, the "submissive", I can say that I find this newfound fragility in Doojoon to be quite tasteful. It's really quite a nice inversion; a stray away from the conventionality of what might be expected from any pairing involving Doojoon and I really like it ^^ Somehow, it certainly seems much more realistic that someone as unsure of himself, as frightened and as estranged from love as Doojoon is, would need someone to take care of him both physically and emotionally. And it just seems appropriate that that someone is Uruha, no matter how pretty or "girly" Uruha's appearance might make him out to be.
It seems like a theme in this story- not judging someone by their appearances or reputation ^^ Like how "player" and "manly" Doojoon certainly has a full range of emotions, as does anyone else, and is by far much more hurt than anyone would ever have perceived. And how Uruha, who seems to be publicly more of a flamboyant type of person, attentive to his implied feminine appearance seems to be the one who can offer Doojoon a sense of safety and protection that he seems not to have ever had before.
Uruha kissing Doojoon's palm is such a tender moment in the story ^^ And, having read and written some mpreg, myself, Uruha wrapping his arms around Doojoon's stomach gave me a faint impression of Doojoon having a baby or something hehe~ ^^' (my mind out of wraps...) but a very loving gesture, indeed ^^

Chapter 26: Yes, yes YES!!!!!!! :D
This chapter made my day, even though it's just starting ^^
I'm so glad it wasn't Doojoon's fault and that girl is just horrible DX.
Yay!!! Uruha asked Doojoon out again!! :D
They're already so cute together and poor Doojoon when he wanted 'his' Uruha ^^ he seems so fragile in this chapter and I liked that ^^

Chapter 25: Oh no...! :(
Doojoon...! What have you done...?!
I have a pretty bad feeling for how things are going to go for Doojoon now... Actually not so much in terms of a relationship, but I think Doojoon himself is going to suffer a lot with what happened...I feel like he's going to give up on himself, not just on a relationship with Uruha but give up on himself as a person...

Chapter 24: This is one of my favorite chapters ^^
I really like Doojoon's dad and how he so easily accepted that his son is in love with a man :)
The chapter was so full of warmth and love and this chapter, more than any other, really shows how Doojoon had changed. It's great to see that he really is love with Uruha and that he's reconciled with his father. It certainly seems necessary for him to love his family before entering into a relationship with Uruha.
It was actually quite striking to hear how Doojoon's father married a year ago and Doojoo wasn't even aware of it. It shows just how distant from those close to him he became.
Hopefully Yoonja's daughter won't give Doojoon a hard time... ^^'
It would be very interesting, indeed, to see Uruha meet Doojoon's parents ^^
and hopefully Doojoon will fnd some solace about his relationship with his mother. That rejection when he was only seven must have been terrible.

Chapter 23: :'(
What an emotional chapter!! It was great, but poor Doojoon! It seems like this was really the breaking point for him,but I'm actually glad that he got so many negative feelings out in the open. It seemed like a necessary thing to do and now people know exactly how he's feeling. I think it is time that he's given a little more care and support ^^ and I think that the fact that he went to apologize to Donghae shows that he is changing and him pushing Donghae out of the way is proof of the good person that Uruha sees in him :D
I really love the realism in this- how Uruha's not plunging into a relationship, but not giving up on Doojoon, either and how Doojoon's coming to face himself :)

Chapter 22: <3
Thank you for thinking of me ^^~ And my exams did go well ^^
That's okay! You take your time in updating- I always love reading this story and I will patiently await your updates :D

I was really glad that Uruha and Doojoon privately spoke with each other in this chapter and that Uruha noticed not only the effort that Doojoon has been applying in trying to change, but also how Doojoon's been struggling with a rather rude confrontation of his faults. I think that having bad feelings go unacknowledge by others is just as bad as dealing with those feelings alone and I was happy that Uruha stood up for Doojoon, despite how much trouble Doojoon's put him through. Doojoon certainly does deserve some notice for his genuine efforts to change.
I like how Uruha is just as protective of Doojoon as Doojoon seems to be over Uruha ^^~ And there was really quite a bit of wisdom in this chapter, about having to trust yourself first, before expecting others to trust you.
I think the seriousness with which Uruha told Doojoon that he liked him and shouldn't let people tell him that he's heartless had quite an impact on Doojoon. It seems to me that this may have been one of the first times, if not the only time, that someone has really seen Doojoon's vulnerability and said to still have feelings for him, regardless. It feels like this sort of reassurance and support is not at all something that Doojoon would have received, prior to speaking with Uruha, on account of his mother not being in his life anymore.
hehe~ in my opinion, there should be even more subscribers for this story! ^^ Although there are not many jrock stories on here and even less "cross-overs", I think that there is a significant audience for this and this is a really awesome story ^^
