Who Said It Was Gonna Be Easy?

The door opens and DooJoon quickly walks in. He practically jumps up the stairs till he reaches his destination where a very pissed looking Gi Kwang scowls at him “Do you even know what time it is?”

DooJoon nods and pushes himself past Gi Kwang who growls at him “I’m still not talking to you by the way!”

“I know” DooJoon turns and looks at Gi Kwang shortly before bowing 90 degrees “I’m sorry”

Gi Kwang stares at DooJoon still holding the door open “What are you doing?” He mumbles

“I’m sorry I didn’t listen to you. You were absolutely right” DooJoon stays in the bow

“I was?” Gi Kwang frowns and closes the door hitting his foot with it because he wasn’t paying attention. He curses and kicks the door before turning his head back to DooJoon “Could you stand up?”

“Not until you forgive me for being an ” DooJoon states

Gi Kwang rubs his tired eyes “I’m not the one you have been an towards”

“Not as big an no but yes I have been an to you as well” DooJoon calmly says.

Gi Kwang looks at DooJoon baffled “Well… Stand up will you?”

“Not until you forgive me” DooJoon says determined.

“Fine I forgive you now stand up!” Gi Kwang waves a hand and walks over to DooJoon who straightens his back and looks at Gi Kwang who stares back him “You look like . What happened to you forehead and… have you been crying?”

DooJoon smiles a little “Is it that obvious?” a single tear runs down his cheek. Gi Kwang removes it with his thump and frowns worried about his friend “What happened?”

“You were right” DooJoon quietly say

“Yeah I get that” Gi Kwang leads DooJoon over to the couch where they sit. DooJoon places his elbows on his knees “I… I’m quite certain I’m in love with Uruha” he looks down

“You what?” Gi Kwang frowns

DooJoon nods “Figured it out today”

“How?”

“I got jealous” DooJoon sends a look to Gi Kwang “I had been hating DongHae all week because Uruha had gone to him after that morning and Ruki told me Uruha had spent a lot of time with DongHae and last night DongHae was all over Uruha flirting with him and making him blush and I just lost it. I wanted to be the one making him smile. I wanted Uruha to smile at me and not DongHae” he looks back down “I talked with Min… we talked about Uruha when she was here and she was the one who made me admit that I have feelings for Uruha. Uruha wouldn’t even look at me and when I passed him to go on my break he looked away and I just… couldn’t take it” DooJoon pauses to take a deep breath “Then afterwards I found out DongHae was gonna spend the night at Uruha’s place and I really lost it. I don’t know what came over me but I ran after them and acted like some sort of animal punching DongHae and scaring Uruha. I just couldn’t deal with the thought of Uruha being with someone else” DooJoon sighs and bites his lip giving Gi Kwang some time to absorb what he was told.

Gi Kwang nods softly and smiles a little. He remembers a few times he has seen DooJoon go crazy. The first time was when in middle school when someone had been picking on Gi Kwang. DooJoon had told them to get lost and when they didn’t and started hitting Gi Kwang DooJoon went ballistic and beat them up. DooJoon got into a lot of trouble because of it but it was then the bond between him and Gi Kwang became strong and DooJoon has looked out for Gi Kwang ever since.

Every time DooJoon has lost it he has been protecting something dear to him. Once when people talked about how his mother had left him he beat up 5 guys older and bigger than himself.

That DooJoon lost it over Uruha is just telling Gi Kwang that it means something “What happened then?”

DooJoon looks at Gi Kwang “I hugged him. Held him really tight and he held me as well and it just felt so right” DooJoon smiles a little thinking of the moment of happiness they did share before he messed up “We kissed and I could feel it in every part of my body”

“You kissed him?” Gi Kwang asks a little stunned.

“He kissed me first and then I kissed him” DooJoon smiles bigger with his eyes on the table thinking back on how it was. Then he frowns and his expression darkness “Then I was stupid enough to say I had only felt like that for a day and he panicked and pushed me away. I tried to talk to him but he was just so scared and didn’t want to be treated like the girls. I felt like someone was stabbing me with a knife and it just got worse from there. He said he didn’t think he could believe in me, the girls have been asking him why I dumped them” DooJoon desperately looks to Gi Kwang “He looked so hurt… I didn’t know… I felt so bad and said I would have told them not to…”

“You wouldn’t have DooJoon” Gi Kwang frowns “You would have laughed it off”

DooJoon nods and starts sobbing “I know” he breaks down and cries his eyes out. Gi Kwang moves his arms around him to comfort him rocking him back and forth. He doesn’t know what to say.

“He told me to leave” DooJoon sobs “I was going to but fell and he took care of me” DooJoon hides his face in his hands “After all that he still treated me so kindly. I knew I had to go and I got up but he ran after me and hugged me” DooJoon takes a deep breath and looks at Gi Kwang “Why couldn’t I see how much he loved me sooner?”

“You didn’t want to see” Gi Kwang DooJoon’s back “He won’t give you a chance?”

DooJoon relaxes a bit “He is too scared” he takes a deep breath “I’m gonna change Gi Kwang. I want to be a guy he can trust and believe in” he looks at Gi Kwang “I need your help”

Gi Kwang smiles “You have never asked my help before. Did you know that?”

DooJoon frowns “I haven’t?”

“No you always did things on your own” Gi Kwang leans a bit back “You are a proud guy DooJoon and you always tried so hard to come of strong and independent. I think after your mum left you just got afraid of getting let down so you made yourself believe you were better off alone”

DooJoon grits his teeth “Don’t mention her”

Gi Kwang leans towards DooJoon again “I have been wanting to tell you that for years but I was sure you would punch me”

“I’m very close to doing that” DooJoon glares at Gi Kwang who nods “I can see”

DooJoon takes a deep breath and thinks about what Gi Kwang just said. If there is anything he hates it is feeling like he is depending on someone else.

“DooJoon I have known you since we were kids and despite my outburst the other day I really do believe you when you say you like him. You wouldn’t have reacted like you did if you didn’t” Gi Kwang softly says. DooJoon looks at him and smiles “Thanks, can you tell Uruha that?”

Gi Kwang chuckles “I don’t think convincing him that you like him is the problem”

“No getting him to believe I can change is probably a bigger issue” DooJoon mumbles

“Not to believe” Gi Kwang gives DooJoon a push “To see”

DooJoon nods and smiles a little “I’m not sure how I’m gonna do this”

Gi Kwang leans back “Sleep on it” he looks at DooJoon “I’m tired. You can sleep on the couch”

DooJoon nods and looks after Gi Kwang moving a hand to his ear where he touches his earring.

At his last birthday Uruha gave him cash. He had grinned and said that DooJoon would probably exchange whatever he bought so he might as well give him the money from the start. Not wanting to lead Uruha on DooJoon had already decided that he wouldn’t keep anything Uruha gave him so he had been quite pleased with just getting cash and thanked him saying something about spending the money on having a good time.

Well DooJoon didn’t waste the money on random things. 2 weeks after his birthday he still had all the money Uruha had given him. He had tried to use them to buy a drink for a girl but he couldn’t bring himself to do so and ended up using his card because he didn’t have any other cash.

He was quite annoyed that he wasn’t able to just spend the money because it was just money and nothing more. He had walked past a jewelry shop and spotted a couple of earrings he thought were cool. They were quite simple with a stone in each but he liked them. He had stood there for quite some time when the owner came out to ask him if he could help. Apparently DooJoon had been standing there so long the owner had begun to wonder what he was doing there. DooJoon said he was just looking at the earrings and the man had started to tell him about them.

DooJoon ended up buying the earrings. He wanted to use his card but the machine was broke so he ended up spending the money from Uruha and since then he kept thinking that indirectly the earrings are from Uruha. It used to annoy him that he kept thinking about it like that especially because he really loves those earrings and wears them all the time.

DooJoon turns the earring with his fingers and smiles. It doesn’t bother him anymore.

Chapter 28: This is very interesting...I remember a part about Uruha having relationship problems, himself, although of a different nature than Doojoon's.
What is it that Doojoon will have to find out?
hehe~ you seem to be deliberately putting Doojoon back into his arrogant, protective character ^^ I like how they are mutually submissive ^^ It suggests the equality that ought to be in a real relationship :)
That's one thing I particularly like about this story- the characters' reactions and the way in which Doojoon and Uruha are progressing with their relationship.
I'm very interested by this "secret detail" that seems to be undisclosed to Doojoon, though. Hopefully it won't have a negative impact on his and Uruha's new relationship...

Chapter 27: I certainly have enjoyed this chapter just as much as the last^^
I hadn't ever really thought of it, but now that it seems as though Doojoon is being portrayed as the delicate one in the relationship, or, as a commonplace term, the "submissive", I can say that I find this newfound fragility in Doojoon to be quite tasteful. It's really quite a nice inversion; a stray away from the conventionality of what might be expected from any pairing involving Doojoon and I really like it ^^ Somehow, it certainly seems much more realistic that someone as unsure of himself, as frightened and as estranged from love as Doojoon is, would need someone to take care of him both physically and emotionally. And it just seems appropriate that that someone is Uruha, no matter how pretty or "girly" Uruha's appearance might make him out to be.
It seems like a theme in this story- not judging someone by their appearances or reputation ^^ Like how "player" and "manly" Doojoon certainly has a full range of emotions, as does anyone else, and is by far much more hurt than anyone would ever have perceived. And how Uruha, who seems to be publicly more of a flamboyant type of person, attentive to his implied feminine appearance seems to be the one who can offer Doojoon a sense of safety and protection that he seems not to have ever had before.
Uruha kissing Doojoon's palm is such a tender moment in the story ^^ And, having read and written some mpreg, myself, Uruha wrapping his arms around Doojoon's stomach gave me a faint impression of Doojoon having a baby or something hehe~ ^^' (my mind out of wraps...) but a very loving gesture, indeed ^^

Chapter 26: Yes, yes YES!!!!!!! :D
This chapter made my day, even though it's just starting ^^
I'm so glad it wasn't Doojoon's fault and that girl is just horrible DX.
Yay!!! Uruha asked Doojoon out again!! :D
They're already so cute together and poor Doojoon when he wanted 'his' Uruha ^^ he seems so fragile in this chapter and I liked that ^^

Chapter 25: Oh no...! :(
Doojoon...! What have you done...?!
I have a pretty bad feeling for how things are going to go for Doojoon now... Actually not so much in terms of a relationship, but I think Doojoon himself is going to suffer a lot with what happened...I feel like he's going to give up on himself, not just on a relationship with Uruha but give up on himself as a person...

Chapter 24: This is one of my favorite chapters ^^
I really like Doojoon's dad and how he so easily accepted that his son is in love with a man :)
The chapter was so full of warmth and love and this chapter, more than any other, really shows how Doojoon had changed. It's great to see that he really is love with Uruha and that he's reconciled with his father. It certainly seems necessary for him to love his family before entering into a relationship with Uruha.
It was actually quite striking to hear how Doojoon's father married a year ago and Doojoo wasn't even aware of it. It shows just how distant from those close to him he became.
Hopefully Yoonja's daughter won't give Doojoon a hard time... ^^'
It would be very interesting, indeed, to see Uruha meet Doojoon's parents ^^
and hopefully Doojoon will fnd some solace about his relationship with his mother. That rejection when he was only seven must have been terrible.

Chapter 23: :'(
What an emotional chapter!! It was great, but poor Doojoon! It seems like this was really the breaking point for him,but I'm actually glad that he got so many negative feelings out in the open. It seemed like a necessary thing to do and now people know exactly how he's feeling. I think it is time that he's given a little more care and support ^^ and I think that the fact that he went to apologize to Donghae shows that he is changing and him pushing Donghae out of the way is proof of the good person that Uruha sees in him :D
I really love the realism in this- how Uruha's not plunging into a relationship, but not giving up on Doojoon, either and how Doojoon's coming to face himself :)

Chapter 22: <3
Thank you for thinking of me ^^~ And my exams did go well ^^
That's okay! You take your time in updating- I always love reading this story and I will patiently await your updates :D

I was really glad that Uruha and Doojoon privately spoke with each other in this chapter and that Uruha noticed not only the effort that Doojoon has been applying in trying to change, but also how Doojoon's been struggling with a rather rude confrontation of his faults. I think that having bad feelings go unacknowledge by others is just as bad as dealing with those feelings alone and I was happy that Uruha stood up for Doojoon, despite how much trouble Doojoon's put him through. Doojoon certainly does deserve some notice for his genuine efforts to change.
I like how Uruha is just as protective of Doojoon as Doojoon seems to be over Uruha ^^~ And there was really quite a bit of wisdom in this chapter, about having to trust yourself first, before expecting others to trust you.
I think the seriousness with which Uruha told Doojoon that he liked him and shouldn't let people tell him that he's heartless had quite an impact on Doojoon. It seems to me that this may have been one of the first times, if not the only time, that someone has really seen Doojoon's vulnerability and said to still have feelings for him, regardless. It feels like this sort of reassurance and support is not at all something that Doojoon would have received, prior to speaking with Uruha, on account of his mother not being in his life anymore.
hehe~ in my opinion, there should be even more subscribers for this story! ^^ Although there are not many jrock stories on here and even less "cross-overs", I think that there is a significant audience for this and this is a really awesome story ^^
