She just stood there, looking at me in shock. I my lips nervously.

“Erm.. let me.. rephrase that…” I said slowly. She remained quiet.

“I’m waiting” she said and raised her eyebrows slightly.

I pursed my lips and tried to look away from her deathly stare. “Let’s take Jae Hee!” I said quickly and started walking again.

“Junhyung! Jun!” she called after me and I could hear her footsteps from behind. Damn it Junhyung. You seriously have no way out of this.

I reached the garage and went into the driver’s seat and Hyuna followed through, seating at the passenger’s seat beside me. At the corner of my eye, I could see her turning her body towards my direction and looking at me and I find the gears and keys to start the car.

“Junhyung.. Jun.. Look at me. Junhyung look at me,” she said, her voice getting sterner as she called.

Suddenly both her hand reached out for my face and turned my head to face her. “Junhyung, is it true?” she asked softly as she let go of my face slowly. I gulped.

“What is?” I tried to act confused.

“What you said just now.”

“What did I say?”

“Seriously Junhyung..”

“Seriously. I have a very bad memory. Refresh it for me please,” I smiled trying to ease the tense. She tilted her head a little, looking at me in disbelief. I need to know if I really had said that. Or did I just daydreamed it?

“The thing you said that you still love me?” she said. It did happen.

I pursed my lips together and bit my lower lip slightly. I seriously have no other way out. Be brave Junhyung. Face it like a man.

“You still.. love me?” she asked carefully.

“Yes..” I said softly. I really wanted to get out of the car there and then.

“But I know you don’t. I’m not forcing you to love me back. Really. I don’t even plan to actually tell you..” I explained myself.

“Why?”

“Why I still love you?” I chuckled slightly.

“No.. Why didn’t you plan on telling me about it?”

“It’ll be awkward Hyuna. I don’t want you to be awkward living with me when you know my feelings,” I said carefully. She nodded slowly, absorbing the information in her head. She kept silent all the way. See! I told you she would be different! Aishh!!

I leaned back on my seat and sighed. “See. You’re already awkward with me,” I said, sulking slightly.

“Ani…” she started slow.

“I won’t make it awkward for the both of us. I mean, you did take my morning sickness for me. And if it gets awkward between us, it’ll be weird for Jae Hee too. He really likes you,” she said.

I shot my head towards her, not believing my own ears. “Jinja? Jeongmalyo??”

She chuckled and nodded. I sighed in relief and started the engine. She don’t feel awkward, but she don’t feel the same. Just bear with it Yong Junhyung.

“Aish.. where is this guy..” I stood infront of his apartment after a few minutes of knocking on the door, not getting any response.

Its been 2 weeks and I had not seen even a glimpse of Yoseob. I know he said he would be busy from the day I last saw him, but come on.. not even a call? Whenever I called, he won’t answer. When I text, he just replied that he was busy.

I turned to return to my own apartment when I saw Yoseob walking out of the elevator with a girl helping him by his side. He looked sick.

“Ah Yoseob-ah…” I said, walking slowly towards him.

“Oh Junhyung.” He seemed shocked to see me, almost as if he wanted to go back into the elevator to avoid me. He stopped his tracks for a second and then started walking slowly towards me. I recognize the girl. She was his younger sister, Yaeshin . Yoseob looked extremely pale and tired as he got closer towards me.

“Yah Seobbie.. what’s wrong with you?” I asked, placing a hand on his shoulder.

“Oppa, let’s go in first okay?” Yaeshin said. She unlocked the door and went in with Yoseob with me following behind. I was getting worried by the second, looking at how troubled Yoseob was to even sit on the couch. Yaeshin went to the kitchen to get some drinks while I sat with Yoseob in the living room.

“Yah.. are you sick? Since when? Why do you look so pale?”

“Jun.. one at a time please…” Yoseob pleaded, looking at me in pain.

“I have something to tell you. I don’t want to because it will just add on to your own problems at home. But since you’re already here, I can’t hide it anymore,” he said hoarsely and coughed slightly.

I just remained quiet waiting for him to finish what he had to say.

“I.. I uh.. I have kidney failure.” Yoseob looked down on his hands, waiting for my reply. I felt that my world just dropped to the lowest point in the universe hearing his words. He’s my bestfriend that has already become like my own brother. I just.. couldn’t believe it.

“Yoseob-ah…” I breathe out. Suddenly I felt a difficulty of breathing.

“I’ve been going for dialysis that’s why I can’t see you. I don’t want you to see me in this condition. Don’t worry about me. Worry more about Hyuna and Jae Hee. Arasso?” he said facing me.

“Andwae! I want to take care of you Yoseob! You mean everything to me!” I accidentally shouted.

“Junhyung-ah.. you can’t take care of everyone you know. First you wanted to take care of Hyuna, then Jae Hee, and now me. Who’s going to take care of you huh?”

“I don’t care! I can handle it. Yoseob-ah.. don’t be like this..” I pleaded.

“Jun, can’t you see my sister is taking care of me? So don’t worry. I’m fine..” he said and trying to smile but weakly. I just stared at him.

“Bwoh?” he asked irritatedly that I kept staring at him.

“If you have a kidney transplant, you’ll be good as new right?” I said.

“No Yong Junhyung. No! I know exactly where this is going and I’m not going to let you!” he shouted but weak.

“But you can be healthy again! Yoseob-ah, you know Jae Hee loves you right? What if he found out that you’re sick? He would be very sad right?” I tried to reason out with him.

“Don’t tell him then. I won’t appear in his life anymore. Just tell him I moved or something,” he said.

“Yah Yang Yoseob! How can you be so selfish??”

He scoffed. “I’m selfish? You’re selfish. You always have it your way! You wanted to take care of Hyuna, you got it. You wanted to be part of Hyuna’s life again, you got it. Well here’s news Junhyung! Here’s one thing that you can’t get! I won’t let you help me! I won’t let you give your kidney to me!” He finishes off with coughing and turning away from me.

“Seobbie..” I touched his arm but he shoved it away.

I sighed. “Okay. I won’t help you. Happy now? But you must promise me. If you ever need help, with anything at all, please, I beg of you, tell me. Jebal Yoseob-ah…”

He nodded and then turned to face me. “For now, just pray for my strength Jun-ah..”

I smiled sadly. “Arasso.” I pulled him into a hug and embraced him tightly.

“The both of you scare me sometimes” Yaeshin said. We broke apart and Yaeshin placed the glasses on the coffee table and sat on the couch beside ours.

“You two fight and made up like couples. Even I’m not like that with my boyfriend,” she said. Both of us just laughed.

Updates have been slow this week. Jeongmal mianhe.. I've been sick and writers block is not helping at all.. :/
