“Erm..” I started. I was thinking of ways to respond once she heard my answer. Its going to be awkward. I know it will.

“My last girlfriend was in highschool. First year,” I said calmly. I looked at her, anticipating her reaction.

was slightly ajar, looking at me. “Me?” she said softly.

“Yeah,” I said simply, smiling at her. I looked around, trying to avoid eye contact. I my lips. I know this is going to happen.

“I uh.. I don’t have the time to think about love in college Hyuna. All I want to do is focus on my studies. And I also don’t want to have as much friends like I did in highschool. I don’t want to go through the painful separation we had again. That’s why I only have Yoseob,” I tried to explain myself, avoiding the fact that I waited for her these years.

“You’re really close to him huh..?” she smiled slightly, looking at me.

I chuckled. “Yeah.. I think its better to have one friend that you know won’t leave you than having a bunch of friends but will just leave you when they have other friends,” I said, remembering how Gikwang and Doojoon left our friendship hanging just like that. I don’t hold grudges; I’m just disappointed in them.

Hyuna nodded, knowing exactly what I was talking about.

“Yoseob seemed like a really nice person. Even Jae Hee really like being with him,” she said. Ouch. Relax Junhyung. He’s your bestfriend. There’s no need to feel jealous. Relax..

I just smiled. Hyuna and I coincidentally yawned together and we laughed softly seeing each others’ actions.

“I guess we’re both sleepy already,” I said.

“Yeah. We should sleep now.” I took both our mugs and washed them. Surprisingly, Hyuna didn’t go into the room first. She just waited by the counter until I finished washing. After washing, I switched off the kitchen lights. . I can’t see a thing.

“Hyuna? Do you know your way back to the room?” I asked aimlessly as I can’t see where she was. I’m used to my own apartment so it was easy for me to walk back to the room without even needing light.

“I don’t think so. I can’t see anything Junhyung,” she said. I reached around for her hand, praying that I won’t touch something else that I wasn’t supposed to touch. Luckily I caught her hand but she gasped in shocked and pulled back her hand quickly.

“Don’t worry its my hand Hyuna. I’ll lead you back to the room,” I said.

“Oh I’m sorry. I was shocked by the sudden touch,” she said and took my hand again.

Carefully, I led both of us back to the room and at last we see some light from the bedside table.

“Goodnight Junhyung,” she said and went to sleep. Slowly I lay beside her, looking at her sleeping figure. I really miss being with her. When will it be the time for us to be together again Hyuna?

Morning came and I opened my eyes slowly, feeling the heat from the sunlight into the room. I realized that I was hugging Hyuna lightly from the back, placing my arm on her waist. I quickly retreated back before she could notice. Feeling my movements, she her back and woke up slowly.

I sat up, rubbing my eyes. She sat up also and turned to me. I was about to greet her ‘Goodmorning’ when Jae Hee came running into the room with his happy face on, jumping onto the bed.

“Morning Omma!! Morning Uncle Junhyung!!” he said with a big smile on his face. Hyuna smiled and ruffled his hair.

“Had a good sleep Jae Hee?” I asked him. He nodded excitedly. He’s always excited about almost everything. He makes the whole house more cheerful.

“Omma! Let’s bathe together like we used to with appa!” he said cheerfully. Hyuna’s smiled faded slightly hearing her son’s words.

“You have school right Jae Hee? If omma bathe with you, who’s going to prepare your breakfast and your school things?” Hyuna said. Jae Hee pouted and nodded sadly. But then his face changed suddenly and turned to me.

“Uncle Junhyung! Can you bathe with me?” he asked happily. I chuckled.

“I’d love to Jae Hee. Gaja!” I said, getting up from the bed, carrying him in my arms.

“Junhyung, you don’t have to. Really,” Hyuna said as if apologizing for her son’s request.

“I want to Hyuna. Really,” I said smiling at her and walked to the bathroom.

I filled a big basin with water and placed Jae Hee inside. As I was taking the soap, Jae Hee turned to me. “Uncle Junhyung, aren’t you going to bathe with me?” he said.

“Of course Jae Hee. But I can’t fit in that basin with you, can I?” I smiled at him. He looked into the basin to find space for me. I kneeled beside him and poured the liquid soap inside and swashing my hand inside to mix it with the water. Jae Hee played happily with the foam that it formed. I the shower head and let the water wet my upper body with my Bermudas still on.

“Uncle Junhyung! You have the thing on your stomach like appa!” he commented. I looked down on my stomach and realized he was talking about my abs. I just chuckled at his cute words. I kneeled down and started washing him up properly, soaping his body and shampooing his hair. He laughed happily when I tickled him. As I rinsed the soap off his body, my tattoo caught his attention. He ran his little fingers over my collarbone slowly.

“Uncle Junhyung, did you draw this?” he asked innocently.

“No Jae Hee. Erm.. I told my friend to draw it,” I replied.

“Why?” he asked.

“Erm… Well uh..” How should I answer him? If I say the wrong words, he might want to get a tattoo too. I bet Hyuna don’t wish to hear that coming from her 4-year old son’s mouth.

“I wanted to test my marker,” I said stupidly. Test my marker??

“Why won’t it disappear?” he asked again. I bit my lip.

“Its.. uh.. permanent marker,” I said. I bet there are more questions from him. I wasn’t irritated because this is what normal toddlers do. They are quizzical about everything they see.

Surprisingly he just nodded with a ‘o’ forming on his mouth. “Its nice Uncle Junhyung!”

“Really?” I was surprised that he actually liked it. He nodded and smiled widely.

After bathing and getting dressed, we walked out, smelling the delicious smell of freshly made pancakes and syrup. I saw Hyuna placing the plates on the dining table with her apron on. She just smiled when she saw us walking to the kitchen. I carried Jae Hee on the chair as he waited for Hyuna to put his pancakes on his plate. Hyuna kissed his forehead lovingly and placed his breakfast infront of him. He ate them happily by himself.

“Thank you,” I said as she placed mine also. She smiled sincerely and looked up as my mum walked out of my room.

She clapped her hands together, smiling, seeing us at the table together. I know she was about to say something so I placed my index finger on my lips, telling her that she shouldn’t say anything yet.

She just smiled as she took a seat at the table. Hyuna gave some pancakes to her also and was about to go somewhere when I stopped her.

“Where are you going? Aren’t you eating?” I asked, concerned.

“Ahni. You eat first. I still have to shower,” she chuckled softly. I just smiled and nodded.

As Hyuna went into the room, my mum looked at me.

“Now can I talk?” she asked.

“Yes….”

“You look like a happy family!” she cheered, clapping her hands.

“Omma….” I glanced at Jae Hee who was busy cutting his pancakes. I don’t think he’d like it if he heard it.

“Wae? He likes you. I can see it,” she said softly.

“Aish..” I don’t know what else to reply and started eating. I don’t want Jae Hee to get the impression that I’m trying to replace his father. Its wrong. It just is.

Its been a looonnggg time since i updated this fic. Maybe I'm gonna do a double update. But now I'm forced to sleep. So see you later maybe! :D
