I don't care

Remember, That I Love You so Much

He opened his eyes slowly, the blackness beginning to go away, his vision beginning to see plain, white walls. It took him a moment to remember he was in the hospital still. Onew anxiously scanned his eyes around, leaning up slightly.

“Luna-shi?” Onew called out, sounding like a desperate puppy looking for its mother. “L-Luna…” He realized she was gone… the bathroom door was open, no one inside. How could she leave him? He looked at the clock to notice it was around nine a.m., and she promised to stay with him once he woke up. He scratched at his scalp, wondering why she would have to leave so sudden. Victoria? Her manager? He groaned, plopping back down onto his pillow.

Frustrated, he decided to try and sleep again. He imagined last night, his mind showing images on Luna once she arrived. He remembered exactly the way he felt once he saw her face.

He then remembered the moment he fell, and how afraid he was. The slip caused him to land his rear right on his ankle, which was pretty weak in the first place. The blood was slight, but the pain was overwhelming. Onew remembered hearing a slight pop noise which scared him the most. He honestly thought he was going to break his ankle, and be sent back to Korea.

Then again, ever since Luna kissed Taemin, his mind was pretty grim, so it didn’t surprise him to think such a thing.

Onew sighed as his body shifted, hearing the metal bars holding his sling creak slightly. All he felt now was annoyed. Slightly annoyed. He didn’t even want to sleep anymore. A headache was forming, causing him to groan.

He was so… so pissed off. He was angry with Taemin, Luna, the boys for leaving him last night, he was angry as his own body for causing so much harm. His fists clenched, breathing out.

Why, why would you kiss Luna. Why can’t you just keep your damn hands off of her. Leave her alone. Leave us alone. Go away.

Onew tried to twist his body to the side to get more comfortable, but with that stupid sling holding his leg up, he couldn’t budge. It annoyed him even more.

God, you stupid leg. I should just cut you off and never dance again. I should just go back to Korea and leave the members to this performance already. I’m only a bother now with this sprained ankle.

I’m only a bother.

Onew’s eyes were closed, his own thoughts making his head hurt. He didn’t know why he felt the sudden emotion of anger, but all of this was making him tired again.

Luna, how dare you do this. And you left me now, alone in this hospital.

“Jonghyun, wake up! Roo is being so annoying right now, he keeps whining. Feed him already!” Nagging Key was at him again, poking into his chest. Jonghyun slumped up slightly, pushing away Key’s jabbing paws.

“Yah, yah, okay, okay,” He smacked his lips together. Jonghyun had on a tank top with just his boxers on, looking disheveled. “Kibum, why are you getting me up to early?”

“Because I want to see Onew hyung already. I want to let him out of there.”

Jonghyun mumbled to himself as he shoveled over to get the barking puppy some food. The big bag of Puppy Deluxe crinkled loudly, making Jonghyun squint his eyes shut. “Then let me sleep a few more hours, I can’t function.”

Key rolled his eyes, already dressed. “Then I’ll get Minho or Taemin to go, lazy .”

Jonghyun chuckled as Key stepped out of the room, petting Roo’s soft little body as his puppy munched happily.

Onew didn’t sleep much, but had a great dream. He swore he could smell Luna perfectly, imagining them both finally getting to that kiss again. He blinked his eyes open, his brain settled to a now content feeling. The sleep must have helped his horrible mood this morning. He shifted his body to a surprise.

He was alarmed, feeling weight on the left side of his body. “Oh-“ He noticed Luna asleep at his side, her eyes closed gently. His head turned away toward his mini table, seeing a tray of food set out for him. “So that’s where you went,” he mumbled. “I’m not even hungry for food.” Luna shifted, Onew growing quiet. He waited for a reaction, but was relieved to feel her slump down again in slumber. He couldn’t help but look up and down her body, her rear peaked up as her left leg was bent to wrap around him, avoiding his elevated leg on the sling. He could feel her knee rubbing against his groin, making him groan softly out in pleasure as well as frustration.

In the back of his mind, he felt like she was doing it on purpose, as if she could read his mind. His stupid hormones were jumping around in his head, Onew trying his best to keep his composure. Without thought, his right arm lingered over toward her shirt, pulling at the collar to show her cleavage. His eyes fixated, looking at her skin peaking out, looking soft and supple. He felt like a ert, but shook that thought away. Luna was his, anyway, so why can’t he look? That meant he could touch too, right?

Onew whimpered, biting at his lip with hesitation, but slid his hand around toward her hips, feeling her skin that peaked out. He noticed a slight change in her sleepy expression, a small smile showing. He smirked slightly, curious if she was really asleep or not. His fingertips traced up under her shirt toward her ribs, watching any more change of expression on her face. She still felt limp, the smile now turning into a small laugh.

She was dreaming, he could tell. If only she could say his name like she did their first night. Still intoxicated with lust, he rubbed into her soft skin, massaging her back now. His fingertips were sensitive to the touch, feeling her skin a bit cold. Still, she looked extremely comfortable… he couldn’t believe he was so angry with her earlier.

“You’re mine,” he whispered, smiling. The look on her face as she rested against his body gave him a sense of peace. His stupid ankle began to itch, his body shifting. This sling was starting to get on his nerves.

The lustful feeling beginning to face away, Onew lays in silence, the smirk still placed on Luna’s face. He takes his finger around her ear, fixing her hair to show her beautiful face.

He just takes a moment to look at her, smiling to himself. He only felt happiness now.

Eventually, his mouth reached down toward her forehead, kissing her softly. He smelled her hair, a mixture of fruit and flowers.

You’re mine.

“You excited for the new year coming, Taeminnie?” Key had an arm around his maknae as they rode in SM’s van heading toward the hospital. Manager hyung was driving while Taemin and Key sat together, excited to see their hyung.

“Yeah. I’m ready for a new start.” Taemin smiled cheesy, making Key snort.

“New start from what? All we’ll have this new year is more work.”

“So? I like work.”

Key smiled, “I know you do, Taeminnie, but Key hyung is always tired.”

Taemin had his arms crossed, playfully sticking out his tongue before saying, “Is that why you’re always a grouch?”

The three finally arrived at the Japanese hospital, numerous people running in and out of the parking lot. They stepped out coolly, heading toward the main room’s door. Taemin carefully watched the sidewalks concrete pattern, distracted. He didn’t notice someone running in front of him, knocking him over.

“Omo, Luna! Taemin, you two okay?” Key slumped down to his knees to help the two up gently, hearing various groans and laughs.

“Taemin, I’m sorry… I was in a hurry.” Luna got onto her knees and rubbed at her elbows, her hands red from the sudden fall.

Taemin didn’t seem too phased by the fall. He simply stood up and brushed his knees. “Hurry?” Is all he responded with.

“I… told my members I’d be there soon. I gotta go, Onew is doing well, by the way.” She stepped a few feet away before Taemin reached out to grab onto her wrist.

“Wait, are you okay? You’re acting weird, Luna.”

Key stood with manager hyung, their eyes both scanning back and forth at the two talking.

“Taemin, I have to go, okay? Ann-” She began to raise her arm with a wave, revealing a few Japanese yen in her hand, crinkled together in her palm. She stopped with a startle by her own action, switching her hands swiftly to wave with the other.

Taemin raised an eyebrow and grabbed at her hand holding the money. “What’s this for?” He sounded like a nosey kid; he didn’t care if he was in her business. Luna slapped his hand away softly and turned her body slightly to Key and SHINee’s manager. She bowed silently before apologizing for the interruption. Her eyes scanned back over to Taemin, who looked slightly desperate. “Luna, tell me why you’re acting so weird, I mean, do you not want to see us or something?”

She grunted, her legs anxious to move. “No! Not at all. It’s just that I’m in a hurry… okay?” Luna raised her eyebrows

“To buy something?” Key jumped in, alarming both of them. She shook it off and nodded, trying to play it cool.

They had no idea.

She stepped away now freely, the three politely giving their goodbyes. She turned her body away, her face giving off a relieved look. She sighed quietly and look at the money in her hand. It was crumbled from the fall, but she didn’t care.

“600 yen in my hand. Hopefully that’s enough…?”

“Hyung! You’re finally out of your sling!” Taemin yelled out in joy the moment he saw Onew, his skinny arms extended out to express it. Onew kept a gentle smile on his face, beginning to lean up as his manager slipped his body from the bed to a full stand. He seemed a bit wobbly, but the doctors told him to only wear some bandage around his ankle, restricting him from any extreme movements.

Key patted his hyung’s cheek, a genuine smile on his face. He didn’t realize how worried he had been until now. Taemin jumped in to wrap one of Onew’s arms over his shoulder, guiding him out of the door.

“Let’s get you to the hotel already-“

“Woah, woah, wait, you two.” Manager hyung had a hand out, the two boys stopping at their tracks. “Onew, are you sure you’re okay? Let’s talk about this performance.”

Onew didn’t hesitate to respond, “Yes, manager hyung. I promise. I promise I’ll be fine. If anything else goes wrong, I’ll… take a break or something. But I promise nothing will go wrong. Just please let me-“

“Are you sure?”

“Yes.”

Their manager let out a sigh. “You better be okay, Onew… so much things have happened this year, it’s been so stressful.” Key walked up to manager hyung, patting at his back. “And well, we can’t have anything else go wrong. We can’t.”

Onew nodded, feeling a great sense of sincerity. He looked over to Taemin who was still helping him stand, and smiled.

Why can’t I just stay mad at you?

Taemin looked down awkwardly for a moment, the group beginning to walk silently to the van, their manager holding Onew’s bag of his possessions.

Luna stepped inside a local drugstore, her heart beating a bit faster now. She couldn’t help but feel extremely anxious about this: the whole situation, really. She told herself to keep calm in her head.

He will be there for me,” she told herself. “Even if I’m not…” Her eyes scanned the isles, looking for any sort of words in Korean. Her legs moved toward the end of the store where she noticed numerous medication boxes in one section. Her steps quickened, a scatter of people in the isle looking at boxes of products. She refused to give any eye contact, embarrassed. Embarrassed of their ignorance, really. Because they just don’t know what she’s going through. Those people, probably having normal, ordinary lives with a regular family, probably didn’t have to deal with things like this.

They had no idea.

Luna self-consciously smoothed down her hair, deciding on whether to blend with the crowd and look at some eye drops for a while, or to just grab it and get it over with. Her expression softened, trying to look bored or tired, instead of anxious and afraid. A woman standing next to her gave a quick glance, but returned to examining an allergy medicine box. Luna gave a polite smile and grabbed an allergy medicine box as well. She wasn’t even reading the text, but looking at the box.

“Should I take it in the bathroom here?” She conversed with herself in her head. “Or should I take it at the hotel…? Should I wait until I’m home?”

She grumbled, putting the box back onto its shelf. Not noticing the woman she stepped past her, and went over to the pregnancy section.

“I don’t care,” she mumbled, “I don’t care if anyone sees.” Her shoulders slouched down, examining them like a beautiful painting. She had a… strange feeling when she realized what she was doing.

Baeho.

She grabbed onto a box, which was around 500 yen. Ironically, 2NE1’s I Don’t Care was playing in the drug store.

I don’t care, I’ll stop caring about what you’re doing wherever you are

From now on I really don’t care, I’ll get out of the way

She grumbled again, walking down the isle again, avoiding anyone in her way. “Just buy it,” she demanded in her head. “I don’t care.” She felt butterflies in her stomach once she reached the cashier, who locked eyes with her. She looked away, sliding the box onto the counter. She didn’t bother to wait for any response, handing over her money.

“Just do it when you get to the hotel…” She repeated that numerous times, enough to give her a migraine once she stepped out the store.

She stopped suddenly.

Did she really just buy a pregnancy test at age eighteen? This is not the life she imagined to have in her past… she had that strange feeling again. A feeling like reality was tearing at her heart, making her feel anxious, afraid, and depressed. Really, she didn’t want to deal with this anymore… but she had to move on, and just take the test.

Baeho.

Luna’s fantasy was flashing through her mind as she stepped onto the sidewalk, walking slowly: Onew’s tired body wrapped around her shoulders as their baby sleeps in Luna’s arms. His hair is messy from his constant movement as he sleeps, but it makes the couple smile. His fingers are getting much longer than they were a few weeks ago, and he’s at a healthy weight. His eyes are very curved like Onew’s, and his lips are curved slightly in a smile that reminds Luna of her own umma. Baeho has the hiccups, which are more like high-pitched pops, his body bopping each time one hits him. The two of them can hear him breathe slowly, a comfortable state. Everything is just so comfortable-

“Umma. I should call Umma afterwards…” Luna mumbled to herself, lifting the bag to take a good look at it, still absorbing her courageous action. Her voice was shaky from the flooded feelings, Luna was unsure how to describe it. Just… a strange feeling.

“So, hyung, we decided: We should have a masquerade party after our New Years performance!” Taemin clapped his hands together once they made it to the hotel.

“A masquerade? Like our Juliette video? That sounds fun…” Onew nodded in approval, his hand holding his cellphone.

MSG: Tell me how it goes, please.
