The morning after the concert, as planned, Hyukjae and Donghae left to go to the latter’s family’s resort. Both were sleeping in the car, leaning next to each other. They were very sleepy because they stayed awake until the sunrise, making sure they made the most out of their time together. Donghae didn’t even come home to his condo, and instead slept for the past two nights in Hyukjae’s hotel room. 

Four hours later, they arrived at the resort. Hyukjae helped Donghae unload the humongous amount of gifts he brought, as usual. Hyukjae even joked that Donghae could very well be Santa Claus judging from how many gifts he’s prepared. They placed it all inside the family’s villa, with Donghae saying that he will arrange it later. Then they went inside Donghae’s bedroom to bring his luggage there. It really wasn’t much because Donghae still has clothes there anyway. But Hyukjae figured that Donghae wanted to spend some more private time with him. 

It was Hyukjae’s first time entering Donghae’s bedroom here so he looked around. It was just a small bedroom, but filled with more childhood stuff. There were old drawings and photo albums and Hyukjae couldn’t help but coo at how cute Donghae was. He was in the middle of his cute aggression, smothering a giggling Donghae with face kisses, when he noticed Donghae’s mother looking at them. They stupidly left the door open and Donghae’s bedroom can be seen from the small kitchen. He gently let go of Donghae and stood up, then bowed to greet respectfully. She gave an expressionless small nod and then walked away. 

Hyukjae looked back at Donghae and saw a pained expression on his face. And of course Hyukjae would not let that expression stay in Donghae’s face. He closed the door and then walked back to the bed.

“Hae.”

“Hmm?”

“Please don’t be sad. You know I hate it when you’re sad.”

Donghae bit his lips for a moment as if thinking, and then said, “Then I challenge you to make me laugh.”

Hyukjae smirked. “You’re challenging me?”

“Yes,” Donghae said playfully. They both know Hyukjae can make Donghae smile and laugh easily. And besides, Hyukjae has made it his life mission to make Donghae happy.

Hyukjae can’t think of any joke or quip at the moment, so he resorted to the other thing that he knows would surely work.

He sat close to Donghae and hugged him. Donghae hugged him back and didn’t see the smirk that Hyukjae was sporting.

“Hyuk, you know I love you but this is cheating. If you’re soft and sweet like this, of course I would give in and laugh even if you tell a corny joke.”

Hyukjae snorted and then slid his hands down Donghae’s waist, and then started to tickle Donghae mercilessly. His boyfriend was extremely ticklish and Hyukjae loves to do it to him. Donghae was shrieking with laughter and after just a few seconds was already breathless because of his continuous laughter and trying to get away from Hyukjae. 

With his eyes wet from laughing too much, Donghae screamed, “Stop! Hahahaha! Stop tickling me Hyukkie stoppp!! Hyuk..jae!!! Hahahaha! Have mercy okay okay you win! Ahhhh babe!!! Hahahaha I yield! Stoppp please stop!”

Hyukjae conceded, his eyes bright with laughter. Watching Donghae writhe and laugh truly brings happiness to his heart that he was smiling so wide and tearing up as well. He stopped tickling Donghae and instead engulfed him in his embrace as Donghae calmed down, both of them now cuddling in bed. 

When their breaths evened, Donghae suddenly punched him. 

“Ow! Baby that punch hurts!”

“You deserve it!” Donghae sulk-shouted.

“Aww, Hae are you mad? You challenged me to make you laugh.”

“I know, but-!”

“But?”

Donghae opened his mouth but words didn’t come out. Hyukjae laughed, knowing Donghae can’t think of anything to say.

“Hmf.” Donghae pouted.

“Aw baby, don’t do that. You know I can never resist your pout.”

Donghae crossed his arms to his chest and tried to push Hyukjae away, but of course Hyukjae even tightened his hug.

“I’m sorry. Was it too much? Did I hurt you?”

Donghae looked up at him, glaring. But the angry expression just looked so cute and Hyukjae couldn’t help but to coo again. “My baby~”

“I’m not a baby!”

“But you are my baby, yes?”

Donghae looked away. “Yes.”

Hyukjae grinned. It’s not often that he wins against Donghae. Not that he actually tries to. He’s more than satisfied with letting Donghae win all the time, because Donghae’s victorious happy smile makes Hyukjae feel like he’s won the world. 

And yes, he is my world. And he’s mine.

With a foolish smile, he leaned down to give Donghae a kiss on the cheek. Donghae was still looking away though, so Hyukjae tried again. And then on the third time, Donghae suddenly turned his head so Hyukjae’s lips landed on his. They both smiled in the kiss, and let it linger.
