The day went by amazingly. And frankly, it felt like a date. A friendly date. They went to a cafe and ate (with Hyukjae watching his diet and Donghae telling him he looks good either way), then just stayed there for a few hours talking about anything and everything. 

They talked a bit about yesterday too. Donghae told Hyukjae that he and Ryeowook tearfully apologized to each other when he arrived home last night. But Hyukjae refrained from asking about anything that was revealed yesterday because he's worried he may upset the younger one. He decided he will just wait for Donghae to willingly share about those things, this time on his own terms.

All in all it was a relaxing day and they wrapped it up by inviting Ryeowook and Kyuhyun to eat dinner with them in a restaurant Donghae wanted to try. Ryeowook and Kyuhyun were shy again at first, but eventually became comfortable with each other as the dinner went on.

“You really chose a good place, Hae. The food is really good,” Ryeowook said. 

Kyuhyun nodded. “Yeah, it makes it hard to control eating. I like everything, except maybe this braised tofu, I think it could have tasted better.”

“Ah yes, Kyuhyun’s braised tofu is really great, and his other dishes as well. You guys should come over to our dorm sometime soon and then Kyu can cook for us,” Hyukjae tells Donghae and Ryeowook.

“That would be great! But Ryeowook already knows some of my recipes though.” Kyuhyun said absentmindedly as he chewed on his food.

Silence fell upon the four of them. Hyukjae and Donghae both looked like deers caught in headlights. Kyuhyun slipped up. He likes to share his recipes on his Bubble, but of course he isn’t supposed to know that Ryeowook is subscribed to him, let alone a fan of him.

“What do you mean?” Ryeowook asked with one eyebrow raised.

“A-ah because some of Kyu’s recipes are just copied from Chef Baek Jong Won. And Donghae told us you watch his shows all the time,” Hyukjae hurriedly answered. It’s true that Donghae once mentioned to Hyukjae that his roommate is fond of the chef’s show. He’s thankful that he pays attention to everything Donghae says, because random information like this comes in handy sometimes.

“Y-yeah, I mentioned to them that my roommate loves to watch that show during one of the times I was at their dorm while Kyuhyun was watching it too,” Donghae supplied.

Ryeowook seemed to believe them. “Oh, yeah I love that show. I even download some episodes when I want to try cooking that dish as well.”

Kyuhyun just nodded and continued eating but he sent quick grateful glances to Hyukjae and Donghae. 

“Maybe you should try cooking together!” Hyukjae suggested, relieved that they were able to cover Kyuhyun’s slip up.

“Ohhh, I’d like that,” Ryeowook said with a smile and excited eyes.

And it was funny how Kyuhyun stupidly smiled back at that, eagerly nodding his head in agreement.

Seems like my friend is on his way to being whipped as well.

“Oh but Kyu, prepare to be amazed. Wookie here is a great cook. He’s been cooking since we were in college. It was thanks to him that I was able to taste and learn most Korean dishes,” Donghae said.

“Your mom doesn’t cook?” Kyuhyun asked. 

Both Ryeowook and Hyukjae turned down their eyes at that question.

“Ah, she does. But for Korean dishes, only ceremonial food,” Donghae said with a tight smile.

“So Kyuhyun, what should we cook for these two?” Ryeowook asked before Kyuhyun could remark on Donghae’s answer.

Kyuhyun was successfully distracted and they continued their dinner like that, with the four of them enjoying the food and each other’s company.

“Ah, I’m so full. That’s so good,” Donghae said with a contented smile as they finished dinner.

“Yeah, we shouldn’t have eaten a lot though, Hyuk. Comeback is near,” Kyuhyun said.

Hyukjae grunted in agreement. “Yeah, I’d need to burn these off. Maybe I should go jogging tonight.”

“Great idea. I think I should go too,” Kyuhyun said.

“I jog at night too. You guys want to join me?” Ryeowook offered.

“Sure!” Kyuhyun immediately agreed. 

Hyukjae looked at Donghae pointedly.
