Hyukjae ended up at the rooftop of the building and sat down as he arranged his thoughts and feelings. To another person, he might look like he’s zoning out, looking at nothing in particular.

He knows he shouldn’t feel special. Apparently, Donghae’s clinginess has no bounds, adorably seeking company to make his day better. Definitely a trait of an extrovert. Even though he knows anyone else would make Donghae feel the same, and that it’s because they already have a prior commitment to meet each other today that the events have aligned like this, he still can’t help but feel giddy that being with him would make Donghae feel better.

Basking in the joy he’s feeling, he looked around and realized the rooftop is void of anyone else. It’s a nice place, with several small tables. He looked up at the sky; the sun is yet to set but already low enough to not be too hot, and it doesn’t look like it’s going to rain either. Deciding it would be a good place to both work and hang out with Donghae (yes he already considers the “rap lyrics meeting” not entirely work-related), he hurriedly sent a message to the younger.

Hyukjae:

I’m here at the company rooftop

Donghae:

Oh, I didn’t think of that

Okay, I’ll be there

It might take me more than 30 minutes

Donghae arrived almost an hour later, as Hyukjae was engrossed in the series he was watching.

“Hyukjae!”

Hyukjae looked up and smiled at the newcomer. “Hey. You’re done with work?”

“Not yet actually. But the ones I have left can be done while I’m with you anyway,” Donghae said as he plopped down on the seat in front of Hyukjae.

“Today was very hard then?”

“It’s a disaster. And I was late so I had to make up for a lot of things.”

“Were you late because we talked on the phone till 2am?”
