Kai

"Yeah, that was kind of awesome," Kai admits, sitting on a bench in the school's courtyard. Kai had been dragged over to Sehun's house and forced to go through a marathon of Pirates of the Caribbean movies.

“I know! I TOLD you! I so knew you’d be a Pirates of the Caribbean fan,” Sehun says happily, practically falling against the punk as he joins him on the bench. He loops arms with him and grins. “They're coming out with a new movie soon.”

"Sweet, we'll go see it in the theaters," Kai decides for the both of them. He snaps open his soda can and downs it.  

Sehun smiles. "Really? Just us?"

"Sure, why not?" Kai shrugs as he leans back and watches a couple of students walk by, staring at the two of him. They whisper to each other as if they'd never seen two guys hang out before. He figured it was only because it was weird that Kai even went to school; even though he's been going for months now. Were people still scared of him? What a bunch of .

"You know that's, like, a date. Right?" Sehun asks, seeming shy. He looks down at his drink and blushes when Kai gives him a smirk.

"What? You too good for one?"

"No...I just-" Sehun looks up and narrows his eyes as three men approach them. "Oh god," he mumbles.

"Hey loser," They boys greet but Kai could quickly tell it wasn't a pleasant one. He didn't like the way they looked at Sehun. "Do you have our money yet?”

“And why'd he give you any money?" Kai asks, crossing his arms.

They look down at the punk and narrows his eyes. "It's none of your ing business, delinquent!"

"Never heard that one before," Kai scoffs and their 'leader' steps forward, trying to be intimidating.

"Mind your own business, head!”

Kai stands up straight and laughs dryly. He crosses his arms. "You might wanna get the hell outta here before someone gets hurt."

"Yeah," He says, eyeing Kai. "Like you."

"Funny. I was talking about YOU," Kai sniffs. "Any of you with Sehun one more time and I beat your god damn asses.”

The three men laugh but the punk’s expression is serious. "What? You Sehun's little bodyguard now? What be paying you?" The man in the middle sneers over at Sehun. "Or is he paying you by your ?”

“Sehun? ?” One of them scoffs. “This little is such a little prude, he’d have to ask his mama for permission-”

Kai cuts him off by drawing his arm back and landing a hard punch to the man’s face. It causes him to stumble back and grunts as he falls. They all stare at him in shock, including Sehun; who covers his mouth and gasp. The punk points a finger at them, glowering darkly. “ I see any of you around Sehun, I’ll beat your damn asses.” H stares at the men for what feels like an eternity, not once breaking eye contact. They all finally slowly back up.

"Whatever, let's go, guys." One shakes his head and heads off, followed by his two other friends.

Kai rolls his eyes and sits back down. “Anyway, where were we?” He looks at Sehun, smiling at his scared expression. “Date night?”

Sehun looks down at his hands and sighs. "I'm sorry, Jongin. You shouldn't have to stand up for me."

"Those guys are idiots. Don't let them get to you," Kai yawns and stands up, tossing his soda in the trash. He offers his hand to Sehun, grinning when he takes it. Kai yanks him up and wraps an arm around his shoulder, leading him to their next class. “Let’s ditch school tomorrow and go to the theater, I’ll pay.”

Sehun smiles sheepishly, glancing around. It falters when he locks eyes with Krystal, who stares at them from beside her friends. He clears his throat and looks away. “Okay.”

Kai yawns and rubs his face, grumbling at himself. He knew he should have ditched with Sehun when he had the chance. But, no, he has to care about some stupid called attendance. He sighs as he packs his back, glancing up when the teacher approaches him. “What up, teach?”

The teacher crosses her arm and shakes her head, laughing. “That’s not very formal, Jongin.”

Kai shrugs his shoulders casually. "I figure we're past formalities," He jokes. "We bonded over all my troublemaking."

"Indeed," She sighs. "I just wanted to say that I'm really impressed with you.”

"Aw come on, you say that and I don't wanna show up anymore."

She shakes her head again. "You know you're passing this class, right?"

Kai shallows and nods slowly. "Yeah."

"I should thank Sehun," The teacher says with a smile.

Kai smiles as well and looks out the window. Sehun had agreed to take some equipment back to the GYM for Chanyeol, Baekhyun’s boyfriend. “Yeah, me...too,” He suddenly stops when he notices Sehun enter the locker rooms, followed by those three men from earlier. He curses and grabs his bag, quickly hauling it over his shoulder. “Catch you later,” He mutters before darting from the classroom and down the hall. He feels anxious as he runs, his lungs suddenly wantings to kill him. His long legs feel weak after running down at least three flights of stairs but that doesn’t falter him as he makes his way toward the PE building. He pushes the doors open hard and looks around. He kicks his way through a few more doors, finally getting to the one that leads to the locker room. Rage boils in his blood when he hears someone cry out every time a loud thump echoes through the building.

Kai drops his bag before he slams through the doors, grabbing a hockey stick on his way over. He doesn't hesitate to swing the stick against one of the boy's back before he hurling around and snapping his weapon in half as it connects with another man's neck and knee. Cursing, Kai tosses the two pieces to the side. Before the first boy can recover his composure, the punk grabs the second by his hair and pulls down, smashing the guy's face into his knee. Tossing him back, he reaches for the last and brings his fist against his cheek. The guy spins around and stumbles, catching himself on the water fountain. He’s grabbed again and forced to stand up before being slammed face-first into a metal locker.

Kai takes a step back and spits on them as they writhe around in pain. As he makes his way to Sehun, he gives another one of them a kick in the gut. Kneeling down, he touches Sehun’s cheek and breathes heavily, still angry. “Are you alright?”

Sehun groans as he slowly sits up from his fetal position. He wipes the tears from his eyes and sniffs, looking around at all three of the unconscious men. He shakes as he looks into Kai’s eyes. "Jongin..." He chokes a sob.

Kai shakes his head as he helps Sehun stand, trying to be as gentle as possible. "Where's it hurt?"

"Everywhere," Sehun sighs. "I'm sorry."

Kai lifts up Sehun's shirt, anger once again feeling him. He stares at the boy's back, riddled with bruises. "You motherer!" Kai turns and gives the leader a few more harsh kicks to the stomach. When he hears a groan to show he’s still awake, the punk grabs his head and slams it on the floor; rendering him unconscious again.

“Jongin, please-”

"How long have they been bullying you?!" Kai shouts. "Huh?!"

Sehun bites his lip and looks to the floor. "I..."

"How long?"

"Since even before I came back from the hospital last summer."

"These heads have been beating you for that long?!" Kai asks. He narrows his eyes and goes to Sehun's back, running his fingers over three whip marks scars on his back. "These?"

"Kai, that was before-"

"Stand back, I'm going to kill these ing bastards!"

Sehun grabs Kai’s hand tightly and shakes his head. "J-Jongin, Please…”

Kai's expression softens at the sight of the boy’s tears. He sighs as he tries to calm himself down. “From now on, you tell me when these guys mess with you.”

"But-"

"No, Sehun," Kai cuts him off. "You WILL tell me; I'm not gonna stand for this ing !"

Sehun stares at him for a moment before swallowing hard and slowly nodding his head. "A-Alright."

Kai smiles tightly and wraps an arm around Sehun's waist, letting him lean his weight into the punk as they walk. "Taemin's gonna kill me."

"Why?"

The punk casually lands another hard kick one of the students as they walk out. "For not killing them.”
