Kai

Kai looks at the man, Tao, in the doorway and anger fills up inside him. He waits for Sehun to run and jump to him, tears of joy filling his eyes as they kiss. But he doesn’t. He stands there, completely immobile and frozen. Scared.

"Sehuna."

"Tao, what are you-" Sehun begins but stops when another man walks in as well and stands beside Tao. This man is a good two inches above Tao's six foot one. All of his features are straight, pointed, and so serious, his face would probably crack if he smiled. His light golden hair perfectly styled, fitting his, what Kai likes to call, kiss my I'm better than you fashion. He gives off a very princely, regal vibe. "Who...is this?" Sehun asks and from the way his voice cracks, he probably already guessed.

"Sehuna, I um..." Tao looks at the man and grabs his hand, leading him towards Sehun. Kai took a step closer to Sehun, unconsciously wanting to protect him. Sehun seems hesitant and doesn’t meet him halfway; he stands still in his place.

Baekhyun glows darkly at Tao, seeming protective.”I’d say it’s nice to see you again, Tao, but it’s not!” He shouts. “ you first of all! Do you know where you put him?!" Baekhyun snaps, taking a step closer. "Huh? Do you?!” Tao furrows his brows, seeming speechless. “The ing hospital! You put him in the hospital after he tried to KILL himself! You heartbreaking piece of !” Kai smirks. The kid has quite the temper. Not only that, but he took the words right out of Kai’s mouth.

Sehun shakes his head and grabs onto his friend’s hand. "Baekhyun, don't."

"But, Sehun-"

"Please."

All of them look back at Chanyeol, who enters in behind them. Kai only remembers their name based on their appearances. Sehun talked about them a few times. This one has a goofy look, big ears, and red hair.

"What's going on?" Chanyeol asks in confusion. His expression goes dark when he sees Tao, just as Baekhyun's is. “What the hell is HE doing here?!” He snaps. 

“I'm wondering the same thing!” Baekhyun spits.

Sehun smiles weakly. "Baekhyun, can you...go with Chanyeol?"

"Babe, what is-" Chanyeol begins to ask but Baekhyun sighs and shakes his head. He walks past Tao, harshly pushing him with his shoulder. He wraps an arm around Chanyeol's waist.

"I swear to ing god, you better not be here to hurt sehun again!" Chanyeol speaks up.

"Come on," He glares over at Tao and his ‘friend’. “I’m watching you, Zitao. I’m ing serious.” With another pointed look, Baekhyun drags his boyfriend out of the classroom and slams the door shut behind them; causing Sehun to flinch.

"Sehun, If I knew I would have visited b-but…”

"You were in China," Sehun says softly and he nods. "W-with...with this man."

Tao bites his lip. "This is Wu Yi Fan, he's...he's-"

"Your boyfriend," Sehun finishes, his voice full of hurt.

"Yeah, but I call him Kris," Tao says with a sad smile. "I'm visiting for a few weeks and I just wanted to...introduce you."

"You're not...back?" Sehun takes a deep breath when Tao shakes his head. "I see..."

Tao walks forward and grabs Sehun's shoulders. It makes him flinch and seem to suddenly stiffen. "Have you met someone, Sehun?" He asks. "Junmyeon says you've been very happy lately."

Sehun looks down and seems to struggle. He closes his eyes tight and looks like he just wants to run and disappear. Kai watches him carefully and notices just how shaken he is. He lets out a sigh and doesn’t give himself the chance to talk himself out of helping. He takes a deep breath before pushing Tao's arms off and wrapping an arm around Sehun's shoulders. "Yeah, he has." Sehun looks up at Kai and stares at him in surprise.

Tao frown, glancing between the two. “Really?”

Kai shrugs. "You got a problem with that?"

Tao shakes his head and steps back beside Kris. "Come on," He says as he grabs Kris’ hand and motions for the door. "Let's all get some lunch- it’ll pay."

"So...how did you two meet?" Tao asks, sticking a fork into his food.  He stares intently at Kai as if challenging him. This guy is really starting to piss him off.

"Ballet," Kai lies. "I saw him practicing and um..." He chuckles. "It really was terrible."

"I, for one, thought Sehun was a wonderful dancer," Tao comments as if trying to one-up him.

"Yeah, from someone who knows about dancing, sure."

"And how do you know I don't dance?"

Kai leans back, setting his arm on the booth behind Sehun. "Sehun told me."

Tao grins. "So he talks about me."

"Oh yeah," Kai chuckles. "About how you took his ing heart and tore it apart-"

"Stop it!" Sehun interrupts with a shout, slamming his hand down. "Stop it, both of you!."

Kai huffs and looks out the window. But he can still feel Tao’s eyes on him. "What's his favorite color?”

"What?"

Tao shrugs. "Tell me his favorite color."

"Oh come on, that's easy- it's white!" Anyone who knows Sehun or goes into his room would know that. "That all you got?"

"His favorite food?"

"Meat and sushi, easy."

"Favorite numbers?"

"3, 5, 7," He replies. Sehun talks a lot. A lot more than Kai honestly cares for.

"Hobbies?"

"Listening to music, photography, dancing- come on, are you serious?!" Kai glances at Sehun, noticing his confused look. He scoffs and shrugs. "Whatever, it's easy."

Tao huffs and picks at his food. "Everything must be easy for you."

Kai looks at Tao, giving him a challenging smirk. "It is."

"Bit full of yourself” Tao mutters.

Kris sighs and leans back, shaking his head. "Tao, you need to stop this." He whispers and Tao goes quiet. "You're being a child. Come on, we talked about this at the airport."

Tao nods slowly, seeming apologetic towards his boyfriend. "You're right...I'm sorry."

Kai finally focuses on his food, resting his right hand on his knee as he does so. He jumps a little when Sehun grabs it from under the table and holds it. He blushes and looks down at him, noticing his very solemn expression. Sehun slips his fingers between Kai's, squeezing hard. Kai watches him for a moment before sighing and letting him be. He lets Sehun hold his hand,  assuming it's what's helping him feel comfortable. But something inside Kai enjoys it. He feels his stomach flutter and his cheeks flush. He isn't quite sure what it is but he feels relaxed.

Kai focuses on Sehun's features, finding his weird, boyish face kind of cute. Everything about Sehun was cute, actually. His fragile figure, appearance. The way he talks and walks; how smart he is. He suddenly frowns.

What the am I saying? I can't be serious? Cute? Sehun?

Sehun looks up at Kai and catches his gaze. He smiles, seeming thankful. Kai finds himself smiling as well. He thinks that maybe Sehun isn’t so bad after all. He looks good with his short, brown hair and a pink, sweater over a button up top. He never thought he'd ever say a shirt like that is attractive.

"Sehun, do you still do photography?"

Sehun looks over at Tao, as does Kai. "Yeah, sort of."

Tao smiles. "What do you take pictures of now?"

Kai stabs at his food with his fork. "He's trying to get me to model but I hate cameras."

"Really?" Tao asks. "How come?"

Kai shrugs. "Never been a huge camera-guy."

"But you're really handsome!" Sehun points out. "You should let me."

Kai looks at Sehun, giving him a pointed look. "How about no?"

"You won't even pose for your boyfriend?" Tao smirks.

Kai glowers at Tao. "I don’t like cameras- we’re not all thirsty for attention, TAO."

Sehun’s ex-lover returns the glower but Kris speaks up now. "Why not? You're an okay looking guy."

"He's more than okay looking!" Sehun blurts out. The punk groans and rubs his own face in embarrassment.

"I think you'd make an excellent model, Kai," Kris finally speaks up.

Tao looks at him and gasps as if he were just insulted. "Kris!"

Kris shrugs. "He has a model's face, I think."

"Thanks?" Kai feels rather intimated by Kris. He doesn’t know why but he has a scary presence about him.

"Try it once- let Sehun take a picture of you and see how you like it," Kris suggests. "If you don't like it, you can just stop."

Sehun gasps and smiles widely. "Yeah!"

"Noo," Kai groans and Sehun grins happily, grabbing the punk’s arm and tugging.

"Come on, Jongin, please?"

Letting out a sigh, he looks down at Sehun with a glare. He doesn't regret helping Sehun, because honestly, he hates Tao’s guts. He hates the idea that anyone would ever hurt someone like this damn nerd; he’s a bit of a dork but there’s something endearing about it. "Fine." Sehun leans his head on Kai’s shoulder and laughs. Kai looks away and blushes. His heart flutters and he doesn’t like it. "Whatever."
