The Halloween festivities of Millennium High was probably the most looked forward to event of the entire academic year, not only was it the night in which the twelve protector wolves would be able to go home, it also marked the birth of the supernatural race.

As Baekhyun's history teacher had explained during one of their classes with him, supernatural beings were created by witches who had stumbled upon an energy source that they believed would threaten them and their world at the time. It was only recently revealed that the energy source that was said to have the ability to destroy Earth, had been the twelve of them. And the witches who were credited to have created the supernatural race were no other than Cordelia, Katherine and Jessica, the very witches who had conjured up the curse that forced Baekhyun and his soulmate to be reborn whenever himself or Chanyeol confessed their love for one another. Obviously the reveal came as quite a surprise to their History teacher who originally had a theory as to what could have happened by that crater all those years ago.

To cater to his excitement, students and faculty alike decided to allow him free range into discussing his initial thoughts providing him with a table by the punch bowl which allowed him to sit and describe his tale to any curious student. Even with the real tale having been exposed, many were surprised to see a small crowd had formed around the history teacher's table eager to hear his original thoughts involving their creation. He was more than happy to share the tale as many times as he deemed necessary.

Minseok and Suho seemed to share an interest in his initial tale, the two of them having sat themselves down near the punch bowl to hear him speak. By their expressions alone, Baekhyun was able to determine that the history teacher's tale was one filled with magic and adventure, no doubt a made-up story to cater to the wandering traveler's ear. And yet, despite how crazy it may have sounded, the teacher was still capable of keeping his students interested in his initial thoughts, many of them remaining in their position as the story started again for new curious members.

As the afternoon began to fade away and the true darkness of the night drifted through the elevated windows, Baekhyun found himself buzzing in excitement. Not only would he be enjoying himself for the first time ever on Halloween, he was also looking forward to what was yet to come. Of course the meteor shower was his first expectant of the night, having been waiting for this moment since he was first cursed, but the most important thing Baekhyun was looking forward to stemmed in the heart of his soulmate. He was going to ask his soulmate to dance with him.

The two of them had danced many times before, plenty of times when they were children, many times after they were crowned rulers of EXO Planet and various times throughout their previous lifetimes spent on Earth. Yet the most important -or at least the most important to Baekhyun- was their final dance together on Earth. It would help mark the end of their time on the blue planet and the start of their next chapter back on EXO Planet. He thought it would be a beautiful gesture, one that Chanyeol himself would be pining over. Not only would it be a romantic moment, but hopefully it would act as a precious memory for them as well.

Now if only he could find the Alpha.

Once their promise had been made, Chanyeol had excused himself from the party with the excuse that he needed to speak with his pack. The six of them had left together after that, many of the younger boys looking slightly dejected that they were being pulled from their soulmates just as the music coming over the speakers was getting low. It had been fifteen minutes, and not one of them had come back from wherever this mysterious meeting spot was.

Thankfully Baekhyun wasn't the only one who had grown suspicious of his soulmate's sudden disappearance, Kyungsoo and Luhan seemed to be thinking the same thing as they crossed the dancefloor in their quest of getting to their friend.

"What the hell is happening?" Kyungsoo hissed through a fake smile on his lips, his eyes continued to glance around the room in hopes that no one would be able to tell just how frustrated he was. It was a flawed plan from the beginning because for some unknown reason his magic wielding friend seemed to forget just how good a vampire's ear was at catching venom filled words from a mile away. Bakehyun did not want to be the one to inform him of his mistakes so he simply disregarded his earlier thoughts and allowed himself to wonder where his overgrown Alpha of a soulmate had rushed off to.

"Honestly I'm not that worried," Luhan explained, pausing to take a sip from his punch filled cup. "As long as those idiot Alphas don't kill somebody I think we're fine."

"I mean he's right you know.." Tao announced his presence with a fake cough, appearing from behind their backs. The small group watched as he made his way beside Kyungsoo, his eyes locked on the crowd of people still in the gymnasium. "I don't have a sense of impending doom for the first time in a while, I don't think we should be worried about anything."

"I suppose you're right," Baekhyun agreed, dipping his head in agreement. Though his cheered up matter quickly crumbled around him when he heard the next song strum through the speakers. "Oh come on!" he groaned, tossing his head back to curse at the heavens. "I love this song and he's not even here to dance it with me?!"

"Nope." Luhan answered from the ceiling. "Doesn't look like it." Kyungsoo continued through his gritted teeth. "Apparently not." Tao finished, tossing the rest of the cup's content down his throat.

Baekhyun released a huff of defeat, his arms coming to cross against his chest. The four of them remained like that for a few minutes, simply glaring at the happy couples spinning each other around on the dancefloor. Baekhyun even found himself glaring at Suho and Minseok who both seemed to be having the time of their lives by their history teacher, no worrisome thoughts for their mates clouding their subconscious. That must be nice.

"You know what!?" Baekhyun shouted, his voice barely making it over the music playing speakers. "I am not going to sit around and wait for my soulmate to come back! I am going to dance to this song by myself, now who is with me!"

It wasn't much of a rally speech as it was a motivational one, his three friends watched him as he blinked back at them expecting something from them they weren't entirely sure of. Despite not having a clue as to what he had stated, the trio slowly began bobbing their heads in agreement though none of them knew what they were agreeing to. They only seemed to figure it out when Baekhyun grabbed hold of Tao and Kyungsoo's hands and began leading them onto the dancefloor, Luhan being forced to follow them despite his obvious resistance. He pulled Tao by his arm and gently nudged Kyungsoo into Luhan, then he quickly found his position with his arms locked around Tao's thin waist, the werewolf having no choice but to gently wrap his arms around the vampire's waist.

He glared at Luhan and Kyungsoo, using one hand to indicate that they should be following his and Tao's positions. Seeing as how much it obviously meant to their friend, the duo quickly found themselves in the same position though there was a momentary glaring contest over who would place their hands on whose waist; Kyungsoo won with sheer force.

With a calculated step, the two duos fell into a rhythmic dance although it looked like they didn't know what they were doing they quickly found themselves having fun swinging each other around the dancefloor. Other couples could only glare as they cheered and giggled amongst themselves throughout the song, spinning their partner to each other before accepting them back with a bright smile.

Unfortunately the song had to end but when it did Baekhyun kindly bowed to Tao who could only courtesy in response, a giggle escaping both their lips when they raised themselves from their fancy bows. A quick glance to their side resulted in the both of them witnessing Kyungsoo politely bow to Luhan whose cheeks flared as he dropped into a courtesy as he stayed true to following Tao's lead. It was a precious but hilarious sight, drawing a giggle from both Baekhyun and Tao's lips.

Thankfully the DJ seemed to recognise the foul mood in the air that had sprouted during the eve of the slow song, so in an otherwise desperate way of getting the vibe back, he spun his playlist and clicked the first fast paced song he could lay his finger on. The rhythm alone was enough to force Baekhyun from the dancefloor, the vampire pouting as he stood on the sidelines watching as the couples dispersed into larger groups of dancing friends who cheered and encouraged others to join them. A very small part of him was cursing Chanyeol out for leaving him behind when they could be on the dancefloor right now having some fun before their scheduled departure, while also fulfilling one of Baekhyun's wishes to dance beneath the full moon.

Speaking of his first creation, Baekhyun couldn't help it as he turned his head and viewed the full moon in its entirety through the elevated windows of the school's gymnasium. It had yet to reach its apex which meant that he still had some time to spare until the meteors were scheduled to arrive, fourteen in total though he expected that only thirteen would be accessed. Ms. Lee showed no interest in returning to EXO Planet, her excitement evident after speaking with Kris who happened to mention that she was welcome to stay if she truly wished to. Sadly, that only left Daehyun and if Baekhyun knew him like he believed he did, he could say with almost 100 percent certainty that the King's brother would jump at the opportunity to leave Earth and hitch a ride back home. Especially since he thought Baekhyun was now dead.

A ruse Baekhyun was going to keep up for as long as he possibly could.

His friends had drifted back to the punch bowl, grabbing themselves a drink after having spent the duration of the previous song spinning and dancing as crazily as they could dispute the fact that it was supposed to be a slow song and not a rhythmic club song. The trio gulped down the punch at lightning speed, Luhan using his speed abilities to refill their cups just in time for them to finish their previous one. Baekhyun couldn't help but laugh at the sight, just how much energy had he forced them into using?

"You clearly did a number on them." Chanyeol's deep voice whispered against the shell of Baekhyun's ear. Out of instinct to his soulmate's presence, a shiver ran down the curve of the vampire's spine causing him to tremble where he stood. The Alpha s his arms around the boy's waist and pulled him back-first against his chest, a weight on top of his head indicated that the taller had placed his chin against the crown of Baekhyun's head. "Are you ignoring me smurfie?"

Baekhyun remained quiet, allowing his twitching fingers to curl around his arms as he crossed his arms against his chest. In some new found self-confidence Baekhyun managed to keep his eyes locked on his three best friends who also had the pleasure to welcome their Alpha's back, most of them had adorned Baekhyun's current stance that their heads were tilted back a little more.

"Oh come on Smurfie.." Chanyeol groaned against his ear, the sound instantly drew goosebumps to Baekhyun's skin. "I apologise for my disappearance but I can assure you that it was for good reason!"

"If this is you preparing me for when you do leave I am going to ignore you all night." Baekhyun deadpanned, struggling to pull himself free of his clingy boyfriend. Chanyeol chuckled at his misery, grip on getting tighter on the part of Baekhyun's body he could grab.

"It wasn't that," Chanyeol explained, grunting in discomfort as Baekhyun jabbed him in his torso hoping that by doing so it would coax the taller to let him go. His gesture only caused Chanyeol's grip to tighten even more on his body, which only resulted in a frustrated huff escaping from his lips. "Will you stay still so I can tell you?"

"I don't think I want to know." Baekhyun declared, lips stretching out into a pout.

"Not even if it was for this?" A small square box was ed against his waist from Chanyeol's free hand, the vampire eyed the box suspiciously before accepting it with shaking fingers. He cleared his throat of the forming ball and gathered his breath in his lungs. With a delicate tug of the pretty white ribbon keeping the box nicely folded, Baekhyun watched as the black box fell apart in his hands. He stared down at the ring displayed beautifully on a balled up piece of white material, though unlike his engagement ring back home Baekhyun still found himself getting choked up at the sight of the ring.

"What is this exactly?" Baekhyun wondered, blinking back the bank of tears. He had already gone through the whole engagement, marriage situation... Perhaps Chanyeol was hoping that they could renew their vows when they returned home?

"I know how nervous you are about me leaving," the Alpha explained, his large hands slipping against Baekhyun's as he allowed his finger to slip inside the box to draw the ring from its resting place. "and you're afraid that I'm making a stupid decision despite how serious I know this to be.." Baekhyun wanted to interrupt him, to explain that he now understood why Chanyeol had to take this time for himself. But he chose to remain silent, figuring that they had done enough arguing over the subject by now. "But I meant it when I told you that I would be back by your side before you know it, this ring is a testament to that promise I made you. I meant it when I promised you that I would be by your side when we get our happy ending smurfie."

"You got me a promise ring?" Baekhyun wondered, turning around on his heel to look at his soulmate who could only nod in response.

"I know it's a little backwards, I should have given it to you first then your engagement ring and everything else afterwards but I always wanted to give you one for a reason. Nothing else seemed big enough to promise you, obviously I promised to devote my life to you but that was expected with my wedding vows. With this.. I'm promising to come back to you, to ensure that we get that happy ending you're asking for-"

"This is perfect, Chanyeol." Baekhyun interrupted the rambling Alpha. He gently nudged his hand against Chanyeol's, hoping the taller would get the message and put the ring on his finger. Thankfully the Alpha seemed to catch what his lover wanted, smiling shyly as he gently took Baekhyun's wrist in his hand to place the ring on its new home. The vampire regarded the new addition to his finger with a bright smile, his eyes sparkling with the beauty of the silver band. "When did you get this?"

"I bought it a little while ago when you were otherwise preoccupied with another situation, my original hope was that I could give it to you before your time ran out but I never got the chance since my confession kind of ruined the moment-"

"Wait." Baekhyun held his hand up to prevent the wolf from speaking any further, like the obedient pup he was whenever Baekhyun was around Chanyeol snapped his mouth shut. "You bought this when we were fighting Maddix?!"

"It was just after that," Chanyeol explained, avoiding his soulmate's glare. "We followed him back to the village and we fought. His head came off and I went and got that-"

"So you tore off Maddix's head and then processed to buy me jewellery?"

"Do you hate it?" Chanyeol pouted, wide eyes morphing into the most puppy-like gaze Baekhyun had ever seen them become.

"I don't." the vampire decided, smiling with his teeth down at the silver band against his middle finger. He wondered why Chanyeol hadn't placed it on his ring finger, only to realise that the Alpha was expecting him to wear his wedding band once they returned home. "Thank you very much for my gift Wolfie."

"Now," Chanyeol exclaimed, jumping in excitement. Baekhyun watched him with a confused smile on his lips, his heart fluttering in his chest when he noticed that the taller was offering him his hand. "I believe we have a dance to do."

"How did you-" Baekhyun stopped himself mid-sentence, his lips pursing together into a thin line above his chin. The Alpha chuckled and wiggled his hand for good measure, watching as Baekhyun seemed to have connected the dots. "You can read my mind."

"And I love every moment of it!" The Alpha teased, internally screaming when Baekhyun reluctantly gave his hand over without hesitation. A secret gesture passed from Chanyeol to the DJ across the room, the boy raised his thumb in the air and cut the music mid-beat.

There was a roar of disappointment, yet once the slow song began playing over the speakers everyone quickly quietened down. They watched as Chanyeol led Baekhyun to the very centre of the dancefloor, the Alpha pulling his soulmate flush against his frame. Pink spread across the apple of Baekhyun's cheeks, the colour illuminated by the glow of the full moon shining its light through the elevated windows of the gymnasium. Together they stepped into the rhythm of the song, Chanyeol humming the lyrics to the smaller who regarded him with such adoration that the rest of the students were quickly filled with envy.

Baekhyun's heart hammered in his chest as he was spun around the dancefloor by his soulmate, Chanyeol continuing to have a good grip on his waist so that he wouldn't spin too far away from him. A sharp pull always brought him straight back into the Alpha's chest, the action drawing air from Baekhyun's breath every time he did it. As the song reached its middle, the couple easily drew attention. Chanyeol managed to pull out all the spots to ensure that his soulmate never forgot this memory. Baekhyun was raised to the ceiling with strong arms holding him still and steady, he was spun more time then he could count and as the song finally came to an end he was dipped against Chanyeol's arm with the Alpha's face being the only thing in his line of vision.

The night truly was a magical experience, one that Baekhyun was certain he would never forget until the end of time. He giggled as Chanyeol gently rested their foreheads together, a delicate but intimate gesture between the two of them. It allowed them a few seconds to wallow in each other's presence, in the moment.

A shift developed in the air above them, drawing goosebumps to the surface of Baekhyun's skin. His instincts nagged at him, his flight or fight scenes kicking in from the dramatic change in the atmosphere. He tried to inform his soulmate of the shift, perhaps warn him of the impending doom he was suddenly being overwhelmed with. Instead Chanyeol remained in his position against Baekhyun's forehead, eyes closed and face content.

"Chan-"

"Relax Baekhyun.." The Alpha spoke, voice level but deep. When he did find himself capable of opening his eyes, Baekhyun stared into those bright yellow orbs he had grown used to over their current lifetime, surprised to see them so easily when Chanyeol usually seemed to have them under control. "It's the moon," Chanyeol explained. "It's full and has reached its apex. The wolves are going to get affected any minute-"

As if on cue, the gymnasium was filled with the pleased howls of the werewolves. Flashes of colour blinked throughout the room as the wolves began to shift before everyone's eyes, their transition seemingly painless despite the uncomfortable groans few of them released. Baekhyun knew the torment they were feeling, having experienced many times before when he was younger and had developed the ability to shift. It was like a numb memory tucked into the back of his mind, a mere drop of water in the massive sea that had become his memories.

Some of the shifted werewolves had crowded together, recognising their own. They quickly isolated themselves from the vampire's and witches, afraid that they may bring them harm if they didn't. The newer wolves, those who had yet to shift properly as well as those still learning how to shift were being watched over by their elder's who gently nudged them with their snouts as a means of comfort.

"Aren't you going to join them?" The vampire wondered, allowing his head to turn back to his Alpha. Chanyeol's eyes were still closed, breathing steady and calm. A gentle rubbing sensation against his forehead told him everything he needed to know, Chanyeol was going to go with them -it was his duty to lead the pack as head Alpha- he was just spending a little bit more time with his mate before doing that.

Baekhyun giggled as the wolf continued to run against his forehead, the Alpha getting a little braver as his head slipped down to land against the vampire's shoulder. The smaller hummed in surprise as Chanyeol's puckered lips pressed against his pulse point, causing his heartbeat to pick up speed in his chest. Baekhyun's cheeks painted over in a beautiful pink hue, his eyes hooded when Chanyeol was finally content.

"I'll be back in time for the comets." the Alpha declared. Due to his inability to speak after his soulmate's intrusive manner, Baekhyun managed a weak nod knowing that if he was to speak only a choked out squeak would come out.

And for the first time in what could only be centuries now, Baekhyun had the opportunity to see his soulmate shift before his very eyes. The vampire watched as Chanyeol's bones cracked out and his entire skeleton was forced into a new form, he couldn't help but wince as he watched his lover's lower jaw drop out of position before pulling elongated by his shift. Razor-sharp teeth dropped down as his human teeth were pulled back into his jaw to prevent damage, with a grunt Chanyeol shook his entire body as if forcing the shift to end faster. To Baekhyun's surprise it did.

The wolf before him was different to Chanyeol's original wolf form on EXO Planet, understandably so since their previous life was repressed for the curse. And yet despite staring at a different fur colour, Baekhyun was still happy to recognise the similar yellow glowing eyes of his soulmate. He couldn't stop himself from reaching out and allowing his fingers to card through the surprisingly tamed fur, Chanyeol nuzzled against his leg humming in content.

The Alpha's head snapped forward, the air on his neck standing on end as he released an instinctual growl. His tongue slipped out of his mouth, flicking upward to wipe against his snout. Baekhyun turned his attention to the grey wolf who appeared before them, head bowed in obedience to not just his Alpha but his Alpha's soulmate. Though Baekhyun couldn't recognise this wolf, the kindness in his eyes was enough to tell him that he meant no harm. Without the ability to change into his wolf form, Baekhyun was incapable of communicating with the two which left many unanswerable questions forming in his mind.

Chanyeol had obviously taken notice of his soulmate's frustration, sparing him a playful glance before leaving his side. He stood tall just a few steps away from him, snout raised high in patience as the rest of the werewolves all turned to watch him as he communicated with them through a link only they could hear. A few snorted their approval, already in the process of moving from the isolated wolf corner and back into the larger part of the gymnasium.

Baekhyun felt a strange feeling overcome him, as Chanyeol turned to face him eyes straying to the double doors that had burst open suddenly during his fight with Jessica. The vampire didn't need a link to know what his soulmate was asking of him, so with a quick nod of his head Baekhyun allowed himself to speed to the doors. He placed his entire weight onto the handles watching as they buckled under his pressure, they slipped open with a groan.

Slowly the wolves made their way towards him, sidestepping him carefully to exit through the double doors. As each wolf passed through the doorway, they each bowed their heads as a mark of respect. Baekhyun immediately stepped out of the way, allowing the wolves to leave without an obstacle standing blocking their journey. By doing so, the wolves were able to rush out without problem, many going in groups as they no longer needed to delay with their Alpha's soulmate in their way.

The last wolf to leave the safety of the gymnasium was their leader himself, Chanyeol having spent the last few moments having to coax the younger wolves out of the corner and towards the doors. As they were newly transformed it was best that they join the pack as soon as possible, in order to become accustomed to their animal forms. With a gentle nudge to one of their legs, the smaller wolf rushed through the door with a playful howl on his lips. Chanyeol watched as he passed over the threshold without a problem, having rushed to keep up with the orders when his Alpha gave him permission to do so.

Baekhyun's regarded his soulmates wolf form with a bright smile, encouraging him with a single gesture to follow the rest of the pack on their full moon escapade. After all, it would be the final chance the taller would have to spend time with his fellow students, after tonight they would return to their royal duties back home where moments like this would be hard to come by.

Being given the opportunity Chanyeol visibly brightened, his entire frame changing to one of calmness. He strolled through the doors and out into the night, his dark fur allowing him the chance to blend into his surroundings. Baekhyun naturally followed him outside, gaze following the wolves as they rushed through the trees howling their praises to the moon above them.

With a glance to the heavens, Baekhyun gasped at the sight of the first meteor flash across the sky. He watched as the white orb fell across the sky, blocking out the light of the stars as it passed. A connecting light shot up from the ground, the trail connecting the heavens to the earth. His stomach churned in disgust as he realised what the connection meant. Daehyun had accepted the meteors design to take him home, having plucked him from the Earth only to carry him back to where he had come from: EXO Planet. In a few moments time Baekhyun was to expect his own meteor, which would provide him the same opportunity it had granted Daehyun. The opportunity to return home.

"It's nerve wrecking isn't it?" Ms. Lee spoke with a calming voice, her arms wrapped tightly against her chest in an attempt to stay warm. Once she knew she had Baekhyun's attention, her eyes returned to the sky above them. "I've always dreamt about going home from the moment I was cursed, and yet now the moment is right in front of me... and I can't find myself wanting to take it."

"You know you don't have to return with us if you don't wish to." Baekhyun explained, watching as the woman's lips curled upwards into a small pained smile.

"I don't want to," she admitted with a sigh, her head dipping between her shoulders. Her eyes closed as they fell on the grass beneath their feet. "But I'm afraid of what may happen if I didn't."

Baekhyun's brow raised, his lips clamping shut as his mind rushed with questions. He gazed out into the surrounding forest, hoping that Chanyeol couldn't hear what his mind was dreaming up from wherever he was out there between the trees. "What do you mean?"

"It seems that Chanyeol blames myself and my husband for what became of his brother, he believes that they are similar in a lot of ways. He claims that they are both monsters on their own right and he wouldn't listen as I tried to explain why I disagreed with him."

"Chanyeol devoured darkness for us," Baekhyun began, his eyes narrowing. "He has been suffering with continuous voices in his head for years, a feature not even the curse could bypass. He's convinced himself that he's a danger to us all, he's afraid because he hasn't been able to control it. Chanyeol doesn't understand that the darkness within him is different from the darkness inside his brother, but as much as we try and force him to see that the more he will think it is true. He needs to figure that out by himself, alone."

"He's my son-"

"And he is my soulmate!" Baekhyun snapped back, his head whipping to stare at the woman who appeared scandalized by his tone. "I am going to stand by whatever he decides, because he has done it for me. He gave me the space to figure things out by myself and he was there to help me through it, so why can't I do the same for him? Don't you dare try and pull the mother card on me, you can't decide everything for him. He's old enough to figure things out by himself and as the people who love him we have to support him in that."

"Says the man who begged him to stay-"

"Because I didn't know any better." Baekhyun hissed back, not very surprised to find the woman sprouting venomous words. She always did whenever it involved her sons. "I believed that he wouldn't harm me and I still do, but unlike you I actually listened to his concerns, his insecurities, why he was worried about it to begin with and I realised how selfish I was being."

"Am I not being selfish by choosing to stay here when my son obviously needs me?"

"You'd be better staying away from him," Baekhyun deadpanned, finding himself on a confidence boost -a feat he wasn't used to having. "Chanyeol plans on leaving once we're settled back into our lives on our planet. Even if you did decide to return with us, you would be forced to remain in the castle with the rest of us while he goes on his way alone."

"As the curse is now lifted I will be able to return to the planet without the need of a meteor, if I was to stay here I will also be able to return to our planet in later times."

"And you will be welcomed, but you will only be able to join us after your son has left. I refuse to let you try and change his mind when he has fought long and hard to keep that decision. I am frustrated with myself to have completely disregarded his feelings in the beginning, but I plan on making it up to him by speaking in his steed to the likes of you -those wishing to force him to change his mind."

A rumbling prevented the woman from speaking, the two of them turning their attention to the sky where a meteor was on its way in their direction. Baekhyun watched mesmerized as the bright ball of light seemed to use the stars to pull itself along the dark sky, coming to a slow rest above their heads. He watched as Ms. Lee weighed up her options, before deciding on a silent wish. The meteor continued on its way, picking up speed as if to make up for lost time.

"I will stay." She declared with a soft cough. "Although I do not like your words, I must accept them."

"Thank you." Baekhyun agreed, bowing his head as a mark of respect. He could still feel her gaze as his eyed travelled over the forest surrounding the school, Chanyeol had promised that he would be back in time for their meteor which would no doubt be arriving soon now that Ms. Lee's had been and gone. When her gaze didn't shift, Baekhyun turned back to her, brow raised in silent confusion.

"I want to take this opportunity to thank you Baekhyun," she began, lips curling into a small smile. "Despite our history I am more than delighted to have you as part of our family. I must be honest... I originally hated your very existence, I thought your presence in our home would only bring trouble and I believed it did when your involvement seemed to tear my sons apart."

Baekhyun felt a ball form in his throat, his stomach churned and he was certain he could see the vomit coming up his throat. He wanted to run, hide and attempt to forget every venomous word she spoke. But the vampire stopped himself from moving, his feet staying rooted to the ground. He had spent his entire life running away from his problems, he wasn't going to do it anymore.

"I never wanted either of my sons to have you, as I was concerned you weren't good enough for them. And for a while I continued to believe that, but you proved me wrong countless times. You established your position within this family with pride and gained my respect through your devotion to Chanyeol, despite my earlier distasteful opinions I find myself grateful for your presence. I grew to love you as if you were a child of my own, my very own omega son.. which is why I choose to agree with your statement now. I've sheltered Chanyeol for all of his life and that is my burden to bear alone, you will be the reason my son is free and as a mother there is no greater gift than knowing her child is cared for by someone extraordinary."

"Mrs. Park" he hiccups, struggling to see the woman through the wall of tears in his eyes. "Thank you for your honesty."

"I do hope it is a feat you will pass on to your child one day-"

"We'll be having a son," Baekhyun admits, interrupting the woman due to his own excitement. "Once we return everything is meant to return to what it once was and since I was pregnant when I came here-"

"You will be able to conceive again." Ms. Park gasped, her eyes widening in alarm. She stretched across the small space between them and wrapped her arms around the vampire's shoulders, she sniffled as tears of joy sprung into her eyes. "This is the most fantastic news, I am so happy for you Baekhyun."

"I am not pregnant yet." The vampire chuckled, pulling himself away from the embrace. His hands fell against his stomach, eyes twinkling under the glow of the full moon. "But I will be eventually and that's enough for me."

The excitement was evident in Mrs. Park's face, her tears of joy slipping down the curve of her cheek. "Oh you will write to me, won't you?" She begged, clutching his hands firmly. "I want to know everything once you find yourself carrying your precious son."

"You'll be the first," Baekhyun promised. "Although it would only seem right that Mr. Johnson be told first after all he did notice my original pregnancy before anyone else-"

"Of course!" The former Queen declared with a playful roll of her eyes. "I know how much you care for him, it would be an honour to be told after him or whenever you feel comfortable."

"We mustn't get too excited," Baekhyun coughed, glancing around the forest in case he was to spot Chanyeol. "My pregnancy needs to be placed on the back burner for awhile, we must give our undivided attention to Chanyeol who will be the utmost important matter of this moment. But secretly, between us, we can celebrate the hopeful future."

"It will be our little secret." Ms. Park held out her pinkie finger, her lips curled into the most beautiful smile Baekhyun had ever seen adore her face. The vampire nodded his head in excitement and looped his finger around the elder woman's, their promise linked with a delicate forehead kiss. "Oh goodness I almost forgot!" She gasped, dropping both of her hands from Baekhyun's grap. The vampire allowed her to do as she pleased, watching in slight curiosity as she plunged her hand into her suit pocket. "I must give you this."

"A key?" The vampire wondered, accepting the silver object from the palm of her hand.

"It's the key to my study on the Castle grounds, before I followed Daehyun here I was researching aspects of our lives that I believe may be of some use to you. Once you return to the castle, find yourself some time go and check it out, if you need any further assistance please let me know and I will write to you immediately."

Baekhyun nodded his head in understanding, he placed the key into his pocket before reaching out to hug the woman one more time.

"Baekhyun!" Kyungsoo called from the double doors of the gymnasium, he stood with the rest of the vampires, Kihyun standing behind them with a saddened smile on his lips. He was upset to see them go, but he was excited to hear all about their travels when they returned as they had claimed before.

"It was a pleasure to finally meet you Baekhyun," Skylar looked close to tears as she nuzzled closer into Colin's frame, the boy seemed a little agitated due to his reluctance to shift when his soulmate was feeling so upset. "I hope there may be an opportunity to see your planet one day? I've read so many research papers of Katherine's that it would be a fascinating experience."

"Once we're settled and things haven't changed too much in our absence, we will send for you at once. Anyone wishing to come for a visit will be welcome." Baekhyun offered them all a smile, surprised to see the friends he made so eager to accept his proposal.

"It would be an honour." Kihyun spoke for them, smiling politely after bowing respectively.

"They're coming." Luhan announced to the group, his index finger pointed to the incoming meteors crawling across the night sky.

From the forest a chorus of howls filled the air, with many thundering feet shaking the ground below. Baekhyun playfully rolled his eyes as Chanyeol jumped out of the forest with the rest of the wolves by his side. They raced each other towards them, bumping into each other as they tried to sabotage their opponents. It was a race and the wolves were quite a competitive bunch, so when Sehun jumped and shifted back into his human form just in front of Luhan he sported the biggest smile and pulled his soulmate straight into his arms.

The rest of the wolves looked disappointed with the outcome, though Baekhyun welcomed a seemingly unbothered Chanyeol back into his arms, while Tao and Kris strolled alongside each other.

"I'm back." The Alpha whispered, nuzzling against Baekhyun's mate mark.

The vampire chuckled, gazing up to the meteors above them with a smile on his face. "I knew you would be." A blinding light formed a tunnel from the sky to the earth, the embracing duo finding themselves contained within its beautiful glow.

With one last look to those they would be leaving behind, Baekhyun blew them each a kiss reassuring Skylar and Ms. Lee that he would keep his promises. When he turned back to Chanyeol, the Alpha looked curious, brows knitted in the centre of his forehead but he didn't say anything. Instead he simply shook his head and tightened his grip against his soulmate's waist.

"Ready to go home Smurfie?"

Baekhyun took a deep breath. "Yeah," he admitted, standing up on his tiptoes. "I'm ready." He pressed his lips against the taller, humming in content at his soulmate's compliance.

Pretty soon they could no longer feel the ground beneath their feet anymore as the meteor fulfilled its duty, it would pluck the twelve wolf creators from Earth and return them back to their rightful home on EXO Planet.
