four.
Autumn LoveJeonghan started his day by taking a hot shower then did his laundry. It was still too early in the morning, the sun hasn’t rise and the birds haven’t sing either. Jeonghan did everything in silent, going here and there by himself. After hanging all of the clothes, he then went straight to the kitchen to wash the dishes from last night. Jeonghan was putting the last plate on the dish rack when he sensed someone entered the kitchen.
“Good morning,” Seungcheol greeted him first.
“Morning, too.”Jeonghan smiled. “Do you want your coffee now?”
Ever since Jeonghan lived there and made the coffee for Seungcheol, it automatically became a habit. Jeonghan would make Seungcheol’s coffee every morning before the other go to work. Beside that, Jeonghan also cook for their daily meal every day, from breakfast to dinner. Seungcheol doesn’t mind, well again, why would he?
“If you don’t mind?” answered Seungcheol.
“Do you really need to have a glass of coffee like every single day? It’s not that I’m complaining, but isn’t it not healthy?” Jeonghan placed the mug in front of Seungcheol and took a seat on the chair across him.
“Hmmm,” Seungcheol took a sip and pouted. “But coffee is the best way I found so far to keep me energized at work.”
“Okay.” Jeonghan nodded.
“Anyway, why are you up so early today?”
“I always woke up around this time everyday. And I may ask you the same question” Jeonghan said the last sentence in a questioning way which Seungcheol laughed at.
“I don’t know either, my alarm hasn’t even rang.” Seungcheol shrugged his shoulder off. “What I know is… it’s nice to talk to you in the morning like this, first time right?”
Jeonghan nodded. “Yeah. A week of living here is enough for me to remember your schedule. You usually came out of your room around six thirty and went straight to get your coffee. Sometimes, you eat the breakfast I made while having small talk with Yuchan, but some other time you not. Then you leave the house at seven and come back around eight or so.”
“Woah, woah, woah. Heck, that’s scary, just for your information.” Seungcheol joked at him. They continued to chitchat to get to know more of each other and loosened the thick wall between them. Seungcheol showed Jeonghan a picture of his friends, Mingyu and Wonwoo. “They‘ve been together for five years if I’m not mistaken, I’ve been there the whole time being the third-wheel.”
“Seriously? That’s a long time, how could you?”
“What could I do? They’re my only friends since junior high school.” Seungcheol explained, then swiped to the next picture. Showing Mingyu, Wonwoo, and a little boy around Yuchan’s age standing between them. “And this kid is Minwoo, five years old."
“Uh-um?” Jeonghan nodded his head and looked at Seungcheol as if asking the other to quickly go on.
“Their son.”
“They adopted a son at such young age?”Jeonghan’s eyes went bigger at the news, moreover when Seungcheol nodded at his question. “Sorry if I’m overreacting, I didn’t judge them or anything. But, isn’t it amazing?!”
“It is!” Seungcheol squealed. Before Jeonghan could react, Yuchan came entering the kitchen still with his eyes half closed.
“Didi” he called as he rubbed his eyes.
“Yeaa, come here, baby.” Jeonghan lifted the boy onto his lap and he quickly put his arms around Jeonghan’s neck.
“Good morning, Didi.”
“Morning morning morning.” Jeonghan pecked his head. “Greet uncle Seungcheol, too.”
Yuchan turned to look at Seungcheol, then bowed. “Good morning, uncle Cheol.”
Seungcheol waved his hand at him. “Morning, Yuchan. Did you sleep well?”
“Yes, but Didi left me again today.”
Both Seungcheol and Jeonghan laughed at the innocent complaint. “I’m sorry but I need to wash our clothes this morning. How about I give you some milk as my apology now?”
“Okay. Yes, please.” Jeonghan left to get a glass of milk for Yuchan. After giving it to the b
