Chap 17

Spider Crack

"I don't have a problem with it, but if anything happen-"

"Come on Dr. Song, that had been covered in the form I'm signing here." Mir pouted, his eyes looking up at Dr. Song while swinging the piece of paper in his hand.

Even a professional like Dr. Song couldn't help but cooed at the adorable look on Mir's face. She let out a harsh grunt, showing she was disapproving of this anyway.

Mir had asked to be discharged out of the hospital. He promised to go for a follow up regularly but he was fine and want back home. Hence, here they were, with Mir signing his discharge-at-his-own-risk form.

"Who is coming to pick you up?" When Mir didn't answer, Dr. Song raised her brow at her patient. "Cheolyong-shi!"

"Aww, Dr. I can take a taxi." Mir tried to ditch the topic but the look Dr. Song shot him made him pouted like a kicked puppy.

"That's it. Give me a number I can call or I'm not letting you go home."

"Hey! Is this even allowed? You can't threatened a patient." Mir complained, crossing his arms and their staring showdown while the nurse who was there as a quiet viewer hold a green file over so they won't noticed her trying to hold back her laugh because honestly, she had never in her long career here witnessed Dr. Song being immature. If Dr. Song hadn't already been married happily, she would have totally ship these two together.

"I still won't allow you back alone." Dr. Song spoke through her gritted teeth.

Mir groaned, drifting his eyes away sulkily. "Fine. I'll give you a number."

"And by number, I didn't mean a fake one."

          Mir blinked once.

"The one in the form you filled is out of service." Dr. Song added.

"Hey! You are not supposed to call anyone without my permission."

"I did it just in case. Turns out you really put some fake info in there." Dr. Song shook her head with a sigh. "What is it to you? What is with all the secret? It's not like you are a runaway."

Mir shrugged. "Just don't feel like sharing." Mir fished out his phone from inside the drawer next to his bed. He scrolled through his contact number, unable to decide which one he wanted to call until he stopped on the name of Jinwoon. "Can I just call a friend instead?" He asked hopefully.

"As long as they can take a good care of you."

Mir nodded, calling Jinwoon right after. It was fortunate that Jinwoon had just finished his album promotion a week ago and that friend of his had time in his hand.

However, of course once Jinwoon was there to pick him up, the other male had to nag for a good 15 minutes for not telling him earlier that Mir went for surgery.

"Quit with all the nag." Mir grunted when even in the car, Jinwoon still not stopping his jibing.

"I'm saying all this because I'm worried." Jinwoon huffed.

"I know." Mir let out in defeat. "Thank you. I appreciate your help."

Jinwoon glanced at Mir for a moment. "Did you tell them?"

"Our choreographer probably told them all already."

"Why didn't you tell them yourself?"

"For what? To see how they look at me like I'm a weakling? To see how they would laughed at my misfortune?"

"Cheolyong. Don't talk about them like they are some monster. You know that is not true."

"It's true. I'm the freak in the group. I don't belong with them and they always had a way to make sure I knew it."

"Cheolyong. I think you're always just think about the worst. It's corrupting your mind. They are not bad people."

Mir scoffed. "Then it is me the bad one?"

"I didn't mean it like that."

"Where are we going?" Mir immediately changed the topic noticing they didn't take the exit that was supposed to lead them to Mir's family's apartment. He sat up, watching the passing signboard.

          "Jangsung."

          "Jinwoon!"

"I told your mother already." Jinwoon spoke coldly, no longer in a mood to entertain Mir's dark thought. He can get upset too. Mir need to know the world didn't revolve around him. Other people was hurting too, some more than the others.

          "Stop the car."

          "No."

"I said, ing stop the car!"

          "I said no!"

"What are you trying to do? Why are you doing this to me? Do you want to see me go insane?" Mir was nothing but shouting at this point, his face reddened in anger.

Jinwoon gritted his teeth, he steered the car aside suddenly that made the other passing car blaring their horn at them. Once they stopped by the roadside, Mir fumbled with the car door, wanting nothing but to jump out of the small chamber of torture.

"You are selfish, do you know that?" Jinwoon spoke in a small strained voice.

Mir paused a bit but he get himself out the second after, taking his bag with him. Once outside, he finally said, "I know and I hate myself for that too." And he closed the door, leaving Jinwoon to process his words and walked slowly along the highway. He didn't know where he was going but he let his feet took him to someplace he hoped to find some peace.

Jinwoon watched as Mir's figure getting further away. He hit the steering wheel. "Damn it! Damn it!" Jinwoon let his forehead rested on the wheel and kept sitting there. He knew there was no use forcing Mir inside the car so he left.

Mir walked slowly down the road, ignoring the car speeding past by him and let his eyesight attached to the roadside instead. His back started hurting a bit so he chose to sit down by the roadside and let the bag fall by his side.

His eyes looked empty but his mind was working non-stop. Pulling his knees to his chest, Mir buried his face in his palms, inhaling deeply a few times.

Why? Why this suffocating feeling won't go away?

The rumbling of engine sound so near to him make Mir lifted his head slowly, eyes widening at the familiar silver jip, dirtied by dried mud. Smell of the sweetness of apples greeted his nose.

Everything felt so familiar and that heavy feeling sitting on his shoulder slightly feeling lighter. Even if just a tad. Even just the slightest.

          It felt lighter.
