17. Suspect!

“Jinyoung….” Jinyoung heard someone said his name, it was Mark or Ben in Jinyoung’s ear

Mark was dreaming about the younger, that they were on a date and having fun at the park, eating ice cream. But suddenly Jinyoung stands up from where they were sitting and starts to run away from the elder. Mark shouted, he screams after the younger, not knowing that he said it loud from his dream.

“Isn’t Ben mute?” Jinyoung thought, he doesn’t understand how a mute person can say his name in the dream. The voice of the elder felt so family, but yet so unfamiliar

“Ben? Are you awake, Ben?” Jinyoung said in low voice, more like a whisper, he tried to test Mark, to see if he was awake. Not like he can see himself and be sure

Jinyoung soon let out a sigh, when he heard the elder sleeping soundly again. He went back to his room and sat on his bed thinking hard of what had just happened

“Who are you, Ben?” Jinyoung muttered, feeling curious about the elder

“Dr. Cha, sorry for calling so late……...” Jinyoung said after the call had connected with Dr. Cha. He really wants to find out and have answer right away

“It’s okay Jinyoung-ah, but are you okay? Is it anything special since you called me so late at the night?” Dr. Cha asked a bit worried, he had been the Park’s family doctor since Jinyoung was just a baby. He really takes Jinyoung as family

“I’m fine, but there some question I wants to ask…...” Jinyoung said and waited for the other to answer

“Go ahead…...” Dr. Cha said and heard that the younger had let out a sigh

“Can…...mhm…...can a mute person talk in his dream?” Jinyoung hesitated, but still asked, he felt like being stupid and pathetic. How can a mute person talk

“I’m not profession in that aspect, but…... I have heard different cases about mute people talking again….” Dr. Cha started, it has been cases he have heard from his friends about mute people talk again

“Really?” Jinyoung asked exited, he never had heard about that before, not like he ever been interested in that

“Yeah, my colleagues had told me a case before, about a girl talked again after 5 years being mute…… but her case was a bit different…...” Dr. Cha told Jinyoung and the younger waited for the doctor to tell more

“It’s different of born mute and becoming mute because of various of reasons. Being burn with a lack of this function to talk can be hard to talk again, but of course there is various of assistive to help. But if there is a mentally reason for the person to stop talking and being mute, there’s chance for them to talk again……” Dr. Cha explained to the younger for understand

“Mentally reason?” Jinyoung asked, not fully understand

“If a person had met with some shocking situation or had grown up with a horrible childhood that they mentally choose to shut down their function of talking. It’s possibility of them talking in their dreams, just not aware of it. Because their function of talking is actually fine, is a mentally problem who stops them from talking. And in further time, it can change and they will talk again like the girl a motioned, they just need help form a psychologist to let go of the situation they had been through…….” Dr. Cha explained this time more detailed, so it is easier for Jinyoung to understand

“Ah…. I understand now, thank you Dr. Cha, and sorry again for calling so late….” Jinyoung said and apologized, he felt actually a bit guilty for calling the doctor so late, but he really wanted to find out and Dr. Cha is the only person he thought of

“No, worries…...Is it because of Ben, that’s why you called?” Dr. Cha said and teased the younger a bit. Not many people can get into the heart of the younger and Dr. Cha had been there when the situation happened to Jinyoung, he really hope the best for the younger. He hopes one day, he would let go of his past and open up himself

“I…. I was…...I was just curious, I will go to sleep now, good night Dr. Cha……” Jinyoung stuttered and said before hanging up the phone, made the doctor let out a small chuckle

“What had happened to you, Ben? Why did you choose to stay mute?” Jinyoung thought curiously and he decided to call JB

“Do you know that it is 3am? Of course, you don’t since you can’t see and decided to call me……” JB answered the phone and said irritated and sleepily, he was in his dreamland, but Jinyoung must call him and wake him up

“Yeah, yeah, whatever……but had Ben always been mute?” Jinyoung asked and it was enough to fully wake the elder up

“Did that bastard talk to Jinyoung? ……” JB thought and was really ready to get Mark killed

“Why you ask?” JB asked back, he tried to test and find out what had happened

“I was just curious…...” Jinyoung said, he decided to not tell the elder about the incident of Mark talking in his dream, he didn’t know why he needed to hold this as a secret, but he just did

JB let out a sigh of relieve “There nothing to be curious about, he just mute, he can’t even let out a pip…...” JB said and yawned cause of sleepiness

“What does he mean by ‘can’t let out a pip?’ Ben always said ‘ah’ while feeding me……” Jinyoung thought, but soon shook his head of thinking too much “JB must just not knowing much about Ben or any mute people….” Jinyoung thought

“Or are you curious because you start to like him?” JB teased after a long silent between them

“What? I…...I don’t like him…... he will leave and quit soon, just be ready to lose the bet……” Jinyoung said quickly and he can hear JB from the other side of the line laughing

“Yeah, let see……” JB said and hang up the phone call

Mark woke up early the next morning, the elder looked at his phone and it shows 7am. Mark stands up from the bed and went to take a shower. The elder went then to check up the younger, he slowly opened the door, scared to wake Jinyoung up. A small smile appeared at the elder’s face when he saw Jinyoung sleeping soundly. Mark carefully closed the door after him and went to the kitchen to make some breakfast. He made some toast, he wanted to make more, but it wasn’t any egg or any other food left in the fridge. Mark made a mental note that he needs to go groceries shopping. He left the toast on the table and went to wake up the younger.

“Jinyoung wake up…...” Mark typed on his phone and nudged Jinyoung slowly to wake him up

“Mhm…...5 more minutes…...” Jinyoung stirred from his sleep and said sleepily. Mark let out a chuckle when he saw the younger begging for 5 more minutes like a three years old kid

“The breakfast will get cold then…...” Mark typed on his phone again. Jinyoung let out a sigh and stretched his body.

Jinyoung slowly get out of his bed with help of the elder, he was just like a kid listening to his parents. The younger never been a morning bird, he always liked to sleep until he wants to wake up. None of his previous maid dared to wake him up in the morning, because he can have really bad morning temper and be very grumpy. Even his parents can’t easily wake him up without a long fight with their son. But this morning, Jinyoung just easily wakes up with Mark waking him up, he didn’t want to fight with the elder. Maybe he felt guilty for hurting the elder’s hand last night or sympathy of him being mute.

Mark had his arm around the younger’s waist and his other hand holding Jinyoung’s hand, helping the younger to get downstairs to the table. They both sits down with Mark beside the younger. Jinyoung had his hands on his laps and just sits there quietly not like last time trying to find his breakfast.

“I made some toast……” Mark typed, and his phone said. Jinyoung just sit there, hands still on his laps and nodded his head for understanding

“Aren’t you gonna feed me?” Jinyoung said after they had just sat there silently

Mark was surprised of the sudden request from the younger, but a smile quickly showed on the elder’s face

“Of course, I will…...” Mark typed happily on his phone

“Ah…...” Mark said in low voice and pronounced it like it was hard for him to say it so the younger won’t suspect him and Jinyoung opened his mouth to take a bite

“It’s just toast?” Jinyoung asked, he wanted to have scrambled egg that the elder made last time, he missed it

Mark put down the toast and typed on his phone to answer, “We don’t have any egg left, but I will go groceries shopping later today…….” Jinyoung just nodded his head and opened his mouth again to be feed another bite and Mark quickly feed the younger

After had eat up the toast Mark gave the younger some orange juice and wiped Jinyoung’s mouth.

“Ben?” Jinyoung started and waited for the elder to answer

“Yeah?” Mark typed to answer the younger

“Where is your parents? Aren’t they here in Korea with you? Don’t they feel worried about you when you stay here and not going home?” Jinyoung asked and asked, maybe too many questions at ones

“Eh….” Mark said and ones again letting Jinyoung know that Mark can let out sounds, not like what JB had told him

“My parents are here in Korea, but they not worrying for me at all, at least not my dad, he doesn’t want me as his son anymore…...” Mark typed and told the younger the truth, he wants to be honest with Jinyoung

“So, he did have experienced something bad with his family, with his dad…... is he mute because of his dad?” Jinyoung thought, more and more curious about his maid

“What happened?” Jinyoung asked wanting to know more

“Let’s not talk about it……” Mark typed, he doesn’t want to tell the younger. He doesn’t want to tell Jinyoung that his dad abounded him because of the younger.

Jinyoung respect the elder and just nodded his head for understanding and won’t ask more about it

“I will go groceries shopping, do you want me to put you back to bed first? I will call JB and let him come looking after you while I’m away…… and is it any special you want me to buy?” Mark typed on his phone, but Jinyoung shook his head after hearing

“No need to call JB……I will come with you……” Jinyoung said and it ones again surprised the elder and Mark don’t know the reason of the sudden change of the younger.

I’m not a doctor and had no idea of how mental problem or how human function of talking works. It just kind of made sense in my mind and I made that up. Is a fanfiction anyway so hope you guys wont mind that ^^
