Title: Roses or Laurels?

Meaning of title: Rose symbolizes love and passion whereas laurel represents triumph and fame, especially when it is gained after a long, inner struggle. Basically the title can be simplified to Love or Ambition?

Synopsis:

                Song Jaelyn, originally Song Jun Hye, left her home to become a star. Training as a backup dancer was what she believed to be the first step to her dream. Yong Jun Hyung is a rising star in CUBE Entertainment. He is practicing for his upcoming music video but he claims that he couldn’t collaborate with any of the dance partners given to him causing the making of the MV to postpone.

                One night Jun Hyung happens to see Jaelyn practicing alone in the studio. Jun Hyung believes that she’s the one he has been looking for. Noticing that Jun Hyung is showing interest in her, Jaelyn decides to use him as her stepping stone to success. After getting closer to Jun Hyung, she starts to feel guilty but constantly reminds herself about her dream. Will she be able to overcome her sudden remorse with her ambitious nature?

Prologue:

                Becoming a star has always been my dream. When I told my classmates they would always doubt me. When I thought my parents would support me, my dad started lecturing me about life. Everyone thought of my dream as “impossible.” If it’s impossible then where’d all those celebrities you see on television come from? Another planet?

                To prove everyone wrong I decided to audition for CUBE Entertainment. I danced during my audition since I wasn’t really confident with my voice. I always sang to myself but never to anyone. Not even my family. To my surprise I got accepted as a backup dancer. I wasn’t disappointed because I believe that was my starting point and I will rise up from there.

                So I told my parents about the news. And guess what my dad said?

                “Give it up already. You won’t get on with life like this.”

                I couldn’t believe I actually expected him to encourage or praise me. So the next day I took out my savings and packed my luggage.

                “Where are you going?” He asked. Why did he even care? He didn’t even care about my dream.  

                “To become a star.”  I said before I walked out the door.
