The first successful hybrid has escaped from the laboratory.

You didn’t want to harm anybody, you didn’t mean to. You just had to escape. You don’t know how it happened but you managed to escape, the bullet proof glass door moved letting you out. Fear was all you felt as you carefully put one paw out before the next. All the other hybrids around you were knocked out or caged in. One cage after another there were no humans around. The large metal door was slightly ajar but you knew no better than to go through it not knowing the danger lurking outside the door. As you made your way past the last cage you looked inside not seeing anything. Walking closer the deformed features of a squirreled human pounced at you, you jumped back in fear even though you knew it couldn’t hurt you.

With wide eyes and a pounding heart you ran out the door as fast as you could dodging every human. The sound of metal bouncing around the room you felt a bullet graze the ebony fur of your cheek. Blood seeped out of your fresh wound as you ran for your life into the woods surrounding the derelict laboratory.

You had never been in contact with the outside world. You’d only ever met tall humans in lab coats that would prod you with needles. All the other hybrids around you were unsuccessful,
