“Yoongi, you got it wrong! It’s La Si Do Mi Re Re Sol and not La Si Do Re Mi Sol!” shouted Sophia to Yoongi completely lost in what he was doing.

“I got it! Don’t scream, I’m not a genius like you…” answered Yoongi defeated.

They were in the room situated at the 2nd floor of Sophia’s parents’ house. It was placed in the wealthy borough while Yoongi’s one was in the low-income families’ borough. Their mom was good friend from University and since then, they never went apart. From their marriage to their birth of their first child, they had never lost contact. Which add that Yoongi and Sophia knew each other from the bassinet, almost as sibling.

“You did improve Yoongi! Now, let’s take a break, I’m hungry.” She came downstairs with a tired Yoongi who followed her. She kindly asked the maid to prepare a cake and fresh juice for them. “She will go soon?” asked Yoongi, comfortably sat in the cough. Sophia the TV and put the national channel. While putting her head on Yoongi shoulder, she answered him “Yes, this time she will go in Europe for an important contract. She will bring me souvenirs…like always… Do you want some too? She always asked me about your taste. I already told her that it doesn’t matter but you know how she is… So?”. He thought a little and giggled. “Tell her that I like music. Particularly piano.”. Sophia jumped from her position and looked at him with widen eyes “Since WHEN you like music?”. He her hair and grinned “Since you taught me how beautiful, it can be.”. She smiled and get back to her position. In the TV, they were talking about huge issues in Korea. A social phenomenon that touch every teenager in their life. They heard a part of the female newsreader: “In 2009, 9% of young people in school (both primary and secondary) admitted to considering suicide. Most of them blamed the academic pressures that they are under for their suicidal thoughts, and indeed many students do commit suicide because they can’t take the huge amount of academic pressure being put on them.1”. The reportage absorbed them. “Promise me that we will never be one of them...” brook the silence Sophia, while squeezing his arm. “Yes, count on me.” answered Yoongi, knowing that the line between these teenagers and him was thinner that Sophia could thought. Soon after, the maid served them their snacks. When the Sun was down, Yoongi decided to go back at his home. “See you tomorrow Sophia!” and waved back at her.

A bright light. No sound. When Yoongi reopened his eyes, they were now all grown up. Sophia was attracting all the attentiveness toward her while Yoongi was mostly left alone. Luckily, something didn’t change, they were still each other truly friend. At school, everyone was jealous about her status, but she didn’t care, as long as Yoongi was there it was ok. In Yoongi case, they were jealous about him because he was close with her. “He must use her.” “He must have a great life too.” “He must be a chaebol like her.” All the rumors about them was making him increasingly upset about the society where he was living. Always having prejudice, and an appearance to keep in front of the others. No Yoongi wasn’t a chaebol despite his friends’ connection. He was working at night to pay his tuition fees. He went every night to extra school, even if Sophia did propose him to pay him a teacher. He was indeed the only son and child that their parents had, so all the efforts they put in him was important.
