A gentle knock startled Taecyeon awake. The door opened behind him with a light squeak. 

"Sir, it's Seohyun," the personal assistant announced. "How are you faring? Well, I presume." 

Her skills of observation made Taecyeon scoff. But, with body and mind exhausted, he didn't have the energy to rise from his lying position against the table and properly respond. Perhaps the lady was blind. Nonetheless, it ought to be impossible for her to miss the papers and files which had landed all over the floor when he had enough and threw the documents in the air.

Messy, to put it simply. A description that matched the inner state of his brain. Despite the extra hours of sleep and at least a dozen cups of coffee during the last four hours, he still hadn't managed to master the first task Miss Im had handed to him on his first official day, second overall. Who could possibly learn the names and profiles of a hundred guests in eight hours? 

"I believe the miss did it for a dinner party hosted by her father when she attended college," Seohyun thought out loudly. 

Taecyeon slammed his palms against the table, "Wow, thank you, Seohyun. I really needed to hear it right now."

Strangely, the young woman seemed pleased with herself and clueless of his sarcasm as she responded gently, "You're welcome." It made Taecyeon roll his eyes in annoyance before he spun the chair to face her. 

"What can I do for you?" he asked with a tone of politeness to hide his impatience. As much as he wished to be of help, she hadn't arrived at a good time. Plus, his body began to crave more caffeine. His biological batteries started to run out and it was dire to refill them to avoid a meltdown. 

Gazing at the clock, Seohyun answered, "It's time for lunch. I thought I should let you know."

Ok, perhaps the lady did bring a bit of luck into the room. Relieved and happy, Taecyeon stood up and shoved a fist to the ceiling in victory. He was finally a free man. For the hour, at least, which would taste incredibly sweet. Literally, and figuratively speaking. 

A gentle giggle sounded in the room, originating from Seohyun. "I can tell that you are excited, may I presume hungry even?" 

"Of course," he nodded energetically in response. Expectantly, he clapped and rubbed his palms. "Now, where can I find the nearest supermarket? I think I'll have a salad. What? Am I stupid? Perhaps noodle soup… wait, fried chicken!"

While he contemplated loudly to himself, the lady of the two looked at him in surprise. Once he realized that her gaze was on him, he immediately shut his mouth to stop his monologue. Slightly embarrassed from his behavior, Taecyeon felt the tip of his ears grow hot as he waited for a reaction. 

To his surprise, Seohyun laughed. Melodiously with a tone of elegance. It was fascinating to hear as well as watch. She had a sweet smile and most likely allured plenty of men, similarly to bees to honey. 

"I believe that it's to your satisfaction to know that I will take you to the rooftop restaurant, where we shall lunch together," Seohyun announced when she calmed down and returned to her composed self again. "You won't have to eat food, alone, from a grocery store."

"Oh," Taecyeon uttered, taken back and laughing nervously, "I'm sorry! I didn't know. Please, lead the way!"

Motherly to her grin, Seohyun headed out first and he followed behind. He felt rather silly, in fact. But, on the other hand, he hadn't known that it was expected for a newcomer to eat with colleagues on the first day. It hadn't happened at his former workplaces. Now, it seemed as if the thought hadn't crossed his mind, to grab a bite and socialize with coworkers. 

On the contrary, however, he looked forward to a meal with Seohyun. They were going to work closely in many aspects and it would be good if they knew each other on a more personal level. That way, workflow would run more smoothly. Another thing, he didn't want to give the impression that he was a loner. It might cause unnecessary rumors. 

It didn't take them long to reach the rooftop. Basically, it was two flights of stairs and past a glass door. Once outside, Taecyeon found himself completely amazed by what he saw. 

The view was spectacular. 

Never had he seen the city from a similar perspective, and it was stunning. From his current location, he could see nearly everything. It ranged from streets and houses to the river, skyscrapers and mountains. Vehicles drove and stopped along avenues. Citizens did likewise, either by walk or bicycles.
