When You Give Birth Part 2

Last night you gave birth to a beautiful baby boy. After seeing your child for the first time you lost conciousness and woke up next morning.

You scanned the room, no one else was there. Only the baby bag and your husband's bag were on the couch.

You were trying to make sense of what happened when the door opened and in came your doctor.

"Oh you're awake! Good morning _________-ssi and congratulations. You did a very great job last night" she said kindly as she was checking your vitals.

"Thank you doctor.... Ummm have you seen my husband?" 

"Oh! Yes. He was by your side the whole time. But right now he is off admiring his son"

"Oh I see. I guess I'll—" as you were answering, your husband came in with coffee.

"Well then. Everything looks great here. I'll leave you two be" your doctor made her way out 

"Hey how are you feeling?" He said, making his way to you. He grabbed the plastic chair and sat as he grabbed your hand to hold.

"Better than I've been for a couple of months" you said, meaning for it to be a joke but it was half meant. To this he smiled weakly.

"I'm just glad you're okay....." He rubbed your hand against his cheek.

"I tried to reach you the moment my water broke" you addressed the elephant in the room.

"I'm sorry... I swear I had my phone on the highest volume and on vibrate but the music was too loud and I was too focused on the boys— no, I'm not tryin to make excuses or anything... Just I—I" he tried to explain and you saw how
