In your room, you were trying your best to calm your rapid heart.

“Aigoo Lee Joohyun, you ert” you scolded “Stop thinking about Hyunwoo oppa’s ” You slapped your cheeks slightly.

“Better get some sleep” you sighed lying on your bed.

You closed your eyes and breathed. A few minutes passed and you turn to your side. Again you sighed and snuggled in your pillow. Three more minutes passed and you lay back on your back. Five more minutes passed and lastly you sat up frustrated.

“Wasn’t I exhausted just moments ago” you groaned.

You looked up at your wall clock and saw that it was half past 3.

“Let’s try again” you huffed lying back down.

You tried counting backwards but that only made you confused so you decided to count sheep instead. However their cuteness was being a distraction. You pried your eyes open and looked at your clock again only to find that just 2 minutes had passed. You facepalmed.

“This can’t do” you said getting up, leaving your room.

You walked across and open your brother’s door slowly. You peeked through. Hearing soft snores, you tiptoed to your brother’s bed. Avoiding where Shownu was sleeping, you kneeled to the side of the bed where your brother was facing.

“Oppa” you called out softly “Jooheon oppa” you repeated shaking his shoulders slightly.

“Octopuses are scary omma” Jooheon muttered frowning.

“Oppa” you whined softly.

“Joohyun?” a voice called out in the dark.

You froze before facing the figure on the floor.

“Is everything okay?” he whispered, voice gruff proof of him being woken up.

“I’m sorry Hyunwo oppa.” You apologised feeling guilty “I just couldn’t sleep”

“Oh.. Is there some way I can help?” he asked his voice above a whisper.

“It’s just.. Whenever I can’t sleep, Jooheon oppa would hum me a lullaby” you admitted shyly.

“Then that’s nothing. Come on. Let’s get you back in bed” he beckoned as he took your hand and led you back to your room.

You shyly got in bed and faced him.

“So how does Jooheon do it?” Shownu asked standing next to your bed.

“It’s really no big deal oppa. You can go back to sleep now” you assured nervously.

“Nonsense. Now come on tell me what should I do” he asked diligently as he kneeled down.

“Well first… Jooheon oppa would tuck me in” you said carefully.

“Okay. Easy enough.” He said as he started to tuck the duvet under you.

“Like this?” he asked earning a shy nod from you. “Whats next?”

“He would hum me a lullaby while slowly patting my head” you said as you blushed on how childish you sound.

“Right. What song exactly?” he asked.

“Any song will do oppa” you assured softly.

“Okay” he said as he started to clear his throat “Don’t laugh alright” he smiled.

You nodded smiling before he started to hum a soft melody. You felt warmth spreading in you almost immediately causing you to slowly close your eyes. Shownu was trying his best to hum a ballad he knew and as he patted your head to a slow rhythm he found himself getting comfortable beside your bed. It wasn’t long till sleep got to the both of you.

The next morning, Jooheon woke up with a pounding in his head. He groaned as he sat up slowly. Rubbing his head, Jooheon realised that he was back in his own bedroom. Letting his legs drop on the floor first, he noticed that a bed was made at the foot of his bed.

“What the” he croaked.

He stood up slowly and looked at the piles of duet and a pillow on his floor.

“Did one of the guys slept over after bringing me home?” he thought out loud.

The sounds of pots and pans broke his thoughts and he relaxed after assuming that his mother was making breakfast.

“Right. I should check up on Joohyun.” He decided as he left his room to the room across his.

Jooheon knocked softly before opening a crack.

“Joohyunnie” he crooned “You up yet?” he asked as he entered your room.

Jooheon paused when he realised what he was looking at. You were sleeping on your side facing a certain someone who had his head on your bed while sitting crossed leg on your carpet. What’s worst was that the both of you were somehow holding hands. Shonwu’s left hand was enclosed over on your right. To say Jooheon felt overwhelm was an understatement. He march to the foot of your bed and started to kick the bed harshly.

“Joohyun. Get up” he ordered “Lee Joohyun, you better get up or I’ll make you” he scolded still kicking.

“I’m up. I’m up” you groaned and was about to stretch when you felt weight on your right hand.

You peeled your eyes open and were utterly mortified to find Shownu’s sleeping face right next to yours. You slowly sat up and faced your brother who might as well have smoke come out from his nostrils.

“You’ve got some explaining to do young lady” he stated icily.

“I… We..” you stuttered but was interrupted by a groan beside you.

Shownu pried his eyes open and blinked at the figure standing over him. Recognizing it was his friend he sleepily smiled and wanted to wave him when he felt something under his palm. He turns and followed the hand that was under him to find the owner looking at him nervously.

“Joohyun?” he croaked carefully when all of a sudden realisation hit him hard and he quickly crawled backwards knocking onto your cupboard drawers, making your books to fall on him in a pile.
