Scenario: Eunhye and Suho are decorating their apartment for Christmas, and suddenly it started snowing outside. It's special to them because it was their first snow together since they started dating. They want to make their Christmas memorable together before getting married.

“Eun-ah, where do I put this?” Junmyeon’s voice was muffled by the box in front of him and Eunhye rushed over to guide him.

“Next to the couch,” She pointed and helped him. The box landed on the carpeted floor with a soft thud and he groaned as he stretched his back.

“Getting old now, are we?” Eunhye giggled and opened the box, fishing out the decorative Christmas lights and ornaments.

“If I’m getting old, you’re getting old with me.” He grinned and hung the lights along the stairs while Eunhye settled the Christmas tree. 

“Who says so? I’m forever young; you’re the one who looks like he’s thirty.” She stuck out her tongue playfully.

“It’s called mature-looking!” He retorted and winded the fairy lights down the railing.

It took the couple a little more than two hours to finish decorating the whole house and by the time they were done, it was already time for dinner.

“Do you want me to cook or should we just go out?” Eunhye asked as she cleaned up the leftover decorations and Junmyeon shrugged.

“I’m fine with both. If you’re tired then we’ll just get some take-out or something.”

“I’m okay,” She smiled. “Homecooked food is better for you anyway.”

Junmyeon helped her move the box to the storeroom while she got out the ingredients from the fridge.

As he stared at her back from the kitchen door, watching her move here and there gracefully as she chopped and tasted the stew, he couldn’t help but feel that this was what he wanted in the future.

If you’d asked him a year ago what he thought of arranged marriages, he’d scoff in your face and laugh the matter away.

He never liked that idea; he wanted to find someone he loved on his own, and enjoy the process of falling in love, not through some contract that binds the two together.

But when he met Eunhye, everything changed. He thought he would loathe the girl, but he found himself getting more and more curious about her. He’d never thought that there would be a day where he’s actually thankful for an arranged marriage, because he was more than certain that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with her.

Eunhye gasped when she felt arms around her waist, and Junmyeon laid his head on her shoulders. “Smells good,” He glanced at the boiling pot. “What is it?”

“Kimchi jjigae, your favorite.” She sipped a bit of the soup and held it out for him to try.

“As expected, my wife cooks the best soup ever.” He grinned and Eunhye’s cheeks pinked.

“Can’t you find something else to do other than to disturb me when I’m cooking?”

He hummed in thought. “Nope, don’t think so,” He chuckled. “But I came to disturb you because it’s snowing outside and I thought you’d want to know.”

“It’s snowing?!” She gasped and pushed past Junmyeon, rushing out of the front door. He chuckled and shook his head, lowering the flame for the stew.

“Aish, so forgetful as always,” He went out of the house and saw Eunhye already standing in the middle of the yard, enjoying the falling flakes.

“Oppa, look!” Her face lit up like a kid in front of presents and gestured for him to come over.

“It’s our first snow together,” she said softly, looking around. The whole place was slowly being covered in a blanket of snow, and it was finally starting to feel like Christmas.

“Hey, Eun.” Junmyeon’s voice broke her out of her thoughts, and she turned around.

Her eyes widened when she saw him down on one knee, holding out a velvet box.

She had seen this scene on dramas so many times and she knew what was coming along, but she couldn’t help but feel the butterflies.

“We’re bind by a marriage contract, but I don’t think the contract affects the way I feel about you. Even though you’re still going to be married to me without this proposal, I still want to do it right.” He cleared his throat and anyone could see that he was nervous.

“Lee Eunhye, would you marry me?” She burst into tears the moment the words came out of his mouth and she nodded.

“Yes,” she cried. “Yes, a million times yes.”

And it was a special first Christmas that the two of them would remember forever.
