CHAPTER 9
SAILBOATSDreams and nightmares disturbed Kyungsoo’s sleep on the long flight on the airplane. Kyungsoo strained to keep his eyes open as he looked out of the window right next to him. It was just like the first time he had flown to New York. The city lights in the beautiful Seoul City grew smaller and smaller as they went higher and higher into the clouds.
Without intending to, Chanyeol flashed across his mind suddenly. It felt painful to think about him, about them. But he’s all Kyungsoo ever thought about ever since he came back to Korea.
His hand went to his lips and he touched them gently, recalling how it had felt during that one beautiful night. He touched his neck and collarbones. He remembered how Chanyeol had left kisses on his shoulders and nape. He wondered if the traces were still there. He didn’t have the time to look in the mirror. He didn’t want to be reminded either. But he can’t help it.
He guessed he must have fallen too deep.
He leaned back against the seat and tried to relax himself. He fished out his cellphone and scroll through the songs and videos. He stopped when he found an old video of Chanyeol and him during their childhood years. He played the video and smiled to himself. Chanyeol was strumming away on a guitar which was too big even for him. Kyungsoo was singing in a rather high pitch voice. They were only 9 then. Chanyeol sang too. Their voices harmonized so well tears welled up in Kyungsoo’s eyes.
The next video was recorded when they were 15, just before their world drifted apart. How their voices changed, Kyungsoo realized. He saw their young faces laughing and
