Jongin is obviously a flirt. Even Junmyeon can see that as the gorgeously tan boy saunters around the café taking orders and winking, or bringing beverages and giving a flirtatious smile. However, Junmyeon does notice that Kyungsoo gets the worst of all the flirting, which he assumes is a good thing for Kyungsoo. Especially when he swings his tail after setting down Kyungsoo’s food and then – as subtle as he can – drags it up Kyungsoo’s arm. YiFan had choked at this point, coffee coming out of his nose when he attempted to breath. Kyungsoo just death glared as Jongin apologise profusely offering YiFan to help clean up the mess.

It isn’t too long into their meal that Junmyeon notices other waiters joining Jongin on the floor, taking care of the ever growing amount of female – and surprising to Junmyeon who though Korea was still in the stone age – male patrons that wonder in and out during their lunch breaks.

Junmyeon starts to pay more attention to the wait staff than to his food, taking in the variety of cat’s ears and the handsome men that wear them. It is when both YiFan and Kyungsoo have finished their coffee that they start to worry about Junmyeon and his very obvious new obsession.

Waving his hand in front of Junmyeon’s face YiFan calls out his name until the younger blinks and looks across at him only to be questioned by Kyungsoo.

“What are you doing? Don’t you think it’s a bit weird to stare so obviously?”

Shrugging Junmyeon finally looks down at the vanilla sponge cake before him, “I was just curious as to how many waiters were here and why they are only male wait staff…” He starts stuffing his face to avoid any further questions to the best of his abilities, hoping instead that his two friends will take it upon themselves to ponder about the wait staff like he had.

But, alas, YiFan already has an answer for Junmyeon, without even a second to spare. “The idea behind the café isn’t exactly a new one, but it has a different twist on the traditional maid cafés that exist in Japan and such. In those cafés it’s normally female staff dressed up like maids or like the staff here, with animal like features. I would assume that this café, unlike the traditional maid café’s which are designed for the erted man, is for erted women with a for cats. Or in some cases, like ours,” YiFan glances in Kyungsoo’s direction, “the homoual male with a kink.”

Junmyeon nods in understanding and acceptance, while also attempting to swallow his food faster, having noticed the time on the wall across from them. “We need to get going, lunch is nearly over.”

The three of them stand, after stacking their plates and cups in the centre of the table, and head toward the cash register to pay for their meals separately. Junmyeon is once again busy watching the wait staff, watching them flirt with the customers or amongst themselves for the customers, and only notices that he has to pay when Kyungsoo pushes him toward the register, apologising to the male that is there for his friend’s idiocy.

Looking up at the male from his wallet Junmyeon asks what he owes, and is greeted with a shy dimpled smile and fluffy caramel ears. The male states the total nervously and Junmyeon can’t help but smile at the others shyness.

“My cat has ears just like yours.” Junmyeon says, handing over his money. “It’s a really nice colour.”

The male nods, handing his change over, “Thank you, have a nice day.”

From the across the counter, behind the coffee machine, Minseok can visibly see Yixing relaxing as Junmyeon leaves the café. “It’s not like he will figure it out you know.”

Yixing shrugs, turning to Minseok, “I know… But it was so weird talking to him…”

Minseok gives Yixing a criticizing look. “You spoke to him? I didn’t hear very many words, I am pretty sure you said a total of seven words… That’s not talking to him Yixing…”

Sighing, Yixing returns to serving a customer, wondering what time Junmyeon gets home from work hoping he has time to have a shower before that happens.

Yixing arrives to his owner’s apartment all sweaty and gross from having to run around the hot café all day. He opens the door and locks it behind him, making it as Junmyeon had left it, in his mind a plan to find out where Junmyeon hid his spare keys in order to keep the place locked at all times. Looking at the clock in the kitchen Yixing figures he’s got enough time before Junmyeon makes it home to have a shower and throw the clothes he’s wearing into the wash.

He doesn’t mean to but Yixing manages to lose track of time while in the shower, and only realises this when he hears Junmyeon opening the door as he is drying himself. He can’t help but let out a curse as he quickly hangs up the towel and manages to shift just in time to beat Junmyeon to his bedroom door. Looking up at his owner before meowing and sauntering away.

“I must be hearing things,” he hears Junmyeon mutter but doesn’t pay much attention to it, instead only wanting to sleep now that he has changed his form. Before he does however he notes how the time is just after five, and attempts to commit it to memory, which is hard when Junmyeon comes out of his bedroom in a more casual outfit and opens a can of cat food.

“Guess what I did today Lay?” Junmyeon asks the fluffy cat, spooning in some of the casserole like food into his bowl. “I went to this café where there are guys that wear cat ears and tails while serving staff.”

He puts the leftover food in the fridge and returns to sit near Lay. “I saw a really cute guy too.” Lay looks up, and blinks at Junmyeon who laughs at the action, “Don’t worry mister, you’re my number one priority.”

Lay receives a pat on the head before Junmyeon moves to heat up a microwavable meal, leaving Lay to question which one of his work mates it is that Junmyeon finds attractive.

It slowly becomes a routine, every Monday Yixing will see Junmyeon in the café and Minseok will force Yixing to make conversation with him. Telling him that if he doesn’t he will dock his pay. Yixing will then return home at four in order to clean himself up before Junmyeon gets home at five. Most of the time, he will wait in front of the door in cat form for Junmyeon to return, assuming that is what most pets do – mainly because both Baekhyun and Jongin said that’s how animals behave for their owners. Other times, like the first day, Yixing will lose track of time and end up cursing himself before shifting and slinking out of Junmyeon’s room just as he walks in.

It’s days like that which make Junmyeon confess to YiFan that he feels like he is going crazy. He continues to tell YiFan – and Kyungsoo if he will listen – that on the days that his cat isn’t waiting for him at the door his meows sound like curses. And that every Sunday when he is doing washing he finds that he is doing an extra set for every day he is at work. And then there is the fact that his shower isn’t dry by the time he gets home and that there is an extra towel in the bathroom every Monday evening. And the fact that it has been going on for several months makes Junmyeon worry even more.

“Maybe you have a polite squatter? Who cleans up his mess and returns the clothes he borrows?” YiFan asks on one of their Monday lunch trips to the cat café – they have started to take YiFan’s car because it has more room for all of them and five doors.

Junmyeon sighs and takes a sip of his coffee. “Maybe.”

“Or maybe you’re possessed and at night change your clothes. Or maybe you’re apartment is haunted.” Kyungsoo states, seriousness dripping from his every word.

It is at this point that Baekhyun approaches their table, staring at Kyungsoo like he’s pure evil. “Junmyeon-hyung, are you sure it isn’t Satan-soo here that has cursed you to live such a weird life?”

Kyungsoo glowers, “Do you want to get hit again?”

YiFan sets down his coffee, feeling it time to intervene. “I think it would be a good idea to return to flirting with that guy you like instead of insulting our Kyungsoo, Baekhyun.”

This makes Baekhyun shrug and skip away to one of the tables in the back. Kyungsoo and YiFan both return to the matter at hand that is Junmyeon.

“Why don’t you return home earlier than normal one day and see who it is that keeps busting in and out of your place.” Kyungsoo states, flipping Baekhyun off when he walks by again.

“I suppose I could… but how would I know what time to get home?”

YiFan shrugs, “Just an half an hour earlier might make the difference. Who knows.”

A/N:: I am actually really proud of myself because I said I would update in a fortnight and I did~! OMG its getting so hard to find the time to write this far into my session at uni, so many assignments and stuff that I need to do, but its the weekend and I had a break from it all by writing about Suho and Lay's first interaction as humans! it was short by sooooo important!
