Meet Our Characters

Alone

Junmyeon had lived alone for some time. Since he had finished university and moved out of his share house to be exact. Well, that wasn’t entirely true. He had lived with several people in between now and then. Several previous partners, or friends that had ended up crashing on his couch slightly longer than they first assumed. Junmyeon didn’t mind. He liked it when people visited. He liked it when people stayed. He liked to live with others…

But none of his partners suited his needs… they weren’t good enough for him… Or was it that he wasn’t good enough for them?

Probably the later.

At the age of twenty-two, he was still trying to figure out his uality. And that had bugged some of his partners.

Too many people were trying to force an answer from his lips. For most of his high school life he had felt straight. Then a confusing crush on his best friend led to some questions. This followed with dating someone of the same , making his parent’s fear that was gay. He had had a long argument and eventually they understood how he was, but that was many years after his first homoual encounter, sometime during his university life.

He had several flings with varying gender types after that.

Sometime into one of his relationships, a friend of his outright questioned his uality. Asking for a label to pin him down with. He had flung terms around as if he had an understanding of how Junmyeon had actually felt. Biual had been crossed off Junmyeon’s list quite early on. As did Homoual. He didn’t feel comfortable conforming to these labels. And nothing else really seemed to fit him.

So, he explained himself, “I like who I like. I have never really felt like I was biual, gay or straight. I just like people for who they are. No label. Just plain and simple. I think that is how everyone should look at it. They like who they like.”

“Panual then!” was his friends reply.

Junmyeon had sighed at this. It fit what he felt way better than no lable did. So he stuck with it. Even though it didn’t really make him feel like he completely belonged to that label. He liked who he liked. That was it. But because society wanted him to conform to a group of some sort, he joined one that fit… loosely.

It was because of this loosely fit ual label that he felt that he was wrong for his partners who identified properly to one thing or another. And so… one thing lead to another, as they tend to do, and his relationships crumbled. Usually with his partners using his undefined uality as a reason to accuse him of cheating on them, or as a reason for them to feel insecure…

Of course, Junmyeon never cheated, or thought of cheating. Except that one time in high school where he really wanted to kiss this guy, but he couldn’t because he was already dating some other girl… He ended up breaking up with her the next day and went back to the guy later. He was then used for free s or make out sessions. So, aside from that one time, he never even considered it. He felt guilty every time the topic was mentioned.

Junmyeon lived alone. In a two bedroom apartment in the heart of the city. He felt lonely and had been single for some time due to his wavering uality. And so, that lead him to do the only thing he could think of that wouldn’t make him even lonelier than he was.

Later he would discover that this would possibly be the worst decision of his life.

He went out and bought a cat.

+++

Yixing looked moderately normal.

Yixing acted moderately normal.

Yixing’s job was reasonably normal.

Yixing was anything but normal.

It had nothing to do with the fact that his hair was naturally a shade of caramel brown that you could only get from a box. It wasn’t the fact that he occasionally just zoned out, or he would follow a fly around the room with his eyes. It wasn’t even the fact that, even though he had the money for it, he didn’t live in an apartment, instead he preferred the streets.

It was a mixture of things really.

It was the fact that he didn’t have to spend one hundred dollars on Japanese, emotion sensing, electronic cat ears. It was the fact that the fluffy caramel cat ears that sat atop his head were real. And it was the fact that he could turn into a fluff ball of a cat.

Yixing had known from a young age that he was not normal in that sense.

Although, he had grown up pretty normal. He had his parents, he had his grandparents. He had gone to school with a cheap excuse as to why he had to constantly wear a beanie or hat. Because, apparently, cat ears weren’t a normal thing on a human boy.

On occasions he would forget his hat. It was then that he pretended that he had glued fancy robotic cat ears to his head. As he grew older, the story seemed less and less plausible to his audience.

Sometimes Yixing would wonder what he did to deserve such a forgetful mind. What did he do to deserve this?

His grandmother had once told him that it was due to his cat side. That the cat within him didn’t need to know all the stuff he did as a human. All the cat in him wanted to do was sleep for sixteen hours a day and eat, hunt and find sunlight to sleep in. Not work for nine hours and spend another few trying to find a hiding spot to sleep.

So, in the long run. It was the cat in him that lead to his capture.

It was the cat in him that had forgotten to hide beneath his work clothes.

And it was the cat that had forced him to become stuck in some sort of rescue centre.

It couldn’t have been worse for the human parts of his brain. Yixing the human didn’t know when he would be able to get a chance to contact his boss to let him know that he was safe. He was glad that he had warned his boss of what might happen to him from time to time. He was also glad that he had the weekend off to try and find an escape before someone tried to take his shifts.

However, he was not glad when someone came to pick him up and put him in an even smaller cage. He knew he only had two options. And to him both of them didn’t seem all too grand.

A/N:: Hello~ my lovelies~ I hope you will enjoy my new fanfiction featuring SuLay~! Recently I have been addicted to their ship I aim to make a flufy piece between the two of them so look forward to it. The first two chapters I think will be more introductionary, so don't expect to much. Also, I do believe that there will be some swearing in later chapters as well as maybe some other stuff... but I will mark chapters that I feel need to be marked.

I won't be updating this regularly until I have finished some of my other fics... after that I will let you know what I plan to do.

Please feel free to comment (or not) subscribe (or not) either way is fine. Not going to pressure you. But I would love to hear your thoughts.
