Chapter 33        “Could you stop sniffing me, damn it?” Sojin hissed for the fourth time that night. It had been only ten minutes since she and Taehyung walked into the huge building and the vampires already started to gather around them.      When Taehyung said they were thirsty, Sojin only thought they’d be a bit hungry but not to the extent where they actually grab her and sniff her around like a bunch of animals. Sojin, not being able to tear them off on her own had to ask Taehyung for help but the male only stood at the side, laughing.      Having already enough of al the dog-manners, Sojin pushed them away and covered herself with the shield. Well, at least they can only stare and not sniff anymore. Good. Or so she thought.       “Please, don’t use your powers here... It pushes their lust” Taehyung informed and the girl widened her eyes in disgust. “It what?” she raised a brow at him, withdrawing her shield back only to have the guys sniff her again. “A nine-tail’s power is very alluring you know. It is one of the side effects when you have nine tails now” well, that was something no one told her and she kind of regretted not reading the book Baekhyun told her about. It’s like she didn’t know anything about herself.      “Whatever, we need to get the hell to his room, now!” Sojin pushed one of the vampires a little too hard. Lucky she didn’t punch him, though. Taehyung nodded and took her hand, pulling her with him.      It was after a few minutes that Sojin was finally led into an unsurprisingly large room with a living room set in the middle. There he was sitting. The man Sojin had to admit she was scared of meeting again.      Sojin could not read his face the minute she stepped in. He was sitting right in front of her, with a book in his hand, his eyes glued down to it. “I’ll leave now, hm?” Taehyung whispered and Sojin turned back to him giving him a are-you-leaving-me-alone look and he looked back with a look of apology.      After Taehyung left the room, Sojin had to gulp down the lump in before looking around the fancy room. “Sit down, please”, Sojin jumped a little upon hearing his husky voice out of nowhere. Well, not exactly nowhere.      Sojin looked at him and sat down across from him, still not wanting to meet his gaze. It had been so long since the last time, Sojin almost forgot how he looked. He was still the same but there was an addition of new wrinkles due to his age.      His voice was huskier than before and it sent shivers down her spine. The fear and anxiety inside her rose up again and she took a deep breath to ease it. An awkward silence surrounded Sojin and it ate her up from inside out. She didn’t know what to say and all the confidence in her was suddenly out out of her.      “Are you going to tell me why you’re here or are we just going to sit in silence?” once again, his voice startled her and she looked up to meet his gaze. Wait, since when did his eyes turn deep blue? They looked just as the same as Jae Wook’s.      “Uhm... I’m her to ask you a few questions” Sojin gathered all her confidence to say out and she started to play with her fingers. “Go on” he said and closed his book gently, putting it aside before turning all his attention to her.      “First of all... How did you survive the bomb?” she asked, earning a small chuckle from the man. “I knew what the kingdom had in plan. I escaped before anything could happen” he answered after calming his chuckles down.      “How did you know I was back and why did you send Taehyung to watch me?” she continued. The man looked up in thought before turning back to her,      “How wouldn’t I know? I know anyone who passes the gate. I sent Taehyung to watch over you simply because I wanted to know how you were doing”.      “Why didn’t you go meet me yourself then?” Sojin narrowed her brows at him. As a father who cares for his daughter, he’d go see her personally. Why would he have to do it through someone else?      “I figured you wouldn’t want to see me even for a second. I know how much you hate me so I just... tried to do as much as possible from afar” he said, looking down for a while before returning his gaze to her. Well, that also made sense. If he were to suddenly appear in front of her one day, she’d freak out and run away. That was for sure.      “You never considered me as your father but I can’t blame you. I mean, who would like someone like me as their father” his bitter laugh made Sojin look at him with a much softer gaze.
