Chapter 31      Sojin put her cup of hot chocolate down on the small glass table before leaning back on the chair, hear gaze meeting Taehyung’s. The boy sat uncomfortably across from her, his hands squeezed in between his thighs. “So, shall we start?” Sojin said with a little cheery voice but deep down she wasn’t at all. She knew what was to come wouldn’t turn out well.      It’s either she gets angry, annoyed or really annoyed. She had been thinking for the past few minutes what to ask first or if she should just let hi say everything out.       Taehyung quietly nodded, sighing. “I ask, you answer” Sojin said, and he nodded yet again with no other sound. Sojin thought deeply about what to ask first. She had a lot in mind. But the first thing she wanted to know was...       “Is my father dead or alive?” she raised a brow and saw as Taehyung gulped. And by then, Sojin figured what his answer was going to be. It didn’t really take a genius to know. “Yes”       Sojin sighed mentally and pressed her lips into a firm line. “Why did you keep it away from me?” she continued. “Because he told me not to tell you” he answered back, looking at everything but her eyes.       “How did he know you’d even meet me to tell me?” Now Sojin was plain confused. Did he actually know that she was back in Hendeland? Did he plan to do anything evil again? And if he did, then how? Sojin tried to keep a low profile with her guild but the day she stood as a queen, the low-profile thing didn’t seem to be easy anymore.       “He knew you came back the minute you set foot here. But you know, he gave up on the stupid things he used to do. He didn’t give stealing the throne a thought anymore. All he cared about was you. He knew you were going to come to the old forest where you used to stay at...” Taehyung said and Sojin scoffed in disbelief.       “And he sent a bunch of monster on us and sent you to ‘save’ us. It was all set up wasn’t it? No wonder you agreed to actually join the guild” she said, a little hurt actually. It was the fact that all of it was fake, a set up. She was just sitting there, blankly looking at the cup of hot chocolate in her hands that was slowly cooling down.      But then she bit her lower lip and looked up at Taehyung, dead in the eyes. “He does not have feelings like that towards me. He treated me as if I was a doll with which he’d earn whatever he wanted. It wasn’t all that touchy now, was it?” though her voice was a little weak but she was able to say it out for him. Of course she hoped for a father she could love, she could be proud of and could make proud. But that man wasn’t someone she could have those feelings for.       “He didn’t want to have the throne for him. It was supposed to be for you. And you know why? Because every single vampire that ever lived in this world was always despised, hated, loathed even. Your father only wanted for you to have it different.
