“Amy! Have you seen my Gucci purse?” I yelled from my room to my sister’s room.
“Yeah, check under your bed!” she yelled back. I heard my sister’s reply and didn’t remember putting it there, but checked anyway.
“How’d you know it was there?” I asked my sister as i walked into her room.
“Because that’s where I put it after I stole it from you a month ago,” she replied while cracking up.

“Haha! Very funny. Anyway, how do I look?” I asked while modeling the dress i borrowed from Mandy for my sister.
“Do you really want me to answer?” she teased me. I shot a look at my sister out of aggravation that could have killed her. “Okay, okay! You look good. Hyun Joong is gonna freak!” I looked at her when she said that and thought how Mandy had said the exact same thing 6 months ago. This time I was wearing a short black dress with spaghetti straps and a straight cut neckline. The dress was short that it didn’t even reach my knees, but it wasn’t a ‘disrespectful’ dress either. My hair was in a loose French twist and i had no jewelry on except earrings and a diamond watch.

“Thanks. Now all I gotta do is go down and see Hyun Joong. Is he ready and waiting?” I asked.
“Yeah. He just went down 5 minutes ago. I saw him leaving the spare room. You’re gonna make mom cry when she sees you guys together,” Amy confronted.
“I know. But she’ll be crying happy tears so that’s okay. Now get outta my way. I got a man waiting downstairs,” I joked around with my sister. Amy moved without a word and let me through. I checked myself one last time in the mirror in the hallway, then headed down the stairs. I slowly came down and stopped halfway down the stairs to find Hyun Joong on the couch watching TV. His back was to me so he didn’t even notice i was there. I cleared my throat to hint to him that i was there. He quickly turned around and looked at me completely astonished.

“Whoa! Na, you look absolutely…stunning,” he managed to say.
“Thank you,” I said blushing like a cherry. “You look amazing, Hyun Joong.” He was wearing a blue button down shirt with black dress pants and a black suit jacket. He looked…‘bless!’
“Thank you. But nothing can compare to you.” I didn’t respond, but blushed as i came down the last few steps. He was waiting at the end of the stairwell and took my arm as i reached him. “Shall we go now? Our reservations are for 7:00.”
“Yes. Let me just get my jacket and we can go.”
“All right,” Hyun Joong agreed as I walked over to the closet.
“Mom, we’re going,” I called to my mom who was in the kitchen.
“Okay. Have fun love birds,” she yelled back causing Hyun Joong and I to laugh at the ‘love birds part.’
“Guess we can go now,” I said as i opened the door. The two of us headed out the door for a peaceful evening of dinner and dancing that neither of us would forget.

“This is so beautiful!” I exclaimed to Hyun Joong as he tucked in my chair while i sat down.
“Isn’t it? I knew you’d like it. They have one like this in France and that’s when I thought I’d bring you here.”
“France eh? It must be a dream come true for you travelling the world and all.”
“It is. But it also gets tiring…and lonely.”
“Lonely? Well that’s odd. But I get lonely without you. I mean I can’t bear just to see you in magazines, posters, or music videos. It’s like you’ve got a totally different lifestyle.”

“Well, I do. But I think I like this one better,” he said as he held my hand from across the table. I looked at him and smiled.
“So what else have you been up to in the last four months?” I asked trying to make conversation.
“Just missing you like crazy,” he replied looking me in the eyes.(Oh~~~)
“I’ve missed you too, and the other guys too,” I confessed with a giggle.
“Well, they’re fine. I think Kyu Jong misses you too,” Hyun Joong teased me with a wink. I couldn’t help but laugh at that comment. Finally, we ordered our food and had a wonderful dinner. We talked and laughed all night enjoying each other’s company. While we were in the midst of talking, the song Hyun Joong had asked the restaurant manager to play came on. “Nadia, may I have the honour of dancing with you?”
“Yes you may.”
“Thank you,” he said as he took my hand. “And i, listen carefully to the words,” he whispered in my ear.
The two of us got up and started to sway back and forth slowly to the music. The song made me cry because of the words.

When the song was over, we returned to our seats and I wiped the tears away from my eyes.
“Please don’t cry Na,” Hyun Joong said quietly taking my hands again.
“I can’t help it. Being with you is like a dream come true.” he smiled at the words that came out of my mouth. He was thinking about presenting me with my actual birthday present he had for me. Without thinking any further, he pulled out a long box from his suit pocket and placed it on the table. I was caught by surprise and said nothing.

“Happy birthday Nadia.”
“Oh my…Hyun Joong you didn’t have to do this,” I said without even opening the gift.
“I didn’t have to, but I wanted to,” he said. I looked at him and shook my head in disbelief. I finally opened the box and gasped.
“Oh Hyun…! It’s gorgeous,” I remarked as i pulled out the diamond necklace from the box. It was a white-gold chain with a diamond pendant. “I can’t except this. It’s way too much.”
“You have to Na. I got it made just for you,” he said looking a bit disappointed. I saw the expression on his face and i thought it was extremely charming of him to do this. I sat there hesitantly and then spoke up,
“Hyun Joong, it’s beautiful. Thank you.” I then leaned forward in my seat and embrace him warmly, I couldn’t help but smile and blush. Then he got up from his seat and placed the necklace around my neck, and then sat back down looking at how dazzling i looked.
“There. Now it’s perfect,” he said with a smile.
“Hyun Joong, I am never going to forget this night for as long as I live.”
“Good. That was the plan,” he laughed.

“Here’s to an unforgettable birthday and to the most loving boyfriend in the world,” I toasted while raising my wineglass. He was surprised about the boyfriend thing and was left speechless.“Cheers,” he said as he touched his glass with my glass. The both of us sat there and continued enjoying the night when the topic of family popped up.

“Na, I don’t want to be so blunt but how would you like to come to my home with me? Now before you snap at me like last time I just want you to know it’s not forever. I just mean since you’re on vacation and you haven’t met my family yet, you would maybe like to come along.”
“Hyunnie, I’d love that. I could catch up with the guys as well,” I agreed on the spot without even having to think twice. “Besides, I’ve never been to the ‘Namsan tower’ before.”

“So you’ll come?” he asked happily.
“Of course. But, um…when do we leave?” I asked curiously.
“Well, we could leave as early as tomorrow. I can get Mr.Jeong to send down my favorite auto,” Hyun Joong said proudly.
“Tomorrow sounds great. We better get going then if I’m to pack my things. Oh I’m so excited.”
“This is going to be a blast. Na, you always know how to make me the happiest man alive,” he said with one of his heart malting Smiles.
“You’re adorable, y’know that?” I laughed looking him in the eyes.
“Yeah, I know. You keep reminding me,” he replied. “I guess we should go now,” he proposed.
“All right. Let’s go Mr. KIM.”
“Let’s Miss J,” he said as we got up and left the restaurant.
